    Lowkey thought this was cruel until i read up on it and stone crabs can literally just detach their own claws like a lizards tail to escape predators and then they will just regrow their claws. all in all i would say this is pretty green. they continue to live to see another day.

      Bobo Jojo i guess my issue is that i just dont want them to be tortured like most animals. like how sharks have their fins removed. its a horrible mechanisms and they literally cant live without it. >< but at least these crabs have a chance

    People say that it is cruel, most of the restaurants kill the Crabs, atleast those crabs have a chance to survive.

      Adrian Arguello fyi, stone crabs can actually detach their claws like the tails of lizards.That doesn't actually hurt them, think of it as an escape mechanism

    I don’t think you guys have any idea about how *good* these really are. Literally a crime that almost no one knows about these. Some of the best crab claws I’ve hands down ever had

    hello INSIDER. In the phillipines we have a "Kamayan feast" we eat with no utensils.
    Food:
    Salted egg, Adobo rice, Fish !more! Including THAT

    I have tried them twice, and maybe i just did not get the quality that most people seem to get, because i would rank them below dungeness, king, snow, and even blue crab, is there some kind of rating for their claws like beef, like prime , choice, select, anyone know ?

      King crab (especially the live ones) is likely more expensive than stone crab. And much tastier.

    in thailand the shop name "กินปูเมืองนนท์" the worker already peel the crab shell,in this shop worker serve seafood because the name in english is "Eat Crab Non City" Non. is for Nonthaburi it a province,Extra Learning:Bangkok is the old province name,from now on it name krung-tape for short and krung-tape-mahaa-nakorn for long (chop the name for easier)

      You learn quickly. If you had 1 arm you wouldn’t starve ,Crustaceans are amazing creatures, even losing 1 in fights. They survive just perfectly.

      They usually don't use their claws to defend themselves crabs will use hind legs to turn and push off of predators and besides this they only take one claw
