Taiwanese-American here. Yup, Taiwanese can certainly speak English. And the ones featured here speak well; They need to rate their own scores higher!

it's sort of a social norm to be verily humble and self effacing, that is deeply rooted in a hybrid of culture of China and Japan

@@ambarvalia9757 My Taiwanese side understands this. My American side encourages Taiwanese to be assertive and make their presence known to the world while still maintaining their humbleness. 加油! 💪

You could also see how many young people in Taipei can speak Tai-gi or Hakka!

They are young people ^^ people who do studies, that explains certainly why they speak english.
In France not a lot of people speak english.
A lot of people are no specially good in foreign language, but the majority is very ashamed to speak english. People tend to mock others accent in France so people don't dare too speak loudly.
Of course, in big cities, you have more people talking english, specially student or young people.
Interesteing to have their point of view :)
Thanks for you videos ! 🌟
I am coming to Taipei next year, and I want to learn more about taiwanese culte. (I started to learn chinese too, it will be easier to comunicate with people^^)

As you can see large numbers of Tiwanese college students speaks English fluently
In South Koreaa there aren't many numbers of college not only not capable of speaks English fluently but furthermore most of the college students in South Korea not capable of havjng a communication in English language with the native English speakers
Even the South Korean medical doctors are not comfortable with having communication in English
Thats because South Korea English education system is terrible
South Korea English education system must be larning a big lesson from Tiwanese English teachers

Bi-Khim Louise Hsiao, the incoming DPP VP of Taiwan should Americanized the entire island nation, so the students would speak better English.
