    I chatted to Francis and Rick one evening in the Bulldog Cafe on the Leidseplein in Amsterdam, they were enjoying a puff together, as there was a concert in Amsterdam scheduled for the following weekend. I was busking on the Leidseplein with Robin Nolan playing two guitars in the style of the great gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt at the time, and both Francis and Rick enjoyed our street performance, the pair of them stood in the crowd that we had around us, and they did the " air guitar" bit, which made us all laugh, as our music bore no resemblance to their music. As soon as I mentioned the name of John Coghlan, with whom I had played in the Isle of Man at a charity gig that Coghlan put on in remembrance of the Hillsborough Football stadium disaster, both Francis and Rick froze up. It was clear that there was still some animosity in spite of their declared neutral position on John leaving the band. They lit up another spliff and walked away.

    In my chair is one of the very finest quo songs.. Interesting tale of slade dominating the sound check to stop quo from getting a good live performance

    A band I was in supported Quo around 2007 at a rugby stadium in Worcester & from memory (not that reliable!) Quo didn't soundcheck, the crew just did a line check. We were lucky to get a decent soundcheck & Francis & Rick were on the side of the stage in their bathrobes watching us!

    What was Francis talking about!? Just rambling on. The only part I got is how one (recording) take seems to have magic and all the others not, even at my level I've noticed that too.

    Rossi being rather ingenuous about’ not being able to do it again & again’ as that’s all the Quo have ever done.
    Essentially their whole career has been based on just one single

    Francis Rossi is always up for a laugh and constantly jokes... many stories. Great stuff. (can you get two mics as not easy to hear the interviewer).

      In a documentary interview the interviewer is not used in the edit so there is no need to mic up as he isn't used in the edit

      Who said they were new? Nowhere on our RUclips page do we say these are 'new' interviews because they obviously aren't, they are over 10 years old but they are mainly unseen as they weren't used in the edit. I don't understand why you would be bothered to even comment just don't watch them if you want new interviews...

      Interviews are great but I think Rossi tries to be funny all the time and it doesn"t work.

    • @scottblack9213
      @scottblack9213 Год назад +4

      @@dennisbegley333 I beg to differ. I think Francis is actually very raw and honest and quite a hard case, as is Steve Harris. He's joking to lighten the mood and keep himself on track. I'll also say that being of a certain vintage and an inner city boy myself, I find his interviews refreshing. I bet when you get him in private company, he's a good laugh when on form. He's the last of the 70's rockers who actually have their faculties in tact and good company. Not many of them left so cherish these times while they last because as the seasons change, these moments will become like faded photographs, getting harder to see as they are exposed to the rays of the sun.
