When the founders of RUclips were in a room together thinking about all the glory that would be bestowed upon the earth with their amazing invention, they had this video in mind. Just some dude in his kitchen helping thousands of people with a simple fix using his phone and a jar as his only props. Thank you good sir. There is a special place in RUclips heaven for you.
Elliot freely admits that the video quality is horrid - he's right. This is also the most helpful video I've seen on RUclips in years. Thanks so much, like all the other commenters, I've been fighting this problem for a long time. 10 minutes later and it's done.
1 million points awarded to this man here! You saved me $300 and a world of aggravation every time I used my faucet. This was the exact solution to my Koehler Elmbrook low flow problem and it was brand new.
They say not all heroes wear capes, but you sir should wear one at all times so everyone throughout the land knows of your greatness. I had already wasted hours looking for solutions, came across your video and within 10 min my faucet worked line new. Thank you.
We had to buy a new faucet. We eventually still had this problem. We have a handy man and he was never able to fix it other than replace the whole damn thing. I’m in a really pissed off mood and didn’t want to wait for hubby to figure out what to do about it. Looked through so many RUclips videos, tried so many things and none has helped like yours. You have changed my life. I cannot thank you enough! Thanks to you, me, who doesn’t know anything about anything around the house issues, was able to fix the faucet problem that has plagued my family for years! Thank you a million times over!
Over the past few months, I’ve taken my faucet apart several times trying to fix my slow water flow. So glad I found your video!! Problem is fixed!! Thank you for posting!
4 years after you made the video and it's still helping DIY'ers. Saved me a new faucet and and hour of contortions under my sink as well. Like others I tried other things including replacing the head -- button had failed anyway -- and the cartridge (only $14 through amazon). No bueno. Followed your video and like another removed the little o-ring as well. Works like new and no leaks so the o-ring must just be a backup. THANK YOU! I'd drop off a six pack if you lived nearby.
Thank you!! I've been trying to fix our kitchen sink myself without spending a ton of money on a plumber, like you I tried many things AND THIS WAS IT!! I also removed the o ring when I cleaned it out, and pressure is back. You are a lifesaver 😊 Thanks for posting this video.
I have been dealing with this low flow and have tried a bunch of different things. Today I was determined to just go and spend the money on a new faucet. Something made me check RUclips one last time and I stumbled on your video. You saved me a bunch of money and time. Mine was loaded and once I cleaned it, it ran like new. I can’t thank you enough for posting this video.
I can't thank you enough for your video. It saved me alot of time and money. I fixed it myself. I immediately got on RUclips to thank you as soon as I saw how much water pressure I had in my Kohler malleco kitchen faucet. Kohler needs to put your info on their website. Again ...thank you sincerely!
I am so happy that I found this video. I also tried everything, flushed lines soaked the head. Took the handle apart etc. I had seen the plastic piece on the line, but would have had “no idea” on how to detach it without your help. Worked like a charm. FYI, theee was a small “o ring” inside which I removed and it’s working great.
THANK YOU! I had tried EVERYTHING else! This worked perfectly. You deserve every bit of praise you're getting for this simple video. Cannot thank you enough.
Seems this video is still helping everyone after many years. Lol. My faucet has been bugging me like crazy. I just used this fix today and my faucet is good as new! Thank a bunch, Elliot!
I've watched over 10,15 videos on everything else either succeeded or stalled and none spoke of this. I did this in 15mins. Been at it for two weeks... Thank you very very much.
This video worths a million views! I spent so much time looking at misleading videos with higher views. Most of them are suggesting the same thing, and some are even misleading.
Thanks you so much for this video. My sink faucet was horrible without any flow. Now I fixed it my self without buying a new faucet. You saved me some money... It's amazing how something so simple can cause this problem...
Don't know why Kohler doesn't have this information on their website! We had no idea there was a second filter on our faucet, not easy to see this part behind the sink and it doesnt really say what the part is on the parts list. Not the same model as yours, but a pull down model also that has the same part. Your instructions were invaluable. We have had problems for two years and it was finally to the point it was so bad we were going to replace it! Thanks so much, it works great!
Your video saved my life !! I bought a faucet and brought it to Brazil. I had no water pressure, 3 years later and after many attempts by my husband .. I saw your video and I solved it myself! Thanks a lot!
It worked!! Thank you! They did some water line construction and we couldn’t figure out why our front sink was down to a trickle. Your’s was the first video I looked at. Again, thank you. You probably saved us a 150 bucks just for a plumber to show up. I knew it was in our faucet, but where I couldn’t tell. My wife is happy, which makes me happy, because well, you know wives! It’s all good!!
You’re a husband saver I didn’t have buildup in the holes it was the tiny washer that was deformed just took washer right out dramatic improvement and no leaks thanks we had a plumber had said it was our building pipes and put up with it for five yrs
Thank you for posting this video!!! I have tried about everything and was going to replace the faucet when I ran across your video...thank you again and I will be adding a tip cleaner to my tool kit..
I just bought a brand new faucet and installed yesterday. Low water pressure drove me crazy. I took off that connector and destroyed everything internal, using drill, screw driver, etc... an hour later, i had excellent pressure! Thanks!
Mr. Hirsh, First off, thank you a thousand times over. My wife and I just bought a home after selling our home of 14 uears and it has been one thing after another. We are on a well and I had been battling mineral deposits daily until we got a double filter system installed and a new faucet for the kitchen. It worked great for about ten minutes before some residual mineral build up from the lines put us right back where we started. I have been looking for a solution to this problem and your video finally shed some light on the problem. Don't discredit you video quality at all! It is exactly what I needed! Thank you so much! Please upload more and don't change a thing!
I just knew there had to be a way to get more water out of this faucet, and you showed me how. So thank you for taking the time to make the video. You made the difference.
Omg- Ur the MAN! Lil' secret.. I fixed it in the middle of the night while hubby was a sleep.. (took me 2 minutes!) Than, in the morning he was STUNNED after he thought there was no way other than replacing the faucet. Now, he thinks that I'm so talented.. LOL
just want to say thank you!! I stumbled upon this while trying to search to see if that check valve was a flow restrictor and if it can be removed. I decided to just clean it per your video. I ended up having to clean both sections of the plastic quick connect (I used picks I purchased from Menards) I also had to flush the hard line leading to this quick connect, and back flush the cartridge, took some compressed air to it too. Took a few disconnects and re-assembles but FINALLY got it flowing great! I almost feel like its better than when it was new ha ha. Here's to fellas helping other fellas thanks again!!
Thank you so much, works like a charm now. I have the same type of Kolher kitchen faucet, and I have tried everything, and still not working. But follow your video. There was a little rubber ring in the tube getting old and dirty, I took it out, and now it works even better brand new.
This has been a little piece of gold. We have a 4-yr old Kohler Trielle pull-down that has been driving us nuts for two years with low flow. Like some others here, I looked at everything I could think of to clean out, and nothing worked. Finally stumbled across this video and bingo, problem solved. The tiny little O-ring in the quick disconnect has deformed over time and spread out into the flow path, restricting the flow. Remove the O-ring and you're seriously back in business. (The O-ring's only purpose seems to be to act as a flow restrictor. Over time it gets *too* good.) It is extremely disappointing that nowhere does Kohler ever mention this. Thank you Elliot!
I'm glad I found your RUclips. I have not fix my faucet yet. but this most likely the cause of slow flow. As you said, I also tried everything else with no luck. will try your method to fix mine this weekend. stay tuned.
i fought this faucet 4 hrs trying everything even bought a new pull down head i watched your video took 5 min and done thanks great you posted this it works like new
Even the customer service guys don't mention this fix when you call them. Sent us a new filter for inside the faucet, but not a word about this sucker that was full of rocks! Thanks a bunch!
So glad to have found this video. It solved my pressure problem and was such an easy fix! Kudos to the commentator who poked out that little part with a pencil. I did the same right off the bat because I really didn't see any buildup. Thanks again. So nice to have blasting pressure, especially from the sprayer!
Thank you for your video: your solution solved my problem that had been ongoing for months, and Kohler kept sending parts that didn’t fix the problem. You have my gratitude.
Brilliant! Nice! I could not find a solution anywhere on the web. This simple video saved me time and aggravation figuring out how to disconnect the simple clip connector for the hose. Thank you!
This is extremely helpful to me. Not that I was concerned about slow flow, but I was going to replace the pull down hose, because it had a leak at the head of the faucet, where the little ball connection is. But to replace it I needed to know how the opposite connection works. I needed to know how to disconnect it, and reconnect the new hose. You showed it very well . Thanks!!!
Same here...been trying to fix this on and off for months, just getting worse. Never mind the video quality-here was a video that was actually helpful! Took less than 10 minutes and fixed! Thanks a lot!!
Thanks for this, saved me a lot of time and trouble shooting. I disassembled the quick-connector and, using a 3/16" wooden dowel, popped the restrictor out and have left it out. This faucet has never produced good flow since new but now it's running at 100%. I have no problem blowing out and cleaning the spray nozzle and hose if they clog in future. Thanks again.
An amazing vidéo, we have been experiencing that problem since the faucet was installed. Just one day we had pressure. But now water os running nicely. Many thanks from Guatemala 🇬🇹
@@elliot-helps by the way. My model has lifetime warranty and they tried to send me a replacement but they didn’t have it so they ended up having us select a new lifetime warranty faucet. 😩
I called Kohler before I watched this and they are sending me replacement parts due to slow flow. I just tried your advice and the flow is much better. Thanks for posting!
Worked like a charm! Easy job. Snapping the white plastic fitting back onto the copper line was a bit precarious as it took some effort and didn't want to break anything, but apply to steady Force until it snapped back in place. Surprising how a few small pieces of particle can reduce the flow significantly. I also took out that small black o-ring in there to aid. No apparent negative side effects at this time. Thank you Mr. Handyman at large!!!👍
Ok, I could not figure out for the life of me how to get this part off and searched everywhere online to try and figure it out. After watching your video, it literally took me 5 seconds. Thank you
Followed the video for my brand new Kohler Mistos faucet. Found debris in the plastic filter for my spray line, cleaned it out and went from almost no flow to acceptable. Thanks for posting this, a huge help!
Wow!!!. Such an easy fix. I was about to call a plumber, but your suggestion worked like a charm. Took me all of 5 minutes. Wife thinks I'm the greatest again, LOL. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your video...I'm embarrassed I let the water flow (trickle) get so bad. Your instructions worked like a charm. I decided to remove the little rubber O-ring as well. I don't remember ever having this much water pressure in our kitchen sink...it flows awesome now! Thanks again!!! Steve in Denver
It was very useful. I knew it was because of some filter but couldn't figure out how to remove it. Thanks a lot. It might help many others who are using this product.
Thank you for this video! It helped me fix the extremely slow flow on a Kohler kitchen faucet. Slightly different design of faucet and flow restrictor module, but basically worked the same. After finding and disassembling the white flow restrictor assembly as shown, I cleared the holes in the blue plastic flow restrictor (ours is blue, the one in the video is white) with a bent paper clip and rinsed the whole assembly off well. It got rid of a lot of little black granules that probably came from our hot water heater. Water flow is now several times what it was before. Many thanks!
Thank you so much for this video. I don't care about the video quality...bc the content quality was so helpful! I did the same thing what you were saying in the beginning...but yep, it was inside that plastic fitting. Thank you!
Serious life saver, dude. I had the same problem, followed all the standard instructions, etc... and this was the issue all along. SO EASY and fixed it outright. Thank you!!!
Thanks so much! Mine was a little different though. I had an o-ring in there instead of debris/deposits. Removed the o-ring and so much more flow now! Never would have thought to check that little plastic piece without your video.
This is video is a life saver. Kohler needs to update their troubleshooting to address this part. I had the same issue on the Cursiva single handle faucet. I had replaced the aerator and the cartridge with no success. The plumber came and removed this same small part to solve the issue. Wish I saw this sooner.
Had to sign in and thank you for the directions Elliot. I recently had to cut the water off at the main water line leading to the house. Apparently, when I turned the water back on, the back pressure cut loose a bunch of sediment clogging up all our faucets and shower heads. I could not figure out why our kitchen faucet still had no pressure even though I cleaned out the spray head. That little plastic piece under the sink was the culprit! Appreciate ya.
This was eye opening. We had issues with water pressure for the past week. Inspected the quick connector as shown (mine has clips on both sides and can’t be disassembled) and found a HUGE piece of rubber in it. Cleaned it with a safety pin and now it’s back to normal. Wow. Many thanks my friend.
I mean literally I bought a new nozzle and aerator. Installed a new cartridge. Was about to try and remove the water reducer and stumbled upon this video. Fixed in 5 minutes.
Thank you for this!! Just had a new Kohler Elmwood installed and I was shocked at the low flow. I tried this and it immediately fixed the issue. Even with a new faucet, there was a ton of mineral build up! I appreciate you for taking the time to film and share this!
Absolutely correct. I tried reverse flushing all the lines two times each line. Took off the sprayer a dozen times. I was ready to call Koehler and join the other bad reviews for the Barossa and then I saw this solution. I took the little clip on piece on the middle line to the facet and it was full of little black hard particles. My plumber replaced all the supply line valves a few days ago and he said while I was turning the valves off and on to see if the leaks would stop I was breaking up the old washer in the valve into particles and blocked the line. I knew the particles were in there just couldn’t figure out where they were until I saw this. It was a simple easy fix. It took 10 or fifteen minutes and saved me calling Koehler and replacing a bunch of other parts that wouldn’t have fixed the problem. This was the fix and the pressure is now full strength. My old valves were about 23 years old so it is not a surprise they were worn out. The faucet was only four years old which still seemed like new. Now the water runs like a new faucet. Thanks so much for this video!
Thank you! This was exactly the fix I needed. Mine clogged and was leaking under the back pressure. I'm less critical of the video quality and more thankful for the quick fix, especially since wifey was in the middle of making Christmas cookies when it started leaking. And, hey Kohler engineers, if you're watching, you can suck it for inventing such a chuckwagon, overly complicated, bullsh*t connector.
Thanks a bunch for making this video! I just came back to it for a second time as my sprayer slowed again. Dang galvanized pipes! This time I took out that tiny O-ring or I should say it got lost when I was cleaning 😂. Seems to be spraying even more without the o-ring restriction.
Amazing. Fixed my faucet issue. FYI - if you fill out Kohler's online service inquiry and describe your low-pressure problem, they'll send you a new part. The part number you need for the Kohler Barossa faucet is Kohler R776-SD-VS, and the replacement part they send you is 1222880-BC - which includes both the hose, and the quick-connect that gets clogged. I removed the inline pressure regulator in my clogged hose, and I'll keep the replacement from Kohler as a backup.
Okay, I never comment on videos but since you're apparently sharing these comments with your kids: I'm another happy customer! Good grief! I went through the same YEARS of low flow that many others did--I cleaned the faucet head multiple times, finally broke down and bought a new faucet head once (probably $50), and this summer I was determined to take the whole thing apart and either fix it or buy an entire new faucet. Instead I followed your wonderful, terrible video-- I think you said "worst video ever" :D -- and like many others I just ditched that tiny black rubber o-ring. And now I have water pressure again, for the first time in years!! You're awesome! My wife is thrilled. Thanks again!
I have the same faucet. The problem I have is my leak is coming from the plastic white connector. Do you know if that is Kohler product? I am not having luck finding the same one to replace the leaking one. Thanks
This fixed low water flow problem with my new Kohler Mistos kitchen faucet. Thank you!! I actually removed a small black rubber that is inside where i was cleaning buildup and the flow of water in great!!
Worked for me. Mine is a Kohler elmbrook kitchen faucet with low pressure. The plastic wasn’t dirty on mine however I saw a very small rubber o ring inside, taking that out improved the pressure majorly. Thanks.

I have the elmbrook but my piece was black and didn’t have a removable piece like he is showing. Same for you?
Removing the small o-ring was my ultimate fix. Thanks for showing how to take this apart!! Really helpful
Came here to say this, but you did the job. Much higher flow!
Small O ring????? I used this fix, but still do not have the flow as it should be. Is there another trick???

Thanks for this, saved me a lot of time and trouble shooting. I disassembled the quick-connector and, using a 3/16" wooden dowel, popped the restrictor out and have left it out. This faucet has never produced good flow since new but now it's running at 100%. I have no problem blowing out and cleaning the spray nozzle and hose if they clog in future. Thanks again.
Glad it helped. I removed the restrictor also and it's been years with no issue.
An amazing vidéo, we have been experiencing that problem since the faucet was installed. Just one day we had pressure. But now water os running nicely.
Many thanks from Guatemala 🇬🇹
This is a horrible issue that we have continually. Thank you so much for posting this video.
Any time!
@@elliot-helps by the way. My model has lifetime warranty and they tried to send me a replacement but they didn’t have it so they ended up having us select a new lifetime warranty faucet. 😩
@@thebikerbeethat's hysterical! Did you get it and does it have the dreaded failure point?
Extremely helpful video thank you so much. We've been living with this issue for years and had no idea and it was so easy to fix ourselves
The suggested solution really worked for my situation! Thanks a lot!
Thank you
This is the only one that worked as said here. THANK YOU!
They don't tell you because they want you to buy a new faucet, that's how they make their money. Great information thank you.
Denver is great, and now has one less clogged sink. My work here is done! 😂😊
It was very useful. I knew it was because of some filter but couldn't figure out how to remove it. Thanks a lot. It might help many others who are using this product.
Indeed! 😊
The amount of dirt was unbelievable! Thank you so much! Worked great!
Fixed in 10 minutes. Great video--it's all about the information, not the technology. Thanks!!!
Yay! 😊
Oh my God! Thank you so much! Spent weeks trying to figure this out. This worked like gangbusters!
Thank you for this! My kitchen sink is back to full water pressure/flow. That little plastic piece was the culprit!!! 👍👍👍
This video helped me solve the problem. I took off the little black ring and bam. It worked.
Thank you so much for this video. I don't care about the video quality...bc the content quality was so helpful! I did the same thing what you were saying in the beginning...but yep, it was inside that plastic fitting. Thank you!
Such an odd problem... 😊😊😊
Thank you! You helped me fix the frustrating slow flow problem, I could have never guessed where it's stuck.
Serious life saver, dude. I had the same problem, followed all the standard instructions, etc... and this was the issue all along. SO EASY and fixed it outright. Thank you!!!
Thanks. Super useful. Saved 200$ and prob up because of this video.
Thank you so much! I'm a 70 year old woman and did it myself. Instead of cleaning it I just removed it. Thanks again.
Thanks so much! Mine was a little different though. I had an o-ring in there instead of debris/deposits. Removed the o-ring and so much more flow now! Never would have thought to check that little plastic piece without your video.
Glad to help 🎉🎉😊
This is video is a life saver. Kohler needs to update their troubleshooting to address this part. I had the same issue on the Cursiva single handle faucet. I had replaced the aerator and the cartridge with no success. The plumber came and removed this same small part to solve the issue. Wish I saw this sooner.
Such an odd problem. If I was one for conspiracy I'd have a field day with this 😊
Thank you! Just fixed mine following your steps , water is flowing great now.
Worked like a charm! Thank you. We now have maximum water pressure
MAX PRESSURE!!!! 😊😊
Our tankless water heater wasn’t working in the kitchen because of the water pressure. You just saved my marriage
Thank you for saving me from buying a new faucet!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! This was so helpful! I have been so annoyed with this for months!
You saved my butt and my wife thinks I am a master plumber. Thank you!
Man you are life saver.. I tried 1000 things and this was the issue :)
Wait, where’s the inline pressure regulator? Is it in the white plastic piece we’ve been discussing?
@@danabrown9471yes, instead of unclogging it you can just pop it out with a poker.
Classic! Nicely done!
Thanks
I just shared this with the kids. Hero status = restored!!! 😊😊😊😊
Thanks.
Victory!!
