  • My old wood boat gets a cool little log burner! Let's look at my new heater for my old, 1956 Chris Craft Cabin Cruiser, a Cubic Mini. This amazing tiny wood stove is sure to heat the cabin and decrease the humidity. It's a solid piece of work with excellent workmanship.
    Full install video will be coming up soon!

    You can keep that very cool propane stove and use it in a different space. That old stove is valuable.

    Wow. Being a wood stove fan for many years, I never knew a working unit that size was in existence. Very much looking forward to seeing the install and operation.

      Yes amazing how small this thing is. But it does feel like it's going do the job. I'll definitely run some tests with it soon 👍🍺. Have a great Sunday

    Really cool stove...that thing is definitely well built for sure! Surprise how much room that propane stove took up, man...really opened up the kitchen when you removed it. Great video and lots of interesting clips, but the ONE thing that I took away was when you said: "...everyone should own a wood stove...", really stuck with me and made me think your right, everyone should at least own one in their lives! Thanks for doing this video and reminding us folks the important things we should all do...

    Boats always come with junk the previous owner didn't off load before selling. Like that chair. 😂🥳

    You already figured out the best area. I’d put it where the propane stove was. It’s the least amount of work for installation! That’s a really nice stove. Bling is for jewelry not a heating stove! I can’t wait to see installed and working. It was nice seeing a visual of you and not just a voice! How was your golf game? That whiskey would kill the taste of that awful beer. Any beer with a awful name will taste like it’s name! Have a great time!

      Thank you Nancy 😊. Bling is for jewelry, haha 👍 exactly! I think the old stove location is the spot. Have a GREAT Sunday Nancy

    If you added a stainless steel shelf, you could mount it above your galley counter, freeing up your counter space, just a thought.
    Then add an Ecofan to assist circulate that beautiful dry aromatic cedar heat thru the cabin, and life on the boat will truly be awesome.
    A wood stove on a boat simply can't be beat!

    Going to be very interesting on how you are going to do the stove pipe. The deck pass thru and clearances with fire wool as added protection (maybe?). But then up and out on a wooden boat is a dynamic I have never thought about. Height and draft work together along with a spark arrestor of which I would say has to be a must. Not sure what will have to be done to secure the pipe topside. It did not look like there were any structures around the existing propane pass thru hole that was opening up to the outside.

      Video coming up soon on the install. I'm still trying to track down components and it's been raining hard here for a-day and a 1/2. I don't need the more holes in the boat at the moment 🤣. Have an awesome week 👍

    • @JimmyMeatwhistle
      @JimmyMeatwhistle  Год назад +1

      I'm not sure what it's worth, but yes it is very unique. Shipmate is a well known brand but I've searched online and haven't come up with the exact same model, so I guess there's not many of these around? It's located on Vancouver island at the moment.. Let me know what you think.

    • @Franknank
      @Franknank Год назад

      @@JimmyMeatwhistle Would probably not be practical to ship, but from what I have read people want working units. There is also a market for parts from these stoves for repair of of old units. Great Video, hope the woodstove works out for you, nothing like the warmth they provide.

    My insurance said I couldn't exit the stack that way because it could burn someone walking past it on deck

    • @JimmyMeatwhistle
      @JimmyMeatwhistle  Год назад

      Hi neighbor 🍺. Ask them what the minimum clearance from the walkway is? Also ask them if you can put a small gate/railing there so no one can walk by when the stove is in use. Also, its easy enough to put an elbow in the stack and move the stack over further if needed.

    • @aquious953
      @aquious953 Год назад +1

      @@JimmyMeatwhistle Hello neighbor! Thanks for the reply. I think I've got it sorted. I ordered the cubic mini grizzly stove. I've got a flybridge power boat. I'm going to put the stack just where the front window visor and flybridge superstructure meet. 🤞
