I used to work with a guy from bristol who was a bare knuckle fighter and he would make a fist and twist and punch his fists in to buckets of sand , he had thick skin on his knuckles that were about 5mm thick and were rock hard , he was a real nice fella with lots of stories from the 60s and 70s going around the country fighting to make extra cash and a lovely guy and a good machine driver aswel lol
