  • sites.utexas.e... * This #RansomInAMinute takes a closer look at the papers of English author Radclyffe Hall and her partner, Una Troubridge.
Radclyffe Hall left behind a legacy that remains crucial to queer literature. With her partner, writer Una Troubridge, Hall lived authentically, but left behind a legacy for contemporary audiences to untangle. "The Well of Loneliness," Hall’s most popular novel, was published in 1928 and was subject to an obscenity trial in England due to the novel’s nuanced treatment of sexuality. While the novel proved to be groundbreaking work in queer literature, Hall and Troubridge’s leanings towards fascism and other far-right causes complicate their legacies.
