I like your bush hat Adam!
Seeing and capturing patterns is an appreciation of observation.
Always such a pleasure to watch your videos and learn from the master! Surely it’s not Maxwell House coffee but Mellow Birds you’re giving Bri 😂
Love your filter pouch!
loved those photos also :)
Beautiful intimate (minimalist) landscapes 🙂 My eye is drawn to that 'puddle/barnacle/kelp' at the foot of your tripod just after the 13:05 time stamp 🙂
Michael Shanblum-esk. Very cool!
Awesome pictures, I am learing an awful lot from you, thank you for giving us would be photographers some great advice
A photographer once told me, it's not about meeting your expectation or your favorite light, it's your ability to deal with every hard situation 😁 it seems a little theoretical, but maybe too right to say.
Enjoyed the photography and the video!
There’s something about texture and detail in the images that make you want to touch and feel. A completely different emotional experience to landscapes. In my opinion anyhow. Thanks Adam.
Nice one buddy. The last tree shot is really wonderful. I felt like you were speaking directly to me at the beginning, sunsets well after 10pm and sunrises before 04:30, although it is getting better day by day.
Cheers, mate!
Some of these shots are "portfolio worth" material, thank you for another inspiring video Adam!
Pretty cool Adam. Tree patterns and rock patterns very interesting. Thanks great video.
You bet
I have one of your patterns of nature photographs hanging in my office that I stop and look at everyday. I think you titled it Sand Dollar. It reminds me to look down every time I am out shooting. Thanks for the inspiration.
You bet! and thank you for grabbing a print.
Loved all the patterns and textures, I'm always a sucker for those two items. I'm curious, did you ever consider that the natural elements (trees, water, beach, driftwood, etc) have a discussion as a photographer approaches. Perhaps to agree that "this one has potential?" Just a thought, Bill
Love the pano format wood bark log one
So inspiring, and i really enjoy waking up before Sunrise during my vacation: always good comps with this good mood & Light.
Happy to hear that!
You guys should get into infrared photography, that way you can photograph at all times of the day (it's great in mid-day sunlight).
wonderful pictures and video. Greetings from Thuringia
Thanks for visiting
Thank you very much, Adam. I like your close-ups so much. Yours and Alister Benn‘s are so inspiring. The ones in this video are so beautiful, such harmonious colours… and you never overdo the editing, very very nice! Kind regards, Martin
Great to hear!
Nicely done Adam.
I think looking for comps on a "boring" day is fun. You usually find things you end up liking.
I don't know if it's just me but I almost always prefer your raw images over the processed ones.
I definitely preferred the white balance on the raw images at 5:45 and 6:00.
Love the drift wood patterns. That’s my next coastal trip concept sorted 👍
Have fun!
Thanks Adam... another good one, ' patterns, ' love this stuff!
Btw, I like the Gunny hat, Boonie hat. I have a similar hat I use when kayaking, now I use it when mowing the lawn to protect the bald spot on my 71 year old cranium, lol!
Vermont here,
Bill...❤
Yes that sun is getting brutal
Great photos! It's nice to see someone else's perspectives on subjects I've been shooting for the past few years. I would be happy to show you a few more spots on Gabriola if you plan to come over here again.
Thanks for making my Sunday morning bright and inspirational. Thanks to your channel , I learned that 90% of my photography is knowing where to stand and work with the available light.
We love Adam besauce he is sensiteve but also grumpy. Good save The Queen. 🌷
King, the queen died
Ok, sorry for your Lost.
Thanks for sharing Adam nice vid.
As far as day jobs go....................... not too bad Mr Gibbs. Good paring of the music with photography 'reveal' too! 👍
Thanks 👍
Nice work sir! Looking into the backpack, looks like you're over the one-lens-challenge ;-) I love the image @ 19:50. The little knot left of center looks like the eye of a gull to me. Like it is poking its beak into reeds or something hiding the front of its face. The water-scoured images remind me of similar red formations here at "Valley of Fire". More please!
Cool, thanks
It's funny, I too enjoy shooting patterns and small details.
I try to make a point to incorporate both when I'm out and about. Finding something small and seemingly insignificant is much like finding an unusual composition that most people wouldn't notice. Nothing I hate worse than coming home with a shot that's already been made. ☺️
Great video Adam!
Thanks, Barb!
Have you considered converting one of your Fuji \XT-somethings to Infrared? Harsh mid-day summer light is made for IR mages. Plus, it's an entirely new method of processing, which exercises the old noodle and creates new inspiration.
Great trip mate 😉👍 The image at the end turned out nicely.
probably the better of the bunch
16:39, lol, we were all thinking it...
Nice office. 😊
I was thinking if you plan on going in the high mountains this summer? To go photographing but I also seem to remember from much earlier videos that you did some trail running some years ago - is it something that you still do? Best, Jon
I still run, but you wouldn't know it by my ageing physique. I keep meaning to get back into the hills, but I get distracted very easily.
All great shots but I particularly loved the one at 19:55. It reminded me of a waterfall under colourful fall light.
Any updates on when the new book will be shipping? No pressure, I'm just really looking forward to it, given how much I have enjoyed your first book, 'Quiet Light'.
Yes, the book will be shipped by the end of September. Unfortunately the process is taking much longer than I had planned. The good news is it looks amazing, I'm very happy with what I have seen so far. Thanks for your patience,
@@QuietLightPhoto Great news. Thanks for the update Adam.
“Taffany patterns” again, sent me off once more on a fruitless search for the origin of the term. The closest I came was a somewhat derogatory term for a Welshman. Another possibility is the resemblance to the texture of taffy candy. More entertaining however, are the rhymes in which the victim of the thieving Welshman Taffy extracts revenge.
fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taffoni
@@QuietLightPhoto Thanks! Fascinating to learn more about the erosion process and the characteristics of the rock types that support the formation of taffoni. BTW, given the origin of the word, would the emphasis be on the second syllable? Taffoni, macaroni, rigatoni?
I enjoy taking these minimalist pattern style of photograph but when I see a pro photographer taking them I often wonder what they do with the image. Is there much commercial value to them, other than just being part of a youtube video?
There is very little commercial value to any of the images, landscape, close-up or otherwise.
@@QuietLightPhoto Sad, but I very much appreciate the personal response. Best wishes!
I notice that you don’t use a macro lens on these - could you explain why?
Don't own one
@@QuietLightPhoto Well, that would explain that! :^)
