Sir, thank you for the wonderful teaching! May I raise a question: is it parity check can detect ALL ODD number of errors? Think about the case in your teaching, even(2 as the example in your video) number of error cannot be detected.... if it's 3 or 5 or 7 errors, isn't it absolutely not detected?
Sir, 2d parity check can also not detect 3 bit error sometimes. Like if 2nd row has 2 error and 2nd column also has 2 error where one error is common between 2nd row and 2nd column but due to 2 bit change there will be no difference in parity value of 2nd row and column, Hope u get my point Plz reply sir..
There is actually no need to do the following row column matrix to find whether there is an error or not. We can just find error by doing XOR. If the XOR of x and y is 0, then there is no error otherwise, let z = x^y and then check all the positions wherever there is a '1' in z there is definitely an error!

It totally depends where the error has occurred. Even 5 errors can be identified, if the errors occur diagonally. Somehow if we can identify the error by the cross section of row and column parity we make rectification.
sir the serial number of the layer will change depending upon we are sending or receiving data? i mean that when we are sending application layer will be considered as the first layer and when we are receiving data the physical layer will act as layer 1? thanks in advance.. any help will be very helpful
