    His success comes down to mindset imo. Most Coleman’s flaws can be addressed, n if he’s willing to take a mental beating from not being perfect in training, then he’ll grow in no time. If he’s more stubborn… who knows.

      Young guys can improve but their rate of improvement is never linear. That said a good idea is to have Coleman be a complimentary piece in a talented group of receivers until he works more on his overall game. Because he's certainly not the type of receiver who will deliver with double digit targets going for him in his rookie year.

    People care way too much about his 40 time of 4.61. One thing people also forget is how much smaller Dbs are getting
    Larry Fitzgerald, 4.63
    Jerry Rice, 4.71
    And these two have the 1st and second most receiving yards in NFL history and theyre slower than coleman.
    Keenan Allen, 4.71

    I feel the narrative that how a WR prospect will fare against NFL DB's on the next level is severely flawed. Just throw it out. It's like this is the number one box that a prospect has to check coming into the league and it's severely overblown. Everyone talks about how the game has changed and all positions are smaller. Yet everyone forgets to mention that DB's have gotten smaller too. For every Sauce Gardner and Christian Gonzalez there's like 25 Db's who are small and struggle holding up in coverage. This is why you see less Cb's drafted on day 1 or even the top 15 compared to the past. So, while we are seeing more and more smaller quicker WR's we are also seeing more smaller and quicker corners as well. It doesn't mean Coleman won't dominate and punish those corners. All 32 teams do not have 2 starting corners who are big and physical. Coleman will be just fine. He can catch the football lol and last I checked that's the most important thing for a WR.

  • @apex4201
    @apex4201 18 дней назад +1

    the "Bad" has nothing to do with Coleman, that is the routes designed, he was doing what was asked of him, coach said "just throw it up to coleman" that was the play call. the "bad" seems pretty good because he was still successful with only having "limited route diversity" so teams and players knew what he was gonna do and still couldn't stop him lol sounds pretty elite IMO, didn't they say Steve Smith couldn't run routes too out of college? FUNNY HOW THINGS WORK I'm sure the NFL will be having Keon Coleman running more routes then back shoulder fades, tho if it ain't broke don't fix it i think he drop 4 passes his entire career. cool video tho lol

    Really good breakdown. I think he still can be a 2nd or 3rd rounder. His best football is ahead of him. I’m not sure if anyone knows this but he was a basketball player first that happens to be good at football so the WR position is still new to him. He’s also training with coach DROB out in Texas who is one of the best WR trainers in the country. I don’t think he’ll ever have the burst but if can continue to change temp during his routes he’ll be just fine.

    I will say one thing I think this video did miss A little bit, is some of Coleman’s success lined up on the inside, when they didn’t just have him running go routes all game, and despite a lack of a great measurable 40 time he is really fluid with his movement and excellent with the ball in his hand. Despite his size FSU used him as a returner and he was great at making people miss. He’s not a perfect prospect but calling him fringe day 3 is pretty harsh

    What I like the most about this young man is how truly responsible and mature, he is, his Personna, his demeanor, and definitely especially his disposition is all in sync with his complete Aura. This young man knows where he’s at, and he damn sure knows where he’s going. The emphasis of his infectious personality is very contagious, yes; that’s because this young man knows what he wants.! And when I found out that he put our God Amighty first and he’s undergoing tutelage with the great Andre Reed, yes the NO. 83 receiver for the Buffalo Bills known as The Middleman, who invented the Slot Receiver Position Hall of Famer Andre Reed❗️ He reached out to Mr. Andre Reed on his own accord. He said he’s trying to get all the tidbits he can and if that’s not planning ahead and being responsible for a head on impact at his position, then Bills Mafia I truly don’t know what it is ❗️ he even said he’s ready to jump through tables with the Buffalo Bills fan base❣️

    Let’s kill the narrative that a high draft pick has to be a complete, ready to dominate player from Day 1 in the league.
    Does that happen sometime?
    Sure it does, but all these analysts are so quick to devalue guys that have a good foundation but could use some development at the professional level.

    • @ThinkingFootball
      @ThinkingFootball  25 дней назад +2

      That's not really a narrative - more a product of reality.
      Outside of positions where pure athleticism can dominate (RB/EDGE) most guys need a prerequistive skill level to be compettitve with the 1% that plays in the NFL.
      Can guys develop? ABSOLUTELY!
      Should unpolished guys demand a first rounder? No, thats why the draft is 7 rounds long.

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W 24 дня назад +1

      Its called value. First round contract lends a 5th year option so teams at minimum are looking for solid starter material by day 1. Unless its a potential top 10 player in a high demand position like Edge. Which also works out for Day 2-3 picks because they are gotta do more to prove they are beyond depth chart guys and if their team believes in them, they will become starters sooner than later and be paid like one. In the end of the day it is just how business works for roster building in the NFL.

      From the broadcast angle - he appears to be a late day 1, early day 2 guy

    • @sourcingsailor4987
      @sourcingsailor4987 22 дня назад

      @@ThinkingFootball Broadcast angle? Dude what are you talking about?
      Concerning the All-22 aspect, in any other draft, he would have been a Top 15 pick, easily! But, in a draft, where it was predicted that it would have the most QBs picked, that added with the "NEEDS" for QB and defensive players by almost every team in the Top 15, added with the fact that almost every team who picked from 16th to 32th, didn't need a WR, so it was fairly easy to predict him as an early Day 2 pick.
      Keep in mind, you used the All-22 aspect knocking his NFL potential, but failed to realize what Michigan State lacked, and then how FSU's offense was constructed by Coach Norvell?
      FSU, had a huge run game, and we also had a huge beat on the opposite of the ball in Johnny Wilson, who was FSU's #1 check down option. THAT's why Coleman was used primarily for how he was used.
      Then, he is drafted by the Bills, who just loss two WRs and have a huge need at WR? Look, if the Bills were smart, they'd also draft FSU WR Johnny Wilson and that 3rd string WR from Ohio State and even the back-up at Washington!
      That added with the Bills' nearly perfect O-line, and a future HOF at QB, I only see positive momentum for the Bills, minus injury, of course.
      BTW, Keon Colemen, as a rookie, is already predicted to be the 12th WR picked in fantasy football! Why does that matter, the analytics, needs and talents states that he will be a BEAST!

    Keon Coleman was a predicted First Round pick and if it was any other year, he would have been, because of the huge number of QBs picked and the no need for a WR by any team who picked 15th to 32nd. Those are FACTS!
    How anyone can openly claim Keon Coleman is NOT a #1 WR in the NFL is as asinine as it comes!

  • @sourcingsailor4987
    @sourcingsailor4987 22 дня назад +2

    You claimed he is a slot receiver in the NFL? Yet, you claimed he has no pull-away speed, doesn't run routes, and takes plays off? Do you know what's required of a slot receiver?
    Dude, I am trying my best to give you the benefit of the doubt, but you remind me of someone who has never played the game, sitting on his couch, giving asinine analysis.
    One of your followers claim, your predictions have been on par, so I will go back and watch your older video to see if that holds up. I already can tell you, it may not.

    This creator literally cherry picks plays to forward his failed and flawed narrative?
    Next year, Keon Colemen will be the best rookie WR in the NFL, as the Bill's needs, their talented QB, their huge O-Line will literally aid Keon in developing extremely quickly!
    As a matter of fact, outside of either of the Top three QB's picked, I predict Keon Coleman to be the front-runner for Rookie of the Year!
