- John Cena's cunning tactics ensures he get the biggest possible NJPW contract after retiring from WWE as the Universal Champion in WWE 2K20 Story.
Cena returned at the Royal Rumble and eliminated 5 men before winning to book himself a spot in the main event of Wrestlemania. He opted to take on Braun Strowman and thus challenge for the universal championship.
After joining the Undisputed Era and making a seperate deal with The Boogeyman, Cena became the new universal champ at Wrestlemania 36. To the shock of the fans, Cena then relinquished that very title the following night on RAW and left the WWE with immediate effect.
This decision might have sounded a little erratic to some, but Cena wanted to prove that he still had it in the tank and that he could still be the face of the WWE (if he wanted to) -- John Cena's decision to vacate and leave the WWE as the undefeated champion also gave him even more negotiating power when agreeing a 5 PPV match contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Cena's first opponent in NJPW is none of other than Japanese legend, Jushin Liger. Liger has been on a ruthless tear of late as he approaches the final matches of his career.

This custom storyline features clips from both 2K19 & 2K20. The reason we still use 2K19 for some parts is because this years game is unmoddable, so alot of the cool cutscenes are not possible.

I wanna applaud the owner of channel for doing something different in this series. Cena as UE member and a truce with Boogeyman was intriguing but it was still feeling boring. Cena in NJPW will definitely save this series from underperforming. Send Cena to AEW soon too

It's god awful on consoles still. But there's a bunch of mods and patches for the PC that makes the game run properly.
