This is definitely one of the best I've seen you do - not just from a great pour and carve but from an artistic point of view the final sculpture is amazing!
It's amazing what a men can do driven by the pursuit of beauty. Also the fact that Blake turned a suffering career-ending injury into a catalyst for Art is mind blowing. You always had it there, didn't you? Best regards from Portugal.
This is absolutely beautiful! With each new piece I have a new favorite! Your work is so INCREDIBLE! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work with us! With every step I have a new appreciation for your work! I really love this!💥❤🙏
Your commentary on the frustrations of bringing your sculpture to life was entertaining! You’re immensely talented and perhaps one day I could proudly own one of your pieces. Thanks for sharing!
Seeing the struggles a carve costs makes seeing the finished piece even more rewarding. Id love to see a Alligator carve. Id say full sized but that would require like 3 or 4 separate molds and put together like a puzzle.
What a journey! I feel your pain when you see those bubbles, I have so many epoxy resin mishaps myself. But the final result outweighs all the troubles, you made another masterpiece.
Wow! The transitions of resin to wood from head to tail are phenomenal and you get even more of the true sensation of the turtle rising. Incredible work!
Really am amazed at the amount of patience you have with your sculptures, been a fan for a while now and love watching from start to the end piece of your sculptures. Your artistry is next level. Your commentary about your neighbors thinking you might be cooking meth had me in fits too Keep up the amazing work and keep inspiring.
One of my favorite woods for sculptures is buckeye burl, each tree can be so incredibly different that each and every piece is like a work of art in itself. Beautiful result you got here.
Love your videos and I like that you talk about the costs associated with the project. From the materials to time, I think it really showcases the amount of resources needed to complete such amazing works of art.
Love to see you carving a seahorse !! The turtle looks magnificent and redoing the bear equally incredible. The carving is a tough work and you have a great amount of patience.
I wondered if you were going to address the bison in the room! Related fact - here in the UK, a bison was born in the wild for the first time in 6000 years this week! Love the turtle and the amazing placement of the wood in the fins. Amazing work.
You are, truly, a wizard! As somewhat of a sculptor myself, I am, I am awed by your talent and skills. I can so appreciate the journey of this piece, with all of the challenges. I won’t presume to even say what you should do next but I’ll be there to see it, whenever you decide the next journey.
I just found you today. Your website blew me away. I LOVE "Old Red," the wolf, sea turtle, the bear & the bull you recently made. You definitely have a God given talent. Incredible work.
That you showed the failures, one have to endure along the way, is a biiiiig plus in my eyes! It shows, that everybody makes mistakes, and that you can learn from them! Thanks for this video fellow human :D
Oh I love this one, it has a more organic look compared to the sculptures using stacked square pieces of wood. Love your content, as always! thank you.
Old video, I know. But have you considered freezing some water bottles before you start big pours? These could then work as “cold batteries”, helping to keep the temperature down inside your fridge. Water has a very high heat capacity so just a few bottles along the edges of the fridge might make the difference in some situations. And of course, your plan to control the temperature of the epoxy “ingredients” will make an even bigger difference :)
I know this video is two months old, but if your still looking for recommendations of what to carve next, have you done a fox yet? I will be looking through all your videos because your content is very enjoyable. Keep up the good work 👍
I realize this is a year old, but the growth and lessons learned in this video alone is awesome. A lot of people give up on resin art or honestly don't bother perfecting it! I love the lift from the freezer!
I really like that you have shown your full process. You are an amazing artist and an inspiration for other artists. It all seems glamorous in a short video, but you showed how frustrating it can be to create art.
You did an absolutely amazing job, I love turtles, they are one of my favourite creatures..the only thing that could have made it pop more would have been a green tinge in the Epoxy..
i can not imaging the frustrations, the sleepless nights, the heart & head aches you went through to get this right.. but in the end. it is extremely rewarding .KUDOS. my goodness. another lovely sculpture. love the base too.. i looks gorgeous, i can't say this is my favorite, as all of your Pieces are SO BEAUTIFUL.. the only tiny thing i would do " if it were mine of course " i would use a coat of Varnish (the wood looks kinda dull), so both material would have the same surface luster. if that makes sense... thank you for sharing. another master piece.
I have to applaud your patience and dedication in this project! Very admirable! Personally I think that even with the bubbles, the 2nd attempt could have looked super cool! :D but man!The final sculpture really look amazing!
Hi from the UK… just want to say, you are a brilliant artist… the pieces you have made are masterpieces… idea for the sculpture maybe a mummy dolphin and her baby just a thought. Good luck with your new home xx
Absolutely stunning!! You asked for suggestions for your next project, I dearly love Pugs, and think their body shape and funny little faces would make a very interesting sculpture!!
What I Love about this one is how the portion of the turtle that is straight epoxy. It’s almost like that portion is above the water level. So awesome. My 5 year old son and I just recently came across your channel and he’s been watching you religiously since. Each animal he tells me he wants for Christmas. Haha!! Keep the videos coming!
This past week since I’ve found your channel I’ve been watching videos every night. It’s super satisfying to watch and you remind me a lot of my dad who passed away in 2022. You never give up even when it’s hard! Thanks for what you do! 🫶🏼
Love your work! I have checked out 3 of your video's T-rex head, rainbow trout, and this one, the turtle. The last two need eyes. Eyes are the portals to the soul. It gives them life. They almost go unnoticed in the clear epoxy. I am a metal artist and look at other mediums for ideas and techniques. You are very informative! great work!
That turtle sculpture is BAD @$$! Your work is awesome. I have enjoyed watching several of your videos. Can't wait to see what the next sculptures will be.
Sublime work with some obstacles, - but the Turtel is so graceful and i can feel her old age and many experiences down in the ocen ! Congrats and my greatest respect for xyour Art work !
Hi there. One of your videos was recommended to me while I was on an epoxy resin pour binge and I’ve been fascinated by your work since. You have incredible devotion to your projects 👏👏 I personally thought that the second attempt you made with the coral-like wood piece could have been salvageable, even with air bubbles. Living things still create air bubbles and currents underwater, so having bubbles within the sculpture would make the coral appearance more life-like. I would love to see the finished product using the pour (be it a turtle or another water-related animal) if you still have it. I look forward to watching more of your videos 🙌
Nice color execution. To get rid of the yellowing. Makes it look like glass or the blue ocean from space. Oh man. You have hit every problem, hope you learned from it. Also while using epoxy aren’t you supposed to shake the object to bring bubbles up. bubbles can look cool if it’s an underwater piece. It could look cool if you hollow out the bubbles and replace with colored bubbles or marbles. Everybody is so into perfection they forget that imperfections are apart of art. Each piece is different for that reason. I do love that you are showing all the fails with the wins. That’s what makes you so easy to watch. You are human. People are so focused on being perfect every time they touch something. That is not how life works. Love this channel. Thanks for giving me something awesome to watch.
Idk about all this epoxy work. I’ve only done little pieces were it takes almost nothing to fill in a hole or crevice. This is awesome. You really have it down. Awesome 👏🏽
Yesterday i watched a video from Smarter Every Day, and i learned something. If you screw up, do not discart the piece you are working on, but screw it up all the way till the end of the project you are working on. You can learn a lot about it!
I found your channel yesterday, I’m very impressed with your skill, but my 4yo girls are absolutely loving your videos. They did there first epoxy projects yesterday.
Beautiful work. Although it was costly and extremely frustrating for you, you didn't give up on the turtle. That in itself deserves a huge "pat on the back"! Love your artwork and videos.
Your sculptures are beautiful. I love the transparent nature of epoxy combined with the natural looking wood. Perhaps you could consider sculpturing Scottish Highland cow it would look so cool if you were able to capture how their fur is blown in a wind 🤩
A trick to keeping the fridge cool enough during the curing process is to fill the refrigerator with ice as much as possible. This will increase the thermal capacity and act as a thermal buffer. I'm not sure how much heat that epoxy produces, but I know it takes a lot of heat to melt ice.
A long hard road in the beginning but this is absolutely spectacular!!! How the resin and the wood flow together. An Amazing Sculpture of A Sea Turtle 🐢
Wow! Just…just wow❤❤❤ The line on the turtle where the epoxy meets the wood looks like the waterline, like it’s poking its head up out of some invisible, wooden ocean. So beautiful! This has become my new go-to channel when i open RUclips. Your sculptures are so awesome to see. I'd really like to see what you did with that piece you saved unless im just that far behind since i saw what you did with the bull.
You are so talented. You make beautiful art. Also thank you for showing us the missteps in the process. It’s encouraging to others to persevere through difficulties.
Absolutely stunning piece of art mate. All those set-backs early in the piece would quickly have been forgotten once you started to see what this was turning into.

I’m way late to this video and all of yours really but Blake, what an amazing job you do. My favorite might be the bear… I’m not sure they are all incredible. No, wait, maybe the swan. That one was super cool looking. Again, idk, they are all so majestic. 👏 great job. I know it’s a pain to film these, but I’m sure appreciative!
The bubbles and cracks from it curing are because you are pouring the whole mold all at once and its a fairly large ammount of epoxy. You have to do it in layers.
Hey Blake, what do you think about using a different colored epoxy for the eyes? I know it will not be simple, but I think it would make your sculptures look much more realistic.
Elk is my favorite North American big game animal. With your skills & attention to detail you can do an amazing trophy bull in a fluid pose. It would be nice to see a typical & non-typical antlers.
Another awesome carving. I would one day love to have one of your pieces in my home. You have a great talent for making these look very peaceful and majestic. Speaking of majestic, I honestly think it very obvious that the next creature, creation would be a large scale moose! We haven't seen any large woodland creatures yet and I say its only fair you represent something from the moose, or elk category!
@@BMSculptures You have done an octopus out of tires..... why not try a combo of an epoxy and tire art. Something new, and I personally think you could pull it off.
Hello Blake,i love your work,i think its just amazing! I would really like to see you carve a Michigan white tail buck head mount!!!!! I think this could really be awesome!A big 10 pointer would be awesome!
You teach us so much about resilience and excellence. And you know what? Turtles are resilient. Thanks Blake. That’s the perfect episode to celebrate the 300K🎉 Congrats !!
You are an incredible artist- always a pleasure watching your videos. Just wondering, can you not use the bubbled ones for something fun? As a fellow artist/perfectionist I know how hard it is when stuff doesn’t work out right but maybe embrace the imperfections and find something new and interesting? The reason I ask is another RUclipsr I love- NerdForge- made an epoxy 3D painting and the bubbles actually added an “underwater” feel to it. Unless something would be structurally unsound at the scale you work with. Anyhoo- absolutely love your creations!! Gorgeous sculpture ❤❤❤
Hi , im new to the channel and would realy like to know more about the preperation of wood when you dig stuff out , termite treatment etc i know you show it but could you maybe make a video explaining some situations and maybe some tips for other cnc guys who want to get into carving large sculptures realy like the channel, great content indeed and a big howdy from south africa
What do you want to see me carve next???

A Plymouth Roadrunner 🥰💕 BLUE.. EPOXY Please

I'd love to see a sculpture of 3 river otters at play!
