- Here's a painting I will soon sell at an auction.
I wonder what price it may hit 🤔
What do you think?

Around 300. The format is small. I usually sell my paintings (usually a3 format) for 150.
$500+ if framed. It also depends on your market. I’ve seen luxury markets sell stuff of less quality for double that. I know a gallery that will sell 5x7 watercolors framed to a larger scale for $500. I know some people judge price by hours, but this is tough since a skilled artist and watercolor are both fast. I use square inches like some of the other commenters.
That’s actually a great point! Watercolor can be quite fast, in a way that’s detached from the details / realism / complexity (: Also thank you so much 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I’d pay this too!
Just a thought, ...if time is a monetary value than I.A. is the most expensive. Because it give 4 or 6 pieces in half minute. I realy understand why time is a value in painting but shoudn't be a monetary value...It says more about the people who buys the pieces, they don't know what they are seeing.
Cool process. Priceless.
Thank you so much! It was great great fun 🙏😊
I’m absolutely hooked on those soft greys ❤
☺️
This is reminiscent of John Singer Sargent.
Exactly what I was thinking!
Thank you! 🙏😊
Many have commented similarly, and it's a huge compliment for me.
I think it has to do with the visuals of his period (mainly clothes), as well as my color choices here.
Depends on what you are willing to take for it. I calculate my time, archivalbility ( is that a word?lol) and how it has been matted or framed. So that is up to every artist. We all have seen too much asked for quick work and too little asked for months of work. I also note my needs and even am willing to barter, yes that system still exists and depends on one’s location. If I were in Europe especially mid to western part then people generally have more of an understanding and appreciation, not saying that no one where I lives does but they are usually by word of mouth.😊lovely wc Liron!
Thank you for sharing! ☺️🙏🏼🙏🏼 Great points
Well if it’s the original, at that size, then definitely 200-250, depending on the price of supplies. But if you’re selling prints of it (same size), from digital scans, then i’d say like $45. I envy your water color skills my man 🙏🏻
Thank you so much 🙏😊
I've yet to try selling prints, but perhaps that'll come too at some point.
As an aside, my first watercolors were terrible, trust me 😅
It gets WAY better once the basics become intuitive.
500 honestly if i had the money
Thank you so much! 😊🙏🏼
I wouldn't buy it at all.
It's a nice painting, but not that exceptional. It doesn't carry any particular emotionality or particular aesthetical skill, it's a "high beginner/low intermediate" painting.
It's something that speaks more to you than to me.
You didn't say what size or if it comes with the frame. If that's a typical 12x8" frame, im guessing maybe a 9x6"? Given your previous sales and the scope of the project, and including the frame you show, I would hope for USD$400-500. I would be happy to get $350-400 if it's a quick sale to someone in person.
Thank you! That's actually a wondeful estimate 🙏
I'd be happy to get that prices 😊
I think it's around the smaller size you mentioned (about 7"x9" I believe).
@@LironYan If it's your plan, I hope you get it sold for what you want! Good luck, brother!
Maby 100-200
Nice to see you back.
Thank you 🙏😊
The schedule has been a little patchy lately, haha.
We'll see where it goes and what routine it settles on (:
Be honest. 500 Is way too much. It seems like a practice piece of yours. I guess 200-250 is max for the size.
I sell some portraits too. Way cheaper. But I like to reach people all over the world. Not everyone has 500 bucks left for a picture.
250 isn’t bad at all, thank you! 😁
What style of portraits do you sell?
I know you’ve talked about pricing before but I still like to price by the square inch. And if framed I add the cost of the frame. So not sure how big this is, but I’d charge $3/sqin. Maybe more. Your talent is shining! People will study your art in school someday. ❤
Thank you so so much, big compliment for me 🙏😊
I like the price by dimensions idea! Especially as a starting point.
You can then choose to add a premium for paintings that took extra longer, or are more detailed / dear to you (:

Wow! ❤
125€
£175 unframed.
I’ll trade you a lovely painting of some goldfishes or a magic mountain🤔
I’d expect to pay $500 + depend on hrs put into it as well ❤
Thank you 🙏😊
100₹(1$) cause that's what I have 😋 I am broke
Haha thank you very much then! 🙏😊
$1500
I don't want look like troll and think a piece should be valued by things like:Did had you that idea? Is the composition yours? Are the colors just right? Where is your known style in this piece?
A click and a watch.
Haha I'll take what I can get 😛
5$
$175
Nice one ! 200 USD
Thank you! 😁
I personally don't value my own art. As in a modern age the artist's journey is the community. Everything else is a product. How much would someone pay for regular Van Gogh videos is the question? Along with, how many people will pay that on a regular basis. Here is a better question, today you paint the most amazing watercolour the world has ever seen, what value do you put on that work? Isn't it priceless? Why would you sell it? And at that point it means you have been pricing and selling substandard work for your whole artistic journey. Get out of the mindset of pricing and selling art work.
$100
$200-$400 USD
Thank you! I'd definitely be satisfied with the mid-upper end of that 😁
