Outside of “making love in the rain,” this is my favorite Janet track (yes I know it’s Herb Alpert) It’s the aura the production gives off more than anything. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are unreal
You are right that she didn't use any of the current new jack swing or the emerging hip-hop soul sound of Uptown Records on this. It's just pure Janet.
She also performed this on Saturday night live. You won't find it on RUclips but it's out there. It's definitely worth checking out just to hear her sing this live
I absolutely love rain also. I can sit and listen to it all day if I had too and when it thunders, I can crawl up on the sofa and listen to that also. So Beautiful. God's work. A fabulous Album.
Kendrick Lamar's song Poetic Justice off Good Kid Maad City samples this song and of course Poetic Justice is also the movie in which Janet Jackson starred in.
A incredible song. This song came with a special ambiance during this song. This RnB ballad was a very good love song and also a calm voice during the song. Not a ballad traditionnal like ''Again'' and ''Where Are You Now'', this ballad have a new sound of ballad. This song was timeless. For info, the music video exist two version, one with the original version and a another with the R. Kelly remix. The song also released in single and peaked n.2 in US charts
Since you like this sound check out the song Making love in the rain by Herb Alpert , the lead vocals is by a female artist Lisa Keith with Janet Jackson singing background vocals and it’s a Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis production
Michael Jackson is a king and Janet Jackson is the queen a pop music of the culture Kings and Queens a lot of people is not respecting Janet Jackson but she's my favorite I don't care what nobody say I love her to death as the same as I love Aaliyah and other female artists everybody always put Beyonce out all the time and not putting Jenna Jackson out you know
I love Janet to death but Madonna is the real Queen of Pop. And its funny cuz I always thought Janet was like the black version of Madonna down to the singing style, pop hits, dance routines and acting career, plus neither were great vocalists but still put it in. Janet is just ONE of the Queens of Black Pop (if you wanna call that a category) along with Diana Ross, Beyonce and Whitney Houston.
@@Israel-nb7ip Actually Janet is MUCH MORE than the QUEEN of pop. Janet Jackson has attained 10 hot 100 singles, 16 hot r&b #1 singles, 20 hot dance/club #1 singles . She is the only artist in history to produce 7 top five hits from one album (Rhythm Nation). Holds the record for the most top 10 entries on U.S. Billboard 100 single chart . And last but not least, Janet Jackson is one of only 3 artists that have had #1 ALBUMS in EACH of the last 4 decades, the other 2 are Barbara Streisand and Bruce Springsteen. Madonna is not at Janet's level YET, MAYBE she can reach Janet's level one day.
@@Winnib7479 lol Madonna isn't on Janet's level? Ok...check the numbers since you want to detail accomplishments. Madonna is the highest selling female artist of all time irrespective of genre having sold more than 250 million albums. She's in a category with The Beatles, Elvis, Michael Jackson, etc. The only other woman in that category is Rihanna and that's mostly cuz she came up in an era that includes digital sales and streams. I love Janet but you're delusional. Madonna is her own individual music entity.
Love madonna love janet their different just glad they both exist in my lifetime. Love both. When I listen to each one, I feel their the ultimate. It's like choosing between air and water, father or mother, why compare just appreciate and be thankful.
This was my favorite song off this album. I was 18 when I copped this the day it dropped and remember liking it but not thinking it was a great album and I played it a lot especially in my college dorm room when girls were hanging out. Gotta give it another listen to see if its evolved to classic status over time. A lot of people who call things classic are usually just hype off the nostalgia of their youth or whatever they were going through at the time. To me a classic is much more than that.

This song is very nice by Ms. Jackson, smooth and jazzy/sexy. Thanks for playing it.

Great song..
The video for this track is great, especially the supersaturated primary colors. You're gonna love it.
Shoutout to Kendrick and Drake for sampling this hit for the song Poetic Justice🔥🙌🏾

For the song "If," on this album you need to check out the music video (whether you post it or not).

Man. You forgot The Dramatics (I Wanna Go Outside In The Rain)!!
And New Edition (Can You Stand The Rain)
SWV Rain
If this shocks you then you'll be downright discombobulated and flabbergasted as you continue to delve into music that's older than your generation.🙂

Silk for the brain.
You love rain 🌧 💙? So do I which is why I moved to Oregon. Does it rain much where you are?
Yes in Louisiana it rains a lot and when it rains it RAINS.
I’m sure I’ve made a baby to this song LOL. Classic. You should check out Maxwell - Til The Cops Come Knockin. Another classic baby maker.
Did that one as well.
Just Jammin' man you be on it LOL!
Great reaction! If you love similar vibes in romantic songs, please react to En Vogue "Waitin On You" from their debut album "Born To Sing"
please react to and on and on Janet Jackson it was on her Janet remixed

You didn’t recognize kendrick lamar sample?
Nope but I do now that so many people have been talking about it.
Just Jammin' lol
Did you watch a low down dirty shame with the wayans brothers and jada pinkett that's a classic on God
Bruh I've been trying to watch that movie on my own for the longest. It's just so hard to find anywhere.
Its online on m4uhd.com wit alot of other movies
I don't like watching them online really either because all the annoying ads. I try to download them but if it comes down to it I'll watch online.
R.kelly anytime anyplace remix is way better than this version.
Not by a long shot
Hell to the nawl! The remix removes the bridge which takes away from the entire song.
can u go back to Reacting to Hip hop music instead of just R&B
