The WYZE instructions are oddly incorrect. For CAM PAN v1, rename the firmware file: FIRMWARE_660R_F.bin For CAM PAN v2, rename the firmware to: demo.bin 1. Unplug the unit, and put the SDCard with the new firmware in the unit slot. 2. While unit is still unplugged, hold the setup button for 3-4 seconds. 3. While holding the setup button still, plug in the unit. 4. Continue to hold the setup button for another 15 seconds. If it works your camera will show a flashing yellow light. Hope this helps anyone that was confused.
Had one brand new that wouldn't show any lights at all after letting the firmware update, contacted Wyze support who immediately shipped a replacement. I found a comment on another video mentioning that the camera can become "overturned" and fail to power back on. I rotated the base of the camera where the micro USB connects to line up with where the SD card slot is - then when plugging the micro USB cable back in, the camera powers on. Mine recenters, then shuts off, so that might not work for you. EDIT: I found that recentering was possibly causing strain on the wiring to the micro USB connection in the base; whenever the camera is centered it shuts off after a few seconds. I disconnected the pan motor and rotated the base so that the micro USB connection lines up with the slot. Camera works with tilt function.
