In "Safety / Advanced Safety Settings" you can switch from 'Return to home' to 'Descent' or 'Hover'. Then it can go higher. It wil not go up in an emergancy.
I think it is great for indoor flight because of bottom sensors, almost perfectly stable and you can do some nice 360 panorama with great details or HDR using RAW, in like 1 minute. If you can not handle the thing properly i don't think it's a good reason to recommend anyone else not to do it ether. And with prop guards it is virtually uncrashable.
Fair point. I just don’t think it beats a tello indoors really which is purpose designed for indoors. I guess with prop guards it’s probably ok but I can see the gimbal not being fully protected too.
There's a good RUclips video with three types of propeller guards that might be of interest, one of them like a huge cage and protects the gimbal too, I went ahead and ordered though the original DjI propeller guards. Hopefully my skill is good enough to keep the gimbal from being hit
I have flown it indoors without inconveniences, work, logically it is not to put it 10 cm from the wall and less without propeller guard, if you do not know how to use it, it does not mean that it is useless.
It’s more about the size of the space and how quickly the wall comes up on the drone even at low speeds. The Mini 2 doesn’t come with propeller guards either. It’s just not that good an idea and it isn’t really designed for indoor use. Much better to get a tello or similar.
Personally, I would NOT even consider this indoor fight practice (WITHOUT PROP GUARDS). These protectors are a game changer. Then you have a 24/7 place to fly and keep your skills up. Perhaps even add some circle whoops to navigate thru. Amazing technologies these quad copters. Thanks for the video. Oh, just keep in mind if you are flying outside with the guards on that you may very well be over the 249 gram threshold for licensing requirements. ENJOY this wonderful hobby. Greetings from Ontario, Canada.
Yeah I just replaced three pairs of propellers that had rash on them from flying inside. It'll fly 4km and back no problem, but won't fly in my apartment worth a shit
Thanks for sharing. I personally wouldn't attempt unless in a much larger space. In the past have used my regular gimbal to 'simulate' a drone and that worked well enough. I have seen the Mini used really well in large interiors though, so would not rule out inside filming as such.
I fly my mini 2 with my mavic mini prop guard and i fly every were in the house and its even more fun flying it in the morning awakening everybody up .
I dissassembled a mini 2, the gimbal is held by 4 rubber mounts, you probably knocked it out of one of these...hopefully didnt break an arm. You were doing great until you tried to get fancy. lol Oh you fixed it great.
Enjoyed watching! Glad it's not damaged, just needs gimbal calibration. In the camera settings. Check the props also, any slight chips or cracks can be catastrophic in flight 100m up⚠️😯 There is also a RTH settings feature in the bottom.of the first 'safety' tab menu, I thinknit's called advanced features or settings, RTH can be set to home point, hover or land.😎👍 I've added your channel, hopefully you'll check out my Mavic Mini related channel. 😎👍
@@StevesDrones I just received the mini 2 in the mail recently, wouldn't have done so without watching good reviews like yours, but I crashed quite a bit sense, so that's definitely believable.
FAILURE : Flying a Mavic Mini/DJI Mini 2 in a normal mode without propeller guards indoor is a bad idea. SAFETY : Always use the propeller guards when flying a drone indoor, no matter what. Get yourselves new propeller guards from Amazon for your Mini 2. Smh
Yes that's what I said in the video. The Mini 2 doesn't come with them as the Mini 1 did which is a shame. I don't actually think they would have made any difference in this case though. The propellers were fine. The gimbal was the issue.

also no tripod mode the mini 3 pro update adds that feature so it may be far more able to fly indoors.

@@johnk12345100 how'd you do indoors?
@@StreetN1ckel can you expand on that question?
i got the guards for the drone and fly indoors. very windy indoors and a bit challenging to fly inside.

I think with propeller guards it may have done better but I still think there is a risk of the gimbal getting hit still.
you also calibrate the imu
Ouch. But fortunately you got it fixed by recalibrating the gimbal. I suppose the gimbal that was affected, not the camera.
Yeah I can’t really see any damage. The main problem is you start being paranoid about how level it is lol.

Yeah the house wasn’t big enough really. It can be done in larger places but it’s still pretty simple to make a mistake and crash very quickly.
Honest review, i like it.
Thanks very much

I think but not sure the horizon was ever the same afterwards so perhaps I will look at what you've said.
Super! Nice video 😊 liked & subscribed, thanks for sharing 👍
Very kind of you. Thanks very much.
You don't need to find the option it's right there on your remote
I’m not sure what you are referring to but I was looking to see if I could disable RTH. I’m aware you can enter cine mode from the controller.

Yeah I think I’ve got it recalibrated now. It seems to be level. All else looked good to me. Will check out your channel.
I fly inside all the time with no problems.
I fly my mini 2 & mini 3 indoors all the time... you don't need to fly indoors... lol 😆
Hy
Yeah definitely not with the space I had in that house lol
You will get much higher retention if you just cut the 19 sec brand intro, trust me bro
Thats a big RIP
seemed as if you purposely crashed it though.
The drone is fine. The gimbal just needed recalibrating. I definitely didn’t crash on purpose lol.

Did you watch the video? It was flown in cinematic mode.
@@StevesDrones but the propellors caught the door frame and hurtled the drone downwards. With prop guards it would have been a mere bump.
i fly my dji mini 2 perfectly indoors😀

Oh did the Mini 3 come out? Look forward to your review Mike.
