- Brian Voss is a legend of the game who had an incredibly long and successful career. He finished with 25 PBA titles but went on a 12 year run where he won at least 1 title every season. He is what I would call a "split conversion specialist" as he seems to be able to pick up incredible tough spares like the 7-10 more than other pros. But Voss like all bowlers has had his bad moments.
In this video I look at what I think are the worst moments of Brian Voss' career on TV.

Brian Voss was made for primetime bowling. He showed great passion and flair, and he almost always was clutch when he needed to be.
Voss is a bowling legend. Some of the best form this sport has ever seen. Also loved his humor and his F bombs on TV lol very relatable

Bad moments or not, that dude had the best head of hair ever. I myself bowl like shit and am also follically challenged 😅
Couldn't agree more. Voss has an excellent head of hair. I even posted about that on the Robert Smith video from Right Lane where I said he's just like the werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's, his hair was perfect.
Remember that the Bowlers with the Highest Rev Rates have been one handed Bowlers [ example; Robert Smith ]
awesome vid, been watching your stuff from the start. just a tip for the vid; it would be easier to understand the story telling if the videos shown lined up in sync with the moment you talk about, like frame by frame in the match. Idk if that makes sense and I'm not trying to be critical. Keep up the great work man!👍

Hard to spend your whole life trying to make a living learning to throw it right just to have a twelve year old kid stand next to you and beat you with a stupid tricky-poo some Aussie came up with.
@@zedsodead Bowling started using the middle finger and thumb. Some cheater added an extra finger hole to score better. The rest add the hole as well. Then Mark Roth comes in and rips the cover off the ball to score better. The game changes to keep up with his kind of play. Pete Weber uses a golf glove for better grip and score more. Yes they all used one hand through their approach. Belmo comes in with a style that scores better. People follow. And to your point that twelve year old might not be bowling if it wasn't for the style so that's not a bad thing. It's within the rules so no use complaining about it. And no I'm not a two handed bowler.
To be fair, most of us started out rolling the ball with 2 hands then we grew up. 😂
@@remoevans7847 In the days before automatic pinsetters alleys had smaller sized bowling balls for kids. As they got older they could go up in size. Kind of like going from a kids ball to adult basketball. So the progression from one handed as a kid was more natural. Even though a six pound ball is light it's still cumbersome for a small child so two hands is easier to play the game. So why change something if it's what you were used to as a child. Some will go to one handed but that's the players choice.

There is no such thing as a worst moment on TV when it includes Brian Voss.
I saw the whole title match with the gutter ball recently, I was pretty surprised
If you make enough telecasts, you're going to have some bad moments.
One that was a bad time for Voss on TV was against Mark Roth in 1995. Voss had no trouble getting his ball to hit the pocket but the carry wasn't there. He had one ten pin that he missed then a bunch of 9 pin spares that could've been strikes which would've meant that he would've beaten Roth. The ones commenting said they haven't seen anyone get hosed like Voss. With that many shots that hit the pocket but come up empty. It was the Forester Open semi=final match.
Hard to knock a legend like Voss, but I seem to remember a match against David Ozio at the ABC Masters (I think) where Voss needed to convert the 2-4-5 in the 10th and chopped it, giving the match to Ozio. I think. Voss was very angry at himself and even Mike Durbin commented on how he'd never seen Voss so upset.
Can You do Worst of EJ Tackett or Jakob Butturff because I think they both have been left out quite a bit

The Right Lane, That was an awesome video on the 3 Worst Moments from Brian Voss. Also, The Moments that stood out were the Title Matches of the 2004 U.S. Open against Pete Weber, and the 1997 Pba National Championship against Rick SteelSmith. Also, the other worst moments that should have been featured were the Title Matches of the 2002 Greater Detroit Open against Walter Ray Williams Jr, and the 2003 Tar Heel Open against Pete Weber. Also, I am looking forward to the next Best or Worst Moments from the Bowlers from the Past Seasons on the Pba and Pwba Tours. Also, Brian Voss is one of the best bowlers on the Pba Tour.

Of course, Voss' worst moment wasn't on tv, but on a smooth brained blog back in 2011.
6:57 Voss was NOT frustrated with himself; this was the match where he went on a tirade during the show, going so far as to grab a camera, point it at himself, and say “ban sanded bowling balls!” And he’s right; they absolutely should do that even today.
Enigmazero is right. Voss said later he was pissed because Loschetter was using an ultra dull ball during warmups and practice to open a hole in the pattern, then used his regular ball to bounce off the hook spot. Loschetter's sanded ball was also being played on the line Voss wanted to use, and it's why you see Voss's ball going high so often.

I thought the 05 World Championship would've been #1. Between playing the lanes wrong, his mental breakdown, and ranting about sanded bowling balls. He does have a point but it wasn't the time or place.
Sanded balls should be banned. Saw them used at Nationals this year. All it did was make it way harder for non pros and way easier for pros. The tournament is supposed to be for regular bowlers.
@@TraumaER Okay, so should we ban urethane too for fucking up lanes for others? Grow a pair, for Christ's sake... Adjusting to situations is a part of bowling.
@@NateCraven318if you feel that way, I will be sure to use 100 grit on a reactive and then use my spare ball so all the oil is down on the backend for you to enjoy. Good luck!
@@TraumaER Therein lies the issue; I'm a 300RPM power-stroker, and actually *benefit* from oil carry-down. Nothing on the other side for the lefties, though.
@@NateCraven318 well I'm around 400 RPM and tired of all the BS bowling and Bowlero has turned the sport into. It's bad enough that any moron with a brain can hook a ball. What Voss doesn't like is that the latest technology made the learning curve 0. I've seen 1 and 2 handed bowlers average 175+ after just a couple of years of bowling. The only time I feel an adrenaline rush is when I bowl local or regional tournaments on flat patterns. Then we see who can really bowl accurate.
