Curry was put on the map with his performance in the 2008 NCAA March Madness Tournament. But this game at the Garden was what let everyone know that he is a superstar
I hate the slander Mark gets…he is the reason Steph became Steph and Draymond became Draymond! Kerr benefited from all of the wonderful things Mark did! Kerr turned out to be a great coach but give Mark his roses too!
@@ti84satact12 Mark Jackson barely played Draymond. Kerr benched David Lee and everyone was so confused but then Draymond was fully unleashed. Then the death lineup was made as well when Iggy joined
@@ti84satact12 Lol Steph would have become steph regardless. Mjax did almost nothing for Draymond, Kerr was the one who unleashed him. You clearly never heard of all the awful locker room trouble Jackson caused. Exactly! They gave so much credit to Steve Kerr when Mark Jackson literally handed it to him in a silver platter. All they need was 1 more year together.
The last year New York actually is a good team and win a playoffs series in 21st century. They should thanks Melo giving hope them for those three years could compete something.
I'll always remember this as the Curry breakout game, but I had totally forgotten this very weird overlap period where the fifth starter with Curry, Thompson, Barnes and Green was... Andris Biedrins. (In one of his final NBA games ever, too)

This might be the game he took Lee's spot and thats crazy with Lee being an all star at the time. Mark Jackson deserves credit for the risky switch up in the lineup
In my opinion he gotta have an all time great finals performance to be better than magic all time, not another ring, just like a clutch run by him or a game winner in the finals.
You cannot bring a whole career down to 4-7 games. This guy has just turned the NBA round and changed the way we understood the game. Plus, he is a silent leader and a great teammate, Warriors have always been scum without him, even with KD there
rafa 02 it shows how great his team is, that he won 3 rings with no mvps. The playoffs are the most important thing, Magic performed. So has Steph, but how is curry better ? Magic also has 3 regular season mvps to curry 2. More championships.
As great of a game Steph had. It’s important to recognize raymend Felton’s effort in the last 2 minutes. Block, steal, (missed 2 FT) but rebound on his missed FTs all to secure the win. A testament to not giving up and getting the win when it mattered most.
And the Dubs still lost because they played Carl Fucking Landry at center for half the game. I remembered all of the Klayups from this year and into the next, I forgot how they gave solid minutes to awful players like RJ, Landry, and Biedrins. Such a difference from the Bogut/Iguodala upgrades the following year.
He had 38 points just before this game against the Pacers and made 7 out of 10 threes, which was his highest at the time. Then, in the next game, he set a new career-high score of 54 points, making 11 out of 13 threes that night. Watching the game felt like a movie.
