when me and my grandpa used to trap, the bobcats were always the toughest to figure out haha. we used mainly foot traps so it was real tedious on how and where you set the trap at in relation to the scent hole.most memorable catches were a double set where we caught two blonde coyotes next to each other. also the coal black two that we caught. should of mounted the coal black ones but they got sold for a few pennies haha thats how it seemed anyway. not very much money in it around here. was something to do and it "paid" for itself so

I put boxes out for fisher here in NY where I live right on Vermont border, season runs a month long during rifle season deer, I lose fur and traps because of rifle hunters.

Same in Maine , lost many traps, we have to use big bulky boxes with a 5 - 6 inch opening, trapping association ain’t helping they are accomplices to every new regulation

Wish we could use them boxes , our laws are bad in Maine, Maine was never linx territory and all the sudden they are protected but trapped across the border in Canada lol

We have the same issues here. South end of their range happens to be on the wrong side of a border. Luckily I'm outside of the lynx zone.

hello, thank you for the video!! super interested in getting set up w/ the boxes and the system you are using for the cats here in the south... do you sell the boxes? if not, would you share the dimensions of the boxes and share some info of how you set them, what bait you use, etc???? we are just looking at predator control in our hunting leases...

My favorite trapping channel on the Tube! Scratches all my brain itches. Your organization and set repeatability are exactly how I like to trap. You just do it on a shear scale that I cannot duplicate. Kudos and keep the videos coming!!! Are all your conibear pans hardwood?

    • @TheLordoftheNorth

All my pans are rough sawn oak.

I thought about trapping bobcat 5 or so years ago, have a good size reservoir n river area lots of em hear. For some reason the pelts were supposedly worth a lot of money from California?? Trapping bobcats was outlawed in Cali. 4 or 5 years ago.
Anybody know why a Cali cat was worth a lot of money?

In Germany you go to prison for the way you hunt. Trap hunting is strictly prohibited and bobcats are protected by law.
Differnet countries, different hunting. Dont get me worong. I'am a hunter myself-

Maybe it is time to develop yourself, instead of following others, by being thoughtful and respectful of others. By the way, when I say people /animals, I mean animals. Many human animals have no respect for the non human animals. Life is life is life, respect life. Kindness is a better way.
