Beau descends and then climbs Rose Garden

This is from day one of our March 2016 Moab ride. Rose Garden hill is a nasty long hillclimb full of rocks. It is steep and a fail off the side is not something anyone wants to do. Beau has wanted to climb this hill for years, as it is one of the few he had not yet conquered in Moab. This year, we had no Jeeps in our way, so as soon as we reached the hill at the top, he quickly descended, then turned right around and went back up. Beau isn't much for words, so the few he utters at the end reveal the true difficulty of this climb. We had 18 riders in the group. No one else attempted this ascent.

I've ridden up RGH twice. Once on a '93 XT350 in '06 and the second time on an '08 XR650L a with OEM balled, stock dual sport tire in '08. I didn't drop the XT but dropped the XR about 3 times on the way up ... It is a tough ride.

At first I wondered why you didn't take the line to the right. Then I looked at the drop off. Do you ever put your bike in neutral and Coast down the hill? Sometimes it can be easier. Just saying ,,,

Great job on the climb! I climbed it a couple years ago on my 350, tough as hell! The camera doesn't show how insanely steep and loose that sucker is!

I would not even try to go down that!! I would try climb it though looks fun and really hard :)
