    Personal I prefer Versace Dylan blue, because I like the versatility. Four seasons fragrance, daily use, even at night. You can wear it in the office, you can wear it in the gym. Perfect in any occasion

    Steven, I find it pretty interesting that many people find these two fragrances similar. Yes, there are some similarities but I think Alberto Morillas had set out to combine the best aspects of Bleu de Chanel and Sauvage with Dylan Blue and he seems to have succeeded. To me, Dylan Blue is different enough from the other two to not be redundant to own all three. They're all ultra mass appealing and super pleasant that I can wear on so many days and occasions.

    Versace Dylan Blue is about half the price of Dior Sauvage these days, so it sounds like a no brainer to go with the VDB for an everyday signature or office scent. I don't own it yet but after watching all of the good reviews, I've made my mind up to buy it! It's only $80 Australian dollars here, so about $54 USD for 100ml.

    Great review! Here’s my take after owning both of them for the summer. Sauvage is idea for date, dinner, socializing. Dylan Blue is great for everything including office where I would never wear Sauvage to the office. Im not meaning to sound pretentious but when I go out for dinner or drinks I get hit on by woman often and while wearing Sauvage I get compliments. While wearing Dylan Blue i don’t get compliments but Versace pour homme.has been a second place compliment getter for the summer. Even though Dylan Blue doesn’t get me compliments it’s become my favorite all-around fragrance.

    Love this comparison. I sampled Sauvage EDP and while I enjoyed it my wife actually HATED it so Dylan Blue is something that I’m interested to try to see if she would like. I’ve heard Ambroxan can be a love or a hate and for her it must be a hate 😂

    I have both fragrances in my collection. Big similarity gives the ambroxan that's for sure. But I like the incense note with some violet leaf vibe in the Dylan Blue. Both are gorgeous and versatile. I also don't like that popularity status of Sauvage but I decided to purchase that fragrance. Sauvage won't be a top fragrance after several days I suppose because od synthetics. But it's very creative and beautiful creation by Demachy, that's a piece of history.

    I’ve only smelled them on blotters, but to my nose they weren’t even remotely alike (don’t know what concentration they were though).. Dylan blue smelled fresh and masculine, like the typical shower gel for men, whereas Sauvage smelled like burnt rubber and made me almost nauseous. Am I alone in thinking they smell totally different? Could it be a paper vs skin issue? Really curious.

  • @Caio18ish
    @Caio18ish 3 года назад +79

    I love them both but Versace Dylan Blue just has that incensy, blue, soapy vibe that smells amazing when it dries down, especially on the clothing, and to me is just as a huge projector as Sauvage. Dior Sauvage gets boring and generic when it dries down, but the opening is awesome.

    Love your vids Steven! I just got an Oct 2020 bottle of Dylan Blue and I’ve been unbelievably anosmic to it from the first spray (or it’s a bad batch?). It’s like getting a refill on my Coke with club soda, the intense fizzy blast is there and I can “feel” it in my nose, but I only get faint hints of actual “flavor” from the time I spray it until the next day. With other scents I go anosmic to (i.e. Explorer) I can fully smell everything in great depth for the first hour or two, before I can no longer detect it. I sampled DB two years ago and I could totally smell it (I did have a mild case of COVID and have been wearing many more Ambrox heavy scents since then). Anyone else have a similar problem?

    Howdy 😀. Really enjoy the videos. I know that I'm a little late to the party and in reality I'm speaking (typing) for two people (myself and my husband). Both fragrances are wonderful. But, if I can only choose one.... 10 out of 10 times it's Versace Pour Homme Dylan Blue. It checks all of the boxes. Scent. Versatility. Price. It's warm. It's cool. Casual, yet buttoned up. So fresh, but a little dark(gotta be the incense),too. Absolutely LOVE how it smells. This, in no way detracts from Dior. Anywhere VDB can be worn, well.... Savauge can be worn as well. To each their own. But again, if I can ONLY choose one (for the purpose this video)..... Versace it is.

    Even ignoring price, I think I'd still choose Dylan Blue, and not because Sauvage is "everywhere" (I wouldn't mind wearing a fragrance that everyone else is wearing if its really good!). I just hate how screechy Sauvage is in the opening, it actually assaults my nose and gives me a bit of a headache with the strong peppery chemical blast. I really enjoy the drydown though, the warm slightly sweet and fresh ambroxan with woody touches. But the opening... that thing seriously makes Sauvage unwearable on me unless I wear an N95 for the first 10 mins or so 😂

    My picks:
    Summer office fragrance: Dylan blue - lighter and brighter
    Winter office fragrance: Dior sauvage EDT - heavier and stronger in colder weather
    Everyday outing and days off: YSL Y EDP - sweeter and more casual all arounder
    Special occasions and date nights: Dior sauvage exilir

    Versace Dylan blue and Chanel eau extreme are better options in terms of smell and versatility in my opinion. Dior Sauvage edt is my girlfriends least favorite and I also find it to be very metallic and off-putting. I feel that Chanel allure homme sport and Versace pour homme are better options for the summer... Prada carbon is better than Sauvage to my nose as well. I don't think Sauvage edt is not worth the price, but the edp and Parfum are better. Would still stick with Prada carbon over Sauvage.
