YP time travelled to get audio clips from Reagan himself. The Soviet part gave me chills, the scene of nuclear missiles launching is terrifying, especially when Russia turned fascist 💀
Great work. I felt the nostalgic air of the 1980s from the video. This video doesn't mention my home country, Japan, but at that time Japan was at the end of the Showa era, and the economy was booming with the bubble economy. Japan has strengthened its economic advance into Southeast Asia, and was criticized by Japanese leftists as a "second invasion." It was also the time when trade friction with the United States reached its peak, and the Japanese were ridiculed as "economic animals" by the West. The prime minister of Japan at the time was the conservative Yasuyuki Nakasone. In 1987, he decided to privatize the Japanese National Railways, where the labor union was extremely strong. Nakasone's reforms were successful, as JNR's labor union had caused passenger riots in the 1970s through repeated delays and sabotage, and had been abandoned by most Japanese citizens in the 1980s. However, if that were not the case, we cannot deny the possibility that this would have caused a left-wing rebellion in Japan as well. This video does not include Japan, Southeast Asia, Africa, or the Middle East as targets for the new Russia. If Japan had escaped a nuclear attack by the new Russia, it may have been in a position to dominate the world economy based solely on its economic power, just like the current People's Republic of China's "One Belt, One Road" initiative. . In the Japan-US trade negotiations of this era, Ronald Reagan made a thorough attack on Japan's economic strength, and showed moves to block Japan's external expansion, especially in the field of semiconductors. If the world crisis of 1987 had caused the United States and the Soviet Union to fall together, what would have happened to Japan? While I am excited, I am also terrified. This is because I remember that at the same time as Japan was economically strong at the time, there was also a crazy tendency to say, "Anything will do as long as you can make money." From the 1970s to the 1980s, Japanese capital and products swept over Western countries, causing major trade friction. That's because Japan abandoned its pre-World War II military ambitions and focused all its energies on economic development and technological development. The left wing of Japan was active in the anti-war movement against the Cold War in the United States, but unlike today, many Japanese had no interest in their country's foreign policy or defense policy. However, among Japanese businessmen, the slogan for energy drinks became popular: "Can you fight 24 hours a day?" And everyone was working like a madman. Japan today may be less of an international power than it was in the late 1980s. However, I also think that returning to that "era of economic madness" is not necessarily a happy thing for Japanese people.
In 1987, there was no EAS system in Japan. However, in news such as NHK, there was an "extraordinary news" (emergency broadcast chime) that started with a characteristic jingle. The same jingle was used at the outbreak of war between Japan and the United States in 1941 and the death of Emperor Showa in 1989. When the jingle rang, the Japanese felt the same sense of tension that Europeans and Americans feel about EAS.
Even if Japan did not receive any hits. The radiation and nuclear winter would have absolutely devastated it. Crop failure, contaminated water destroying fishing, not to mention there would be almost nobody left it could trade with. And I doubt they had more than say a week of food in reserve. That would have caused massive food riots, and likely a return to warlords before finally most of the population faded away. Even IF somehow the farmers knew to switch to crops like beets that were better suited to growing in this hellish new world. The citizens of the cities would starve and would flow out to the countryside in desperation. That would lead to destroyed crops. Fights and looting, And the government would not be able to keep things under control. Especially once the military starts to starve themselves. Basically the entire northern hemisphere in this scenario would be devoid of civilization. There would be no powerhouse economies ready to take over what is left of the world. And even the southern nations would be far too busy trying to survive than make any kind of attempt to capture the ruined north. Likely not for a century. I do think there is a way it could have been mentioned in this video. Lets say in this 80s scenario. The world economic crisis has badly crippled Japan's export industry. The far right seizes on this opportunity and says Japan should return to being an empire. They seize power and then try to ally with this new Russia but at this point apparently Russia has decided on its own to launch. Leaving Japan on its own. Everyone is too busy to care about this new Japanese Empire but with massive crop failure and a collapsing society. This new Japan was not able to launch any kind of military operations before it fell apart. Again not trying to be insulting. Japan in the 80s was indeed an economic powerhouse. It is just that in the 80s a nuclear exchange would be so extreme that it not getting any hits would not even matter. Oh not part of the fictional scenario but Indeed returning to that economic era would be bad for Japan in my opinion. The nation already has a serious problem with people basically living at their jobs. And that has led to the population rapidly getting older. In the long run it means higher taxes and more demand for care for the elderly than what it can provide. Now if that economic event happens while at the same time there is lots of reform to prevent the kinds of issues that cause people to only think about their jobs. That would work. I just don't want to see Japanese culture fade over the decades because its population has declined so much.
@@kes7774 How did they announce serious events like earthquakes and tsunamis? I had read years ago there was a mistake with the processing of fugu and they sounded the alert to warn local residents not to eat it. Did they do the same type of warning in the 80s?
@@AbhChallenger Certainly, if a nuclear winter happens, no one can survive. I think you understand the international position of Japan in the 1980s. At that time, Japan was economically powerful, but the military aspect was too dependent on the United States, so international remarks were low. And in economic negotiations against the United States, Japan had to compromise on disadvantaged demands if the military alliance was taken out. At that time, conservatives such as the Liberal Democratic Party said, "It would be okay if there was a Japan -US alliance." Conversely, leftists such as the Japanese Socialist Party and the Japanese Communist Party said, "If there is Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution, there will be no war." Therefore, the Japanese Self -Defense Force had only very old military equipment until about 20 years ago. Even in the 2020s, the Self -Defense Forces can defend in their own territory, but their counterattacks and external expeditions are very limited. The ballistic missile defense equipment and the J -alert EAS have been developed since North Korea launched ICBM in the late 1990s. Until then, it was hardly discussed in Japan. Therefore, I think that your opinion that "even if nuclear weapons hit Japan or even if you escape it, the overall result will not have much effect" is appropriate.
@@AbhChallenger In Japan, there was no EAS or Earthquake early vigilance system for civilians until the emergency earthquake bulletin was developed in 2004. In 1989, the Tokaido Shinkansen dedicated warning system (UrEDAS) was put into practical use, but there was only a function to stop the railway emergency. The committee, which predicts the Tokai earthquake through surveying crustal deformation, began activities in the 1970s. However, the committee only announced the press release on a regular basis and did not have a bulletin like EAS. For this reason, in Japan in the 1980s, the following two types were used for breaking news and disasters that were announced. A method in which telop subtitles are displayed with different warning sounds for each broadcasting station while playing regular programs. And it is a method of broadcasting extraordinary news by interrupting regular programs. ruclips.net/video/zgN6-BQBr98/видео.html The video was reported by a private broadcasting station's All Nippon News Network (ANN) about the crash of 123 Japan Airlines flights in 1985. This is an unusual case where telop subtitles and temporary news were used simultaneously. NHK basically used a similar method. When Emperor Showa died in 1989, a few months ago his vital sign was displayed regularly in subtitles during a television program. I remember it was a very strange situation. At a private television station, Japan's unique news program called "Wide Show" was involved in real -time reports of incidents, accidents and disasters. If a major incident occurs in Japan, Wide Show enters a special news system. Many reporters went to the scene and continued live broadcasting for hours, so the Japanese were able to watch the situation while watching it. I have been watching this wide show in the Great Hanshin -Awaji Earthquake in January 1995 and the forced investigation of Aum Shinrikyo in March 1995.

One small problem I've noticed in this video and some of your other videos is that you often say "50 continental states", but we only have 48 continental states. Hawaii is just an island so it's not connected to the continent and Alaska is not touching other US states so it's not considered a continental state.

Very Creative! Guess What? I CREATED MY FIRST EAS SCENARIO!
haven't finished the video yet, BUT HOLY SHIT THE PHILIPPINES EAS. THE TTS IS IMMACULATE. EVERY WORD PRONOUNCED CORRECTLY AND FLOWED NATURALLY. JUST OSNDKSMCODDK
I don't know why this didn't come up on my notifications! You're INCREDIBLE at what you do, and this was ANOTHER homerun. Keep up the fanstastic, scary, and at this rate, potentially accurate work!! :) :)
This is so interesting....keep up the great work!
I was born in 87. You mean to tell me that the first few months of my life are going to be my last? Oh well.
I wasn’t born until a few years later in 1991…at least you got those few months. 😅
Capitalist worst fears: recession
Nice video, its great to see my country is in a eas scenario
That escalated quickly when the Russian Reich Emerges
you are fantastic, the quality in realism of your scenario vids is amongst the best that I’ve ever seen. Keep up the great work!
Similar to Cuban Missile crisis but probably a lot more worse… well done! I can see the timeline matching of the EAS, which, for me, is rare…
I love it YP :D
Not a bad EAS Scenerio! Was hoping you could do another Nuclear Armageddon kinda thing, more like "harvest" did in his. Keep up the work man!
GREAT SCENARIO!!! Glad to see other countries like Ireland and Philippines featured. Hoping to see more scenarios focusing on countries not usually featured in scenarios. Keep up the great work YP!
Those aren't real countries. One is full of drunks and other nothing but an impoverished waste land.
amazing video as always! huge fan!
18:09 fucking terrified me because i saw a red dot go directly on cardiff (my home city) and it disturbed me like hell
Bro this is so sick man keep up the great work
Everybody gangsta until Mason,Hudson,Woods. Comes in
“Wake up bell, we got a job to do…”
-Russell Adler Cold War”81
You should do an alternate Y2K scenario soon
As someone who ‘survived y2k’, i agree. Lol seriously tho, that would be kind of cool. I was only 8 or 9 years old at the time, people were legit nervous.
I COMPLETELY forgot CNN had/has a theme song 😂 This was a great trip into the past. Great use of old footage. I really enjoy these retro AU scenarios.
Oh my God... That was amazing!
CNN had such a cheerful sounding advertisement.
It will be amazing if you can make about the zombie apocalypse, thank you for your work and efforts
Cold War Will Be Like:💀
Everyone gangsta until the Cold War goes up a single temperature lmao
Cold War? More like Hot War
You should keep including the Philippines in other EAS scenarios! By the way, good work Yuan!
Of course yuan is going to incorporate his own country into more scenarios
@@Real_iron_boy Well, I think this is the first time that the Philippines has appeared (in video) in any of his EAS videos. In the "Omega Variant" one, the Philippines was just mentioned as destroyed.
What was that CNN music at 5:29? It sounds very nice tbh.
Well done yet again. I was born in 86 so I didn't live through the Cold War.
Well, you technically did. Not that you could remember that much though from around that time.
8:55
Manila 1985: Yay Martial Law is over!
Manila 1987:
Everybody wants to *rule* the world was so true..
I may lead the pack in views, but I don't hold a candle to the quality of a scenario like this. Absolutely PHENOMENAL!
Just discovered your station, it’s awesome !!!
YP hits it again!!
And also I’m glad Argentina and the Philippines were not as severely hit by nuclear war unlike the other countries
Only Philippines place to be hit by bombs are Clark AFB and the US military bases
Just Like December 26 1991
this is by far the most well made eas youve done!!
Awesome job YP. You got some editing skills. Great story presentation.
that ending hit hard tho
That ending got you an instant subscribe
I’ve watched this for the tenth time already. Too good
21:14 The line that says "Montana" leads to North Dakota and looks to be centered on Bismarck.
One small problem I've noticed in this video and some of your other videos is that you often say "50 continental states", but we only have 48 continental states. Hawaii is just an island so it's not connected to the continent and Alaska is not touching other US states so it's not considered a continental state.
I won’t breathe until YP posts again. Help a brotha out YP
20:30 I thought that siren was real for a second 😭
What is the song that played during the Birth of the Russian Reich? It starts around 16:44
Edit: I just found out what song was being playing, it's called "We Go on the Wide Fields". It is the anthem of the Russian Liberation Army during WW2. The link to the full song is listed below:

Thank you. I was hoping I'd find this in the comments.
im Argentinian, and i love your EAS scenarios! Keep it up!
All so good!! Only thing is that China part the captions is used as modern font and some is clearly google translated but its so cool!
Very Cool! just wondering what songs you used in Irish and russian reich part? (news and freedom forever song (?))
Wow this was one of the best scenarios I've seen.
Hi! I love this scenario!! Would you be able to do a scenario in the future of a unknown creature attacking all of the US and soon the world? You can name it whatever u want 😁
Godzilla lol
These Graphics Look Amazing, I Will Make My Scenarios With These
I thought this scenario was very well written and period correct. I like how you incorporated the Poll Tax Riots and the 1995 Brixton Riots into your story.
21:23 yuan monetization doesn’t last forever everybody wants to be a big content creator
“Everybody Wants To Rule The World” taken to another context
Excellent work as usual
That song beat at the end! Imma need that remix cause shit is a bop
16:18 A new era is dawning! Let there be pea...
Russian Reich: N Y E T
“We launched missiles at them so we can destroy capitalism, we thought they couldn’t launch back. We were wrong, all of humanity perished.”
Is this the bite of 87'????
Great video as always
The ending song 🔥👍
Reich is German, It means Empire, so like is russia just the german empire now?
What was that CNN music/ad at 5:29?
The San Francisco and LA County thing got me confused at the beginning of the video
World in conflict game in a EAS Scenario
