I really dont understand who chooses this camera setup. Letterly the worst angle you can find to show the high speeds of this powerboat. Besides that, as soon as the boat flies by, you stop recording?? Zoom out and follow the boat!!
You must not be familiar with the Lake of the Ozarks. The only clear location to set up at chooses the camera angle. As for following the boat, people don't attend this event to watch boats slow down so we don't film their deceleration. There's also trees that would block our ability to follow the boat. The purpose is to capture them at their top speed at the buoys.

But for most boating video's i love to see the boat really 'fly by'. So it would be great to have another camera at the line where topspeed is reached, and follow the boat with the camera fully in the shot. Gives a lot more feeling when it comes to speed on video.

How do I get funding to blow on high end worthless shift like you guys do? I mean powerboats aren't even that cool...put a kite on that rig and make something worth watching for. Then create a race series around it. I don't know what your goal truly is with this suck boat but it's taking for ever and wasting a huge amount of funding I am sure...

Spirit of Qatar was on a 1 mile course then the course was shortened to 3/4 of a mile. American Ethanol holds the record for the 3/4 mile course.

That boat is a piece of artwork the work and engineering it took to make 4 big blocks move 13,500#S 51 feet long 220 plus in a mile is amazing!!!
