    Hi fellow music listeners! pls advise - so I'm currently enjoying KZ ZS 10 Pro 2, and occasionally Castor Pro Bass version. Would the PRX be an upgrade to the ZS in any way or is it worth buying in this case? Or pls advise some thing that would be a noticeable upgrade to ZS 10 Pro 2 in the range of up to $80. Thanks in advance!

    KZ gets a bad rap but they really do offer some great products. Stealth revisions are a cause for concern (not just for them but any company). I think it's a good practice to purchase from a trusted source with a good return policy just in general to combat against that and other issues (shipping damages, etc.). The PRX (although not perfect) sounds like a win for KZ overall for the value it offers at its price point. Thank you for another awesome review! 👍

    • @AudioAmigoReviews
      @AudioAmigoReviews  Месяц назад +6

      Agreed, it's a good set, and not everybodys ears will react to the treble the way mine did. I will keep an eye out for a stealth revision in case it happens, and if it does, I'll buy a new set to confirm, change the title of this video, and do an Addendum to update everybody.

    Great Review! You've been on a roll my guy!
    I recently got my first KZ iem (EDC Pro) and was extremely surprised! I had heard so many negative things about them, so wasn't willing to spend much, but now im more interested in trying their more expensive options. I have the Aful P5+2, Xenns Tea Pro, Kinera Relentless, Aful Magicone, Moondrop Aria & Kato, KBear KB02, Simgot ew100p, Truthear Gate, and yet the KZ EDC Pro has been one I keep going back too. It's nothing fancy, it just fits really well for me, is tuned well, and even takes to EQ well. I think the fact that it was $8 and is as good as it is just makes me laugh and that is what keeps me coming back to listen to it.
    Cheers

    Great review with really strong arguments. I very much agree with your conclusions.
    Awesome cable section! The sarcasm was sooo good, "electrically speaking."😁 It's too bad the info on the KZ upgrade cable ($10) didn't make it in. People need to know about it and it would have been a perfect counterpoint to their stock cable. I don't understand KZ's neglect of offering it in a bundle, at least.
    I had seriously deformed foam tips also on the ZS12 Pro X. So much so, I wondered if it was intentional. Why would they put them on the unit and not in a bag.
    That was totally worth the wait.

    • @AudioAmigoReviews
      @AudioAmigoReviews  Месяц назад +2

      I didn't expect them to spring back like they did. I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled them out and they looked normal. I'll mention the upgrade cable in my next KZ REview. (Coming Soon!)

      @wrbrown571 Месяц назад

      @AudioAmigoReviews Do you have the upgrade cable? I want to get one so I can try it on the CCA CRA and ZS12 Pro X.

    • @wrbrown571
      @wrbrown571 Месяц назад

      @@AudioAmigoReviewsI just had an idea. What if you took the copper cable off the CCA CRA you have and put it on the PRX? (I realized the EDC Pro has a different connector) 😬
      I have the copper and silver cable. KZ has stated, the copper is the neutral and the silver plated being the bright.
      Would it make enough of a difference to reduce that sheen and the fatigue?
      Also narrow-bore tips maybe. The starlines are medium-bore I have read.

    • @AudioAmigoReviews
      @AudioAmigoReviews  Месяц назад +1

      @@wrbrown571 I'll measure the resistance on the cables to see if they're meaningfully different. In my experience, in order for the cables to change sound, the resistance needs to be different enough from the stock cable to change the response curve. I bet some Final Type E tips would most likely iron out the treble issue though. Those work pretty well for helping out with brighter IEMs.

    • @wrbrown571
      @wrbrown571 Месяц назад

      @@AudioAmigoReviews When I ordered my EDC Pro, KZ sent me the copper when I ordered the silver. I used the copper cable for a few weeks and when the silver came in, I could hear a difference. It's slight, but there. I'm going to assume the conductivity is better with silver than copper and may contribute to the difference.
      But yeah, can't argue with a VOM.
      Did you watch bigbuckoramma's video on how to check polarity on cables with a meter? Super cool. Super budget audio and video quality, but then information is solid.
      Of course this centers around the way KZ wires their sets, and depending on the replacement cable you use, may reverse the polarity.
      Fortunately the Kbear cable I ordered for the ZS12 Pro X was pinned for it.

      Curious how PRX will sound to me. I already have T10, thought I'd give this one a try since it was so cheap. You can get the excellent CXPro dongle @3-5$, this @21, and really nice T1/KZ Cables @3-6. Cases are also cheap. That being said I got the T10 for 30ish so it's kind of hard to compare any planar to it that falls too far behind in overall quality. I'm harder to impress the bigger my collection gets. And with the amount of amazing sets available fairly cheap, I'm even having issues qualifying the higher tier sets. New Adonis for instance. It's really good and gorgeous. But I own a lot of really good and a few gorgeous. EW300 and Delci were also sound repeaters. I want my mind blown when spent 5-10x as much or when something is Uber hyped. So far only the Phoenixcall has really stood out for design/sound and I got it for 58 after tax.

      @@MariaAudioChick I got it for $25 on the recent sales. It's unique compared to other sets with this graph because of the BC impact. It buzzes, but it also comes at the cost of tonal accuracy. It adds a sort of springy metallic sound to things, kinda like the Plutus Beast

I've got a ton of modding I want to do and plenty of sets coming. I'm excited to get the Phoenixcall again and curious about the V90pro. The tuning here isn't "Neutral" so if you;'re a vocalist or guitarist these might not be ideal. They're also not the best at passive noise isolation, even with foam eartips. I borrowed my friends Macbook and checked the IEMs, just in case my USB to 3.5mm DAC wasn't supplying enough power.
      I'm seeing some improvement today - I left the PRX connected to my iPod and running all night.
      Hopefully this continues 🤞as we don't have easy replacement in India, not unless we can show that the device has a manufacturing defect.

      bro this this iem has planar driver. It need at least 200mw to drive it. If you plug into a weak power source, it can't shine.

    Its the t10 for me. I had the pr2, it took a lot of power to drive.

      @AudioAmigoReviews  Месяц назад

      Yep. The PR2 took more juice to get to my 65dB listening volume than the T10. PR2 and PRX are the most power hungry IEMs I have.

      @AudioAmigoReviews I mostly listen to music when on commute and I don't carry a big dongle, so power is a big issue for me.

    I really like these for the price, but I did find them extra spicy on the trebble, and I'm usually not that bothered by sets with a reputation of being spicier (some Simgot releases comes to mind). Maybe it comes down to what I'm most sensitive of in terms of frequencies, and these tickle my boxes.
    (or unit variation, who knows!)

    • @AudioAmigoReviews
      @AudioAmigoReviews  Месяц назад +1

      SAME! I can deal with a decent amount of treble spiciness, but this didn't play well with my ear canals. We're all different after all.
