Hi fellow music listeners! pls advise - so I'm currently enjoying KZ ZS 10 Pro 2, and occasionally Castor Pro Bass version. Would the PRX be an upgrade to the ZS in any way or is it worth buying in this case? Or pls advise some thing that would be a noticeable upgrade to ZS 10 Pro 2 in the range of up to $80. Thanks in advance!
KZ gets a bad rap but they really do offer some great products. Stealth revisions are a cause for concern (not just for them but any company). I think it's a good practice to purchase from a trusted source with a good return policy just in general to combat against that and other issues (shipping damages, etc.). The PRX (although not perfect) sounds like a win for KZ overall for the value it offers at its price point. Thank you for another awesome review! 👍
Agreed, it's a good set, and not everybodys ears will react to the treble the way mine did. I will keep an eye out for a stealth revision in case it happens, and if it does, I'll buy a new set to confirm, change the title of this video, and do an Addendum to update everybody.
Considering their IMMENSE sales, I`m not really upset about thq QC either, I`ve been happy with all my KZ`s apart from when I got a set of ED9`s and found out I have contact allergy to nickel plating :/ I still have them though, don`t really know why xD

I have the Aful P5+2, Xenns Tea Pro, Kinera Relentless, Aful Magicone, Moondrop Aria & Kato, KBear KB02, Simgot ew100p, Truthear Gate, and yet the KZ EDC Pro has been one I keep going back too. I think the fact that it was $8 and is as good as it is just makes me laugh and that is what keeps me coming back to listen to it. Cheers
@AudioAmigoReviews I liked the tuning so much that I ordered the KZ saga (Bass Version) and the TRN MT5 shortly after lol. Saga for a little bass boost over the EDC Pro and MT5 for when I want a little less bass than the EDC Pro. Each $10 or less! They all graph extremely similar, just different in bass amount 😁

@@AudioAmigoReviewsI just had an idea. What if you took the copper cable off the CCA CRA you have and put it on the PRX? Curious how PRX will sound to me. I already have T10, thought I'd give this one a try since it was so cheap. You can get the excellent CXPro dongle @3-5$, this @21, and really nice T1/KZ Cables @3-6. Cases are also cheap. That being said I got the T10 for 30ish so it's kind of hard to compare any planar to it that falls too far behind in overall quality. I'm harder to impress the bigger my collection gets. And with the amount of amazing sets available fairly cheap, I'm even having issues qualifying the higher tier sets. New Adonis for instance. It's really good and gorgeous. But I own a lot of really good and a few gorgeous. EW300 and Delci were also sound repeaters. I want my mind blown when spent 5-10x as much or when something is Uber hyped. So far only the Phoenixcall has really stood out for design/sound and I got it for 58 after tax.
I noticed it has same graph as Cadenza /KB01. Is it a unique fun or fun like all the other fun rumbly sets? Looks like I can wait for a price drop. Lol.
@@MariaAudioChick I got it for $25 on the recent sales. It's unique compared to other sets with this graph because of the BC impact. It buzzes, but it also comes at the cost of tonal accuracy. It adds a sort of springy metallic sound to things, kinda like the Plutus Beast
@AudioAmigoReviews think it's worth having VS PRX? I don't have Plutus Beast. I don't care about tonal accuracy as long as it sounds good. They are pretty too! I've never gigged, so I have no experience here. I would say if you play Bass guitar or drums they'd probably provide a good experience for monitoring. But again, I have no experience. The tuning here isn't "Neutral" so if you;'re a vocalist or guitarist these might not be ideal. They're also not the best at passive noise isolation, even with foam eartips. I would say these are more for leisure just to be on the safe side. As I said, I have no experience with Gigs. Closest I ever got was Piano recitals and playing keyboard in a band in high school
@@ronak-31 under $60…. If you want something neutral and you can take the massive nozzles, the Zero Red is great. If you want something brighter, grab the Yu Xuan Ji if you have a lot of female vocals, and the IgniteX Beast if you want more percussion harmonics. If you can save up for the EW300 though, I think that’s probably the best value in that price range. And you get to choose between a “meta-ish” tuning and the Simgot EW200 style tuning
Noticed on KZ site, previous PR drivers were mentioned as 13.2mm, while PRX says 13.5mm, no idea if it is just a typo or drivers are actually a bit different.
Michael Bruce and HiFry taken apart a LOT of Planar drivers and has found that when companies claim 14.2 vs 14.5 or 14.8 mm. They're all talking about the same driver, since they're all made in the same facility. The driver might have some revisions that make it different from other ones though. I have no way of knowing without tearing it down myself.
For Warm, relaxing sound: the Letshuoer S08 or the AFUL Explorer For V-Shaped, more contrasting sound: The Truthear Nova or the Simgot Supermix4 For a neutral sounding reference: The AFUL Magic One, but I don't feel it's worth $140, try to get it on sale. I don't have a TON of experience in this price range
I compared the pr2 and the prx and they both sound the same in brightness but the prx has a bit more mid bass which gives you the illusion of being more relaxed in comparison. I got annoyed of all these iem peaks so I got the qudelix 5k so I can easily fix these tuning issues with eq, lowering 16k by 10db makes them sound so much better. It's a huge reduction but that's how bright they are.
I have the SGOR Luna. I don't find it fatiguing in the treble region. I don't know about the T10 since it's typically out of my budget, but I've read reviews and seen the PRX's frequency response having a spicier tuning than the Luna. For loud volume listening, I think the Luna is the way to go if you don't like spicy treble. However, another thing you can do is EQ down the treble of the PRX if you find a better deal for it.
If the treble spots on the PRX don't bother you, then the PRX is a great high volume listen. BUT. If they DO bother you, then you'd be better off with the Luna. If you can do a return, try both. If not, I would play it safe with the Luna
Sounds like a minor redemption for KZ; got somewhat back on form with tuning but still with the lingering QC lottery. I agree with you, it would be the go-to ultra-budget planar if Luna didn't exist seeing as they go blow for blow and just coming down to preference & value as deciding factors. I guess it's still a revision or two away(if KZ decides to join in) from modern planar tuning we see from S08, FP3, and that new eye-catching T10 Pro😁
Hi Omar! I hope you are well. I purchased the PRX a few days ago and I'm very underwhelmed by it. The bass is very, very low and the overall sound is very dull. Compared to this, my 5$ headphones sound warm and have a much brighter response 😂. I suspect that I may have received a defective piece. Is there a way for me to confirm that possibility?
I would say either your earphones are defective, or they're not getting enough power. What source are you using? As far as checking if they're defective... unfortunately there really isn't a good way to check unless you have access to a known good pair or a measurement rig of some sort. I would just return them for another pair and see if that changes things.
@AudioAmigoReviews Thanks Omar! I've used these IEMs on my laptop and on my old iPod Nano. I borrowed my friends Macbook and checked the IEMs, just in case my USB to 3.5mm DAC wasn't supplying enough power. I'm seeing some improvement today - I left the PRX connected to my iPod and running all night. Hopefully this continues 🤞as we don't have easy replacement in India, not unless we can show that the device has a manufacturing defect.
I really like these for the price, but I did find them extra spicy on the trebble, and I'm usually not that bothered by sets with a reputation of being spicier (some Simgot releases comes to mind). Maybe it comes down to what I'm most sensitive of in terms of frequencies, and these tickle my boxes. (or unit variation, who knows!)

They're all talking about the same driver, since they're all made in the same facility. The driver might have some revisions that make it different from other ones though. I have no way of knowing without tearing it down myself.
Which is the best one you have heard in 100-150$ range iem
For Warm, relaxing sound: the Letshuoer S08 or the AFUL Explorer
For V-Shaped, more contrasting sound: The Truthear Nova or the Simgot Supermix4
For a neutral sounding reference: The AFUL Magic One, but I don't feel it's worth $140, try to get it on sale.
@@ziggy7360 EQ is such a powerful tool! And something like the Q5K is a fantastic way of implementing it! Thanks for sharing. :)
For a non-basshead that likes to listen loud occasionally, which is the better allrounder between T10, PRX and Luna?
If not, I would play it safe with the Luna
great review as always
have any thoughts on the tin hifi c2 mech warrior? im planning on getting them for christmas.
I have both the original and the 2025 edition. They’re mentioned briefly in my buyers guide. I need to do a full review for them.
@ sounds good. take all the time you need, no rush.
The PRX Pro will probably be a winner :)
lol I'm surprised they're still aren't using the Pro Max, Ultra, & Endgame Edition monikers at this point😅
@AudioAmigoReviews Thanks Omar!
@ best of luck!
@@AudioAmigoReviews Thank you!
bro this this iem has planar driver. It need at least 200mw to drive it. If you plug into a weak power source, it can't shine.
I hate qdc connectors, i had trn kirin and it was loose from factory and they died after 4 month
They’re not my favorite either. Every time I’ve had connector issues it’s been with QDC
Its the t10 for me. I had the pr2, it took a lot of power to drive.
Yep. The PR2 took more juice to get to my 65dB listening volume than the T10. PR2 and PRX are the most power hungry IEMs I have.
@AudioAmigoReviews I mostly listen to music when on commute and I don't carry a big dongle, so power is a big issue for me.
but the luna looks so big when wearing.. that's the only thing holding me back getting one.
If you’d like I can try to start including in-ear photos in my review.
But I’d have to ask my wife hahaha.
@AudioAmigoReviews that would be great. I can search videos/pictures for iems and tons of it. But wearing it, only certain iem I can find.
SAME! I can deal with a decent amount of treble spiciness, but this didn't play well with my ear canals. We're all different after all.
t10 ftw
i have not opppeeeened its my gift to my bro, i really hope there was no issue.
@@CristopherCutas it has sold a LOT of units. And I’ve only seen 3-5 reports of bad connections or dead units. So hopefully you should be fine.
@@AudioAmigoReviews i kinda opted for prx over sgor.... just because historically (to me), the kz earphones feels nice.
@@CristopherCutas KZ Earphones have always been extremely comfortable. Good Call. :)
i finally get to listen and feel them. i would probably buy my brother another IEM.
quite difficult to drive
@@woka_kawanua-hw2hj Yes. The hardest IEM to drive in my collection. That’s why I recommend at least a dongle like the KA11 to drive these
I don't understand kz and it's commitment to qdc... At least don't put it in budget mid range offerings
My theory is that like the cables, they have an agreement with a specific supplier and are getting an insane bulk deal for them.
Now thats a cheap IEM I can dig
