I saw Grant sitting alone at the Annoucers table last week at Acrisure so I walked up and and "Grant'. He turned around and we had a great conversation about the NHL. I'd been a Kings fan since 1974 so know all about the Oilers, as well as the Canadien, and Islander Dynastys. He is a super friendly guy and I probably talked to him for 5 minutes reminicing about the 'Good Ol' Days' Ol' time Hockey, and how great the Oilers were.

Grant Fuhr is such a great guy, and without a doubt one of my favourite goaltenders. I grew up watching and enjoying his amazing play back in the Western Hockey League.
Nice little feature - thank you!

Grant has turned into an amazing broadcaster and major asset to our firebirds family!! The entire coachella valley hockey community loves Grant!! As we speak the Firebirds are in the Finals and are only 2 wins away from winning the AHL Calder Cup!!

Very happy to say that when I hit the thumbs up button, it turned to #99.
Grant Fuhr is a great guy, you can just tell by watching him. Looking forward to seeing him in the desert sometime soon. My mother-in-law lives just down the road and has been begging us to come down for along weekend and a hockey game.

I grew up in Edmonton watching Fuhr, Gretz and the guys. I would cycle up to Northlands and my allowance was enough for a seat in the rafters. I had a huge poster of Grant Fuhr in my room. The duo of Fuhr and Andy Moog was key to the Oilers winning those cups. There was magic at both ends of the ice. In those days, we just expected to with the Cup every year. The guys would sing, "We Are The Champions" in their limos. It became the motto for Edmonton. Good times! Nice to see Fuhr is still involved in the sport and he still hangs with Gretz. Back then, I think the teams were tighter than they are now....

I remember Fuhr unable to string more than three words together in 1980s interviews.

@@elterrifico9522 Yeah, they were kids and he got a taste for the powder. He got through some dark times.

Me too; Fuhr, Moog, and later Ranford were all my inspirations along with all the HHOFs.

In the 80's a friend and I went to the Penticton Hockey School and Grant Fuhr didn't show up because he was in recovery for cocaine abuse. Great job bud! Real role model
