- Hi All,
It’s been a minute since I’ve posted with all the building we’ve been doing, but I’m back with a fun
video.
I’ve been soooo inspired by crevice gardens lately. They are pretty much rock gardens made up of many sliced layers of stone creating thin crevices for plants to grow in. They are usually built outdoors and used for growing succulents, cacti, or alpine plants. I wanted to mix this idea with a bog garden theme and create a display in the new greenhouses to enjoy.
I mainly used carnivorous plants called Pinguicula or butterworts as they produce beautiful flowers and thrive in this setup. The lava rock base layer provides awesome drainage and the Pings love growing in its porous surface. I made sure to drill holes roughly an inch or less below the surface on the trough. This makes sure the water doesn’t rise too high with our overhead irrigation.
I Hope you enjoy this video and I’m looking forward to seeing you all more often!
Thanks for watching,
Dom
Hope to see a greenhouse tour soon ! :D Great video!
Just waiting on the babes to settle in:) thank you!

im happy to hear youre in a better place to be posting videos i appreciate you these videos are so therapeutic and informative
Glad you are in a "good place"! Large changes come with stress, watch out and keep enjoying your nice plants. Love the end-result.
These large changes have completely eliminated my stress! It’s been life changing in the new setup. That’s why I invested in full automation with top of the line equipment. 😁

Hey Dominic! Can we have a 2024 Nepenthes Greenhouse Tour? 😊 We missed the 2023 tour 😢
There will be plenty to come! With just moving in to the new greenhouse, the plants are still settling and it will take a few Months before I have a bunch of nice pitchers to show. Looking at green leaves isn’t as exciting lol we will
Get there! Thanks!
@@redleafexotics4722 Thanks, I'll be pressing F5 until the Tour! 🫰
Do you have a pure nepenthes clipeata?

Will the limestone add too much nutrient to the water?
This is exactly the video I needed for this year.
❤
That is so beautiful.
Definitely inspired to make one now!
I love this it's given me an idea of how to display my fossil collection, also this would be great for a lot of aquarium plants as the majority prefer to grow out of water in high humidity oh and ricia moss man I love this idea!
Drooooling ❤
