if you listen very closely to the audio, you might hear static electrical noise. that's the camera's microphone reacting to the stingray's electrical pulses. they use these to sense prey's muscle movements, as muscle tissue is an electrically conductive tissue. stingrays come up to people because we produce lots more electrical impulses proportionate to our body size, which they don't often get to be around. basically? they're super curious about humans since we give off lots of electrical impulses that they find fascinating.
gardensofthegods chill man. Stingies are great. Irwin wouldn’t want you to make people worry. It was a 1/10000000000 accident. I bet Steve would still love the stingie. God bless the Irwins
He didn’t “annoy” it. He swam above the stingray and it most likely felt threatened and struck him in just the right spot. Im sure he wasn’t being malicious to the stingray, he just got too close.
Nice video. Just curious, are you (whoever is doing the videotaping) swimming along behind the stingrays? Looks like they're moving awfully fast. I hope to make it there one day.
Yes, I was swimming along behind them. It may just look that way on camera, but they are swimming slow enough that I can keep up with them easily. There were only a few fast ones that I couldn't keep up with. Good luck on hopefully making it there one day! Its truly amazing
Personally I would not sneak up behind one and try to grab its tail because that is where the Stinger is... I think it's just best to let them come to you and be playful with you and not sneak up behind their tail
Chromedian... the best I saw that educates you about them is called Cool Stingrays on Bill's channel ...I just looked at it and this was really fascinating .
Just to think that Steve Irwin could’ve been like these people, he could’ve swam with the stingray unharmed and returned home with documentary footage safe and sound.
I love every animal, even the species that killed one of the greatest men to ever walk this planet.. but fuck that, its not worth the risk of becoming a victim to one of these beautiful creatures.

Sneaking up behind them and trying to grab their tail from behind is not a good idea.. that is how Steve Irwin got killed

I’m from Coronado hs btw bro
I was just about to ask how exactly he got attacked.
@@automaticchic the actual footage of his death was never realised . he probably annoyed the animal and it acted in self-defence.

Quite possibly, he's responsible for people interfering with wildlife.
