- On "My Car Story" we're in Belvidere, IL on 7-19-14 at the 24th Annual Belvidere MOPAR Happening Swap Meet and Car Show.
We're looking at a 1968 Plymouth Road Runner 426 Hemi J Code.
We're talking with Steve and Sharon Lovetinsky, Owners of the car since 2011. It took them 3 years to restore the car.
Steve shared he's been looking for the right "Hemi Car" for a while. When he found this one, he traded two cars and some cash, but he's VERY HAPPY!
To add to his happiness, this weekend his car won "Best Of Show", congratulations!

Roadie's BIG Adventure!
Roadie the Plymouth Roadrunner was getting washed up for a summer vacation road trip.
Whe he was washing up, I dressed myself in a tank top which read "Die-Hard Road Runner Fan" on it, a pair of denim shorts, and pink glittery shoes.
After Roadie was washed up, we piled in and headed off.
I was in the front seat because Baby was with Boo.
"What a beautiful summer day, huh, Roadie?" I said to the '69. Roadie beeped twice and flashed his headlights in agreement.
I turned on the radio and listened to all my favorite rockin' summer hits on KQ92.
I sang along while Roadie flashed his headlights to the beat.
A little while later, we stopped in traffic.
Roadie's horn beeped quick blasts in annoyance.
"It's rush hour," said Cowboy.
"It's SUMMER VACATION. It can't be this bad, right?" I replied.
WRONG! Traffic would be held up for at least a couple hours.
Roadie's horn then beeped in a sad tone.
"Roadie hates rush hour," I said. "Traffic will clear up soon." I reassured the Roadrunner.
2 hours later, traffic still held up. Roadie's horn didn't have a sad tone, but was now angry.
"Is traffic EVER gonna clear up?" I then shouted angrily.
"Meep-meep-meep-meep-meep!" Beeped the '69.
Cowboy looked out Roadie's window, and said, "Well crap, guess we'll be stuck here."
Traffic finally cleared up at sundown.
Roadie then happily beeped and shot through the roads of the Hawkeye State.

Hey Lou, I'm sorry it took me so long to find this one. Beautiful Mopar. I have the same horn in my 2016 Ram 1500 5.7 4x4. Love it!

Thanks, good work.. seems unusual car, Plymouths were a cheaper run, in those days! Interestingly I ordered I a Green 68 Road Runner : green/ 4 SPD/ fan Declutching/ Disc Brakes/Deluxe interior/am Radio/no a/c, 383/standard WheelCover ( dog Dish?), PS/ PB,etc. ( ..??,using my memory)from Lafayette IN Dealer for $200.00 Payment: lost that when decided not to buy car ( I was second /third year Pharmacy School)...I do remember HEMI , & couple things EXPENSIVE, IT WAS my economy driver, we did inspect it with a friend when came in, seemed to be good quality for a Plymouth...DEALER has no problems moving it,Anyways, always wondered who got it..

To be so meticulous,it has the wrong horn. 68 roadrunner horn was a black beep beep.
