Sentences for rich people compared to nobody's are like t-shirts. They can be the labeled the same size...but be completely fucking different

I think you’re referring to federal prisons that have more capacity and more resources than most prisons do. They are usually more white collar prisons.

He knew exactly what he was doing when he started the whole crypto thing and I knew it was a scam. Why would anyone spend real money on crypto and expect it to be something so successful. He knew he was asking people to invest their money in crypto [currency] which it’s not at all. I hope he finds out what hell is like as he sits on his cot in prison for embezzlement of funds. I hope the people who have invested money into bitcoin will get some money back from him soon. 😢
Imo people like him do believe in their companies success so they might not fully see what they did as a scam in the same way we do. Crypto is totally a scam and at least its lack of regulation makes it being not one almost impossible. People like SBF and CZ don’t see crypto that way. The do see it as the future and have all this success, I don’t think they believe it will benefit the pockets of the public or care to ensure it does - i believe they see it as a way to get mega rich and have power. It HAS to succeed in their minds to make it work otherwise they’d probably take a more cautionary and thoughtful approach to their businesses in this new domain.
So yes - he knew what he was doing and he didn’t care if he hurt others but in his mind the company would be successful and therefore a good company. And not a scam, because to them smart and successful companies manipulate and play the system to dodge such liability. Scams don’t hahahahaha

What a tragedy! I stand with Sam here, he was "reallocating" money for a better cause...arguing that he used it for a "lavish lifestyle" is ridiculous, he always was humble and prudent in money spending. 13 million mansion (for the WHOLE team) is not an exception. Granted he played the capital game to harshly but I sincerely believe that his effective altruism ideology is based and just imagine how transformative of a change somebody with his mindset could have brought to our society. What a loss!! I m also deeply dissapointed by the public perception only focusing on surface level missmanagement technicalities. Just look at his main competitor Binance...they essentially almost got caught doing the same thing! Also the fact that Caroline so cold-heartedly betrayed him in court is beyond the pale...
