Love how the dog went to the grill of the RV expecting someone there. LOL I would use the sirens if I were in the middle of nowhere and someone was outside the RV up to no good. It might be a god way to scare them off.
I working on installing a much older PA system right now that'll actually run off of my CB. No real reason for me doing this other than pure fun. I've got a nice megaphone looking thing that I'm mounting on up high on my driver side mirror. My motorhomes stock horn is extremely wimpy too. I'm surprized it was even legal to put horns like that on RVs back then, I mean the horn in my little Honda is louder. I'm thinking of going the air horn route though. Even louder and I can keep the stock horn.
Be careful, I have had people think an emergency vehicle was approaching when I used that tone. I have disabled that tone on mine, as well as the others. One way to achieve this is to simply duct tape the rotary and push button switches inside the unit. You have to disable them, as per oregon law, not only not use them. Other states may very, but just a word of caution, you can get a ticket simply for having a functioning siren installed.
*I'm hooking the second AUX as my flashing white light trigger you can have those too and i'm hooking up white LED Strobes front and rear. you can legally use white and amber, even green, just not red or blue*
Yup. You can get in all sorts of trouble if you are caught using the sirens while driving. The horn is absolutely safe to use though. Also if you have a light bar. You can get in so much trouble if you sure them while driving. Even more trouble if they are blue and red or just blue or red. Meaning if you have a light bar that is red and white or blue and white. They are super illegal. This is why o run Lime and white. Not mistaking them for red or blue.
In mine they reversed the polarity. If you did everything right and the fuse is still blowing. Open the unit and switch the orange(+) and black(-) wires.(common manufacturing mistake) worked fine after. Orange(+) should be furthest from the back plate.
Ok so I ran my red wire to the fuse I got a fuse extension where a wire comes out and you attach the wire then plug it in and plug the fuse on top well it worked then it threw codes at me so we had to take it out any ideas should I just run it straight to the battery?
That would definitely be a solution to the problem however you would have to turn the PA off when you're not using it otherwise it'll stay on all the time and possibly drain your battery. I blew a couple of fuses also so it obviously uses a pretty decent amount of power. Is there any other alternative fuse you can connect to? Perhaps one with a higher amp rating. You could also buy a pretty inexpensive power relay. The relay would be connected directly to the battery but would only be switched on when you use that accessory wire to activate the relay. Just a thought.
i was looking to add an extra horn to my car.. like a courtesy horn and I really liked the Lamphus air horn. Does anyone know if its comes without the sirens and everything??
Hey i was wondering how are your supposed to connect the wire to the car battery? do i need a fuse or anything so I dont destroy my car, I have never done any work to my car so I am completely clueless.
I got mine installed today, however it sounds very quiet. I noticed the shop only connected one green wire to the speaker and the second one isn't being used. Would connecting the two green wires to the speaker make it louder? And do two greens go into each wire on speaker?
Good way to get busted. In most states it is illegal to install a siren in a non-emergency vehicle not to mention actually using it. They could even hit you for impersonating a police officer.
Excellent tutorial. This is a very cool idea. Thanks for sharing your video. I always look forward to your technical videos and Ideas for RV's Have a great day.
Really love your videos! I just followed your Amazon link and purchased one myself. We’ve had several close calls and one (small) accident because our horn wasn’t effective!!
*NOTICE* : Due to police impersonators, in some jurisdictions even possessing a siren-capable device but never using it can bring huge legal problems. Internally disable any tones which can emulate a police siren sound. If law enforcement can switch it to such sounds, the vehicle could be towed and impounded and registered owner/driver jailed. Then they sort it out and you areleased. Same with possessing lights which can emulate law enforce lights.
I was thinking about getting a siren and a light bar to put on my POV for my truck. I am a volunteer firefighter so I think I’m able to have them on my truck lawfully with identification and authorization through my chief to be able to run lights and sirens when responding to an emergency.
I think in all states you are not allowed to have a siren or else they will pull you over. Instructions for a drivers license in all states say that you have to give space to emergency passing vehicles when their sirens are on and are trying to go through. I think you might be safe only if you use the horn feature. Thanks for the cool installation details.
You are correct. That's exactly what I stated in the video. You cannot use the siren. I use the horn only and the PA system when I'm trying to communicate with someone outside of the RV backing it up. If you use the siren you will get in trouble. Thank you for the comments and happy camping.
@@nafingargaming5945 I mean a battery has a positive and negative terminal... Making that a "ground" ground just completed the circuit. Wiring straight to the battery could drain the battery if it were to sit for too long with the system switched on though
I love how everyone's first reaction is what the law is going to say about it.

It gets her every time. :)
That was my thinking too. Or you could use the PA to issue some death threats and hopefully, that would discourage them from messing with you.
2:58 so far this is the best review on any pa products. THANK YOU SO MUCH SIR! All around great video
Hehehehe I would get my ass in trouble with this.
Just picked up mine. You already know I’m going to.😂

lol Your dog ran around front like "I dont understand it, but this is where my owners voice is".
Looking at this same unit. Best video by far of the install and functions of this setup. Too bad it didn't have dual tone siren. Happy trails!!!

What they don’t know won’t hurt em

Thanks for the to the point video. Well made!
Nice, I need this on my motorcycle to yell at my buddies when we ride lol. NEXT STOP FOR GAS!!!
Nice what I’m looking for
I've been in the market for one of these for a while to use on my race truck on track night. This one seems high quality. Thank you.
Lol ....the dogs reaction
Your horns always on cause you wired in parallel instead of series. Wire it in series and your horn button will activate the speaker horn

That is dope..is this the compact
Just hooked this up but different horn and probably mic
You can purchase an air horn only system. This way you can't be accused of using the other tones.

If I remember correctly I connected both. It is very loud.
@@fullmoonadventureclub ok sounds good. Thank you!
Make sure to read the installation instructions. Take care.
Can you get in trouble for using the horn. Is that considered a police tone?
Yes. Buyer beware. I just use the horn and PA.
@@fullmoonadventureclub o know the siren tones obv illegal but the air horn I mean
Who carea
how did you plug the wires into an auxiliary?
It doesn't need a relay?
Nope.

Is the horn legal in the states? Is it legal to have the sirens and not use them in the states? How do I disable the siren?
I think the real reason no one would respond to your original horn is that they were too busy laughing!! That thing was really sad!
;)
It really was! lol :) Jim

Im getting this for ly truck
So it's just the two greens to the speaker and the red and black to the battery?
Yep.
Hope you didn't put black to the battery bc im pretty sure that was for ground

Do you know if the two white wires on the secondary harness could be connected through your car's radio?
