In the 1980's I was a teenager when there was a huge fire in Vacaville, the next town up from my hometown. My dad owned a 1/4 interest in a Cessna 177 and some guy from the state or maybe forest service hired my dad to take him on an aerial survey of the damage. I got to ride in the back seat. I remember there were several homes surrounded by red squares that were untouched by fire. Others that had no red square were gone. I asked the forest service guy later why did some of the houses have red squares (fire retardant) and others did not. Some of the property owners had cleared the brush away from their house, other did not. They didn't have the resources to protect every house, so they chose to concentrate on those homes that they had the best chance of saving. That made a HUGE impact on me.
Houses in Great Britain are built from brick with a tiled roof. It amazes me that people in the USA and Australia who live in areas where they get terrible wildfires live in wooden houses with wooden shingles on the roof! Brick built houses with a tiled roof aren't going to catch fire because of some drifting sparks!
@@SasquatchWithStyle I understand it may be the case in parts of California but they don't get earthquakes in Australia. Also which is more common? Earthquakes or wildfires?
They need to change building codes that make houses fireproof and houses down south hurricane proof. Waste of money having to rebuild every time your house is destroyed.
This isn't surprising, it's entirely predictable and based on science. Clearing excess vegetation and debris from the home ignition zone and building with non flammable materials can make all the difference, and clearly did in this case, whether or not the homeowners did it intentionally or not.

That's why I came here too. Saw it in Bored Panda. Obviously, the story is slightly different. Same house. No mention of sprinklers. Just shows us how easily stories can be changed on the internet and that seeing/reading should not automatically mean believing.
In my 33 years of existence, I never encounter a forest fire in my country, the Philippines that could turn properties into ashes.. yes there still some forest fire but they don't progress much as what I see in videos in RUclips..
"God is good" meaning they believe in God, God is the one destroying everything as a sign of what is to come. Repent people, turn to Jesus and declare your life to God. Give up your sinful ways and you will be saved. Seek help from "the last reformation". Your last chance to repent is nearly here. God Bless all who can hear this warning.

Great Britain sucks
Cause its cheap.
Very cheap
Where we live, most of us live in wooden houses because they can withstand earthquakes.

make all houses in fire zones concrete and metal.
I've heard of eating the rich, but this guy brings the brick oven.

"Tracked down the owners" Yes, because the last place they'd be is their own home...
you can put sprinkler defense outside your vicinity maybe 6 with large water tank.
God is good indeed! "Im not makign fun, im saying it for real".
God IS good, and Love...Even when bad things happen to those who love Him. That does not change the fact that He is good.
Say that to lives lost in Maui fires
This is what a house that's covered in His precious blood looks like❤ Jesus is King
Glory to God in the highest.
