    Thanks for you advice.
    Some time ago after seen your video about pulley wheels and how to improve shifting performance, I decided to change them on my bike for some with bearing, and the shifting quality have really improved.
    Thanks for your rational perspective about things in bike tech.

    I would think the axs derailleur should work well with the Shimano cassette and chain.

    Hello, Trybo!
    As usual, great explanation and interesting video, well done!
    Currently i'm using SLX M7100 groupset and yesterday I just snapped the chain (on 2 links simultaneously) when climbing. I've been using it probably around 100km only. Concerned by the chain durability, I consider to replace the chain with different brand, but similar price tag (slightly more expensive is okay as long as I get the durability without losing the HG+ performance). Could you give some advice or suggestion for the chain replacement? Should I stick to Shimanos to keep the HG+ performance, or I can use let's say KMC/YBN or is it better to upgrade to XT CN-m8100?
    Thanks.

    Hi very intersting explanation, in your opinion a compatible 12 speed chain like KMC could ruin a SLX hyperglide+ cassette? new Giant Trance X 2 comes with SLX Cassette but with KMC X12...

    Hi Very interesting , i wanted to buy SLX derailleur / Shifter / chain but the wheel is a Fulcrum Red Passion 3 with XD hub ... So you do not recommend to buy a chinese 12s cassette on that XD hub and use it with slx correct ? i will have to buy the microspline conversion kit for my wheel and get the SLX cassette ? should work better ? Thx

    personally found the clutch to be awful on shimano 12s derailleurs, even with regular servicing - they are not sealed well so corrosion is inevitable in wet conditions

    Hi, will XT RD-M8000 SGS work with CS-M5100 11-51 cassette? Some guys on forums said that will not work? I wanna convert my 2x11 to 1x11 and I have SGS version of RD. Thanks in advance.

      It will, but very, very poorly. I would not bother.

      @@TryboBike Why do you think it will work poorly ?

    • @TryboBike
      @TryboBike  3 года назад

      @@wojciechlewandowski8774 Because parallelogram slant of x000 series rear mechs from shimano is meant for 11-4x cassettes, not for the 10-5x. In effect the b-gap is going to be all over the place and indexing is going to be off ewentually.

      @@TryboBike Welp, I asked because quite a few people did something similar matching RD-M8000 / RD-M7000 with Sunrace CSMX80 or Chinese 11-50 casettes. For example: ruclips.net/video/sPw1l3IzrZs/видео.html. Here is a successful attempt to hook RD-M8000 to 12 speed Sram casette: ruclips.net/video/6d5KXMjKJMg/видео.html. If it works with 12 speed then it must work with 11 speed too (because slant is more or less the same).

    Some chainrings seem to have problems fitting the Shimano 12s chain or to create noise. Even though many people recommend to use Eagle chainlink, wolftooth recommends special tooth profile with i guess thinner teeths: www.wolftoothcomponents.com/pages/chain-compatibility-by-chainring-tooth-profile
    Is HG+ really restricted to only the 3 biggest sprockets?
