Put those clips on the studs where electrical lines go thru the studs too. You do not want to nick an electrical line with a nail or screw after the spray foam is put in when you are hanging the dry wall.
Another fine video !! I am 66 years old and been around construction my whole life including some house building but mostly ironwork building power plant and that sort of stuff. But anyway what I’m saying, trying to say I guess is your work is phenomenal in my opinion. You thought of all the little details that is so easy to overlook and your work is so tidy and neat. I wish the very very best for y’all !! I make sure I like your video every week and I always share it to people I know and hopefully they will start watching also !! God bless you both and I sure do love your videos !!❤🥂🇺🇸✌🏼
So much fun together. Before spray foam, will you install blocking between studs for cabinets and shelves? Will you pressure test water lines? Looking good. Thanks for sharing
Bravo les cousins cajun . Lydia tu es acrobate et bonne électricienne. Jim toi tu es un magicien 🧙 . Agréable de regarder vos vidéos 👍👍👏👏 bisous de France 🇫🇷
Great job. I agree with the comment about blocking for the cabinets. Nice to see you teaching Ladly how to help. Never too young to start. Best wishes from Minnesota.
Definitely try building the cabinets. We did and love them! We watched several RUclips videos to learn how and bought a few tools to make sure we had square corners and such. Built out of 3/4 finish grade plywood and bought the adjustable feet so we just built boxes and attached the feet. You can do it!!!
@@CajunCountryLivin absolutely! We watched a great cabinet basics video from Bents Woodworking. Also definitely use the Blum hinges and drawer glides. You got this!
Good progress indeed, wiring is time consuming i don't have to tell you guys ;) sweet trick with the plastic and wire with the vacuum cleaner solution sweet, keep it up and looking forward to the next one ;):);)
Just finished a re run binge watch from the beginning, it was surprising to see I had missed little bits and pieces so I totally had a new experience watching the build, looking forward to the future episodes and cannot wait to follow your awesome channel.
More clean wire and pipe installation - my favorite things. Pretty soon you will be done. I know that it is a ton of work, and it goes unnoticed by most, but I still have to complement you on how far the video editing has come. Pretty much flawless with overdubs, incuts, music, overlays, it really makes these a joy to watch. These are a welcome break for my Friday morning. Bring on the foam.
That’s means to much to us Michael since we do it all ourselves. We really strive to make the best content for y’all. We are so excited to show y’all even more of our life once we can slow down on the house. Thanks for watching. ♥️
Good morning, not sure if your going to put the frig and freezer on there own circuits. I would suggest it if you have the panel space. If you have a dishwasher and a garbage disposal the you might want to add circuits for them. Your installations always first class. Thanks for sharing.
Love your videos. Y’all are a beautiful family. May our Lord continue to touch your hearts and rain the blessing from Heaven upon you. Your joy in our Lord just radiates from both of you and even more so from you “two foot timer”. BTW I just love that reference to your baby girl. It takes adorable to a whole new level. God bless y’all.
You must be so happy you’ve got all that prep work done! I could see how hot it was when you were up in the rafters. You sure was glowing🥵 Nice to see Ladly Ru lending a hand…a chip off the old block. Have an awesome weekend y’all 🙏
Love your channel! Make to pressure test your water lines before you have the spray foam company come. It will save you a lot of extra work later. My wife and I enjoy watching you two (three). We are starting to sound Cajun. LOL
Thank you very much Don! And yes sir on the pressure tests definitely! We hope that you and your wife have a great week! Let us know how you are progressing with your new found accent! 😂
Yall doing a fine job that spray insulation will make a difference in there. After the storm I'd leave a fan in the window to pull a draft threw hole house to help cool it at night jim, doesn't help much with out insulation
Hi Jim & Lydia Another fun and informative video with my funniest couple. Looks like you got a plan to have everything ready for the foam. You might want to do a pressure check on those water lines and put in some blocking for cabinets and such. Just like you can smell rain coming. I smell the scent of drywall dust coming not to far away. Jim I see Mrs Clean was right behind you with the shop vac. And who says a shop vac is just for vacuuming debris. It a good string sucking tool also. Noticed the little one getting in on the action and helping dad . Wishing you both good health and success. And hopefully a break from this heat. Stay strong and safe
Thank you Jim! We pressured tested & went around the house putting blocks in where we measured that we thought would be helpful. Heck yes! It’s also a “multipurpose” tool. Lad sure loves to lend a hand where she can! Thanks for the love & support ♥️
I’m with you guys - can’t wait for the spray foam! One lesson learned from my kitchen - if you wrap the window in drywall probably not an issue but if you want to trim it out, you may wish to space them back just a tad… Keep charging! Looks good 👍🏼
Coming along nicely guys. Great to see progress each week. Remember to test for water leaks before foaming. Do you need to wire the upstairs before foaming too?
Another Great video! You guys just keep on Crushing it....Wow! Keep up the Amazing work and quality videos.......Have a Great Weekend Cajun Family!!!!!!
It's coming together beautifully yall make a awesome team!! She's so cute 😍 I remember when my lil one was like that too man they grow up fast!! Yall have a awesome weekend!!
Friends, a standard kitchen counter is 36” and increasing it 1” makes a huge difference, but 3” would be crazy tall. I would suggest that you build a plywood mock-up of your new counter height first.
Some one may have already said something but the outlet boxes next to the big window may be to close when it comes to the trim and outlet cover meshing together! You guys are doing great keep it up!!!👍👍
Kitchens normally have 2 - 3 or more separate circuits due to the usual amount of small appliances found in most kitchens. High wattage items on one circuit is a recipe for tripping breakers or worse. Enjoying the channel.
We have the above cabinet receptacles divided on two 20amp circuits. Dishwasher and fridge are on individual circuits as well. Thank you for watching out for us!
Amazing video, as usual, what a great feat you are doing, I really look forward to your Friday videos, something to look forward too, thanks for sharing.
Nice job guys!! It's OK to "whine" about the heat. It's 98 here in the mountains of "Upstate SC" so I'm with ya. The funny part, when that wire came up out of the pipe I said "Look"y there" at the same time you said "Look'y there".😅😂🤣
Thank you so much Rene! We don’t know if there is a standard other than 36” but we are planning to build them to match our height. We hope that you are having a great week!
Two words... wire fish. 😂😂😂 But your solution of very ingenious. I know it is too late but you could have used a fishing pole to shoot a line across the rafters to pull the wire with. I used something like that running network cable. Y'all are doing a great job.
Hey y'all up there where y'all put the water lines in at you cut out the wood for your waterline at your last T connector for your kitchen if that was me I would scab a piece of wood there to give the area strength again if you don't do it now you many pay for it later
I will admit that I have not read every comment so excuse me if this has already been discussed. You need more that ONE circuit to the kitchen. Like maybe 2 or 3. The plugs should be staggered like C1 - C2 - C1 -C2 - C3 - C4 - C3 -C4. This is so when you are running the high current appliances at the same time you will not over load the circuit. Also the Plugs and the lights in a room should nor be on the same circuit so if a breaker gets tripped all of the power in the room is not off. Also alternate lights in one room with plugs in the adjoining room so if a breaker gets tripped, a large area is not blacked out. Just a suggestion.
I never double comment but by god she is a cutie... I love the way Jim takes a hit on the fingers to teach her how to pounce a nail......that is a daddy/daughter thing....
Just a suggestion you might want to pressure test your water lines before you spray foam in case you have any leaks and you might want to put some deadwood in the walls where you attach your cabinets
