goff0103 that has to be in your opinion and not a general view because I find ios quite dull and boring but that's just me. It's great that we have choice.
Both Android and iOS make great phones. iOS is more simple to use, and is decently fast and Android allows you to customise your smartphone however you want. There are people who prefer iOS, and there are people who prefer Android, and both users should allowed to use any without everyone nagging about it.
Liam Keepa why nobody speaks about the major problem: iTunes! the philosophy behind itunes is "WE tell you what you can do!" - and they don't do it well at all! the hardware from apple is great, but the rest... iTunes is even today not consistent. i had so many problems with this allways-beta-version-itunes. this is the main-reason, that after so many years i give up and start looking for an android-solution.
I'm tired of the same conclusions every year: "Apple: straightforward and easy to use. Android: customizable and complex". Android is not complex. You CAN keep it simple. Most Android users I know don't customize their home screens. But at least with Android you have the CHOICE to do so. With Apple you have the choice to do nothing. You're stuck with iOS and whatever they want to bring in.
Hey folks! Want more detail? Our full written review is hot off the presses at Pocketnow, featuring the Note 4 video review, additional comparisons, and much more: pocketnow.com/2014/10/17/samsung-galaxy-note-4-review ^M
It doesn't really matter which device I own, their both capable of watching movies in HD quality from "imoviesapp, com" so that's all that matters to me.
Completely disagree... Michael straddles the fence like a politician. The comparison is full of subjective language and sometimes down right schizophrenic. "It's more slippery but yet more comfortable to hold"..."Thanks to the curves that dominate it's build" 90+% of the iphone 6 is 100% flat! Using positive colorful language to point all the wonderful aesthetics of the iPhone...then right in the next sentence "aesthetically it's not our favorite iphone".
Gustavo Duran I also own a IPhone 6 and Galaxy s6 the only thing that looks alike is the bottom. For one the Galaxy is metal and glass and the iPhone is aluminum. As far as software iOS and Samsung Touchwiz look nothing alike, and did you know Apple actually copied Samsung and Google with the notification shade? Apple also doesn't have an app drawer. I like both iPhone and Android but iOS is for children and old people who don't understand smartphones.
Except they made it better the glass is way durable on the s6 and the sides are different you can clearly tell the difference between the two. 1. The camera is in the middle 2. There is no apple logo. 3.Why would anyone want to copy the iPhone 4
welcome to the note family where we will s-note everyones life.... where the s-pen can be capable of controlling and editing values of the internet or applications this is just bullshit but the note 4 is still the best phone
These phones still can't even really be compared. One is a computer that fits in your pocket, with all the learning curve that implies. The other is just a big smartphone.
Who is the person, that started this "iOS vs Android" battle? Just get the phone you want and be happy with it and don't bash over people, because they have an iPhone or an android phone that you don't know. Like "My phone is better, iPhone is shit". Seriously, how old are you people.
Agreed. samsung fans are so butthurt that they've never come out with a phone that can outsell the iPhone that they have to go on every video and bash iPhone users even though their phones have been proven to be inferior.
Jose all I have seen you do is complain about Samsung on all these comments, get a life kid, and know what kind of trash iPhone is packing. Its like paying for Beats, Great hardware, shit specs and software for an absolutely retarded price.
So basically the Note 4 is the better phone all around from features, usability, expandability and customization, etc. And the iPhone is for simple minded people with no creativity that mostly likes the phone because... it "looks" nice? I mean the iPhone 6/6+ is great, but never compare it to a Galaxy Note.
Zahbre Banks in a way because like Jayzee Zeugirag said most iPhone users only bought it because it's apple n I guess it makes them feels good in a way but they're just wasting money on a device that is not in the same league as current android devices which are a lot cheaper n has a lot more to offer.
Danny Bennett What more does it have to offer? Useless crap like that multi screen thing? More cpu Core? for love of god those things don't make the phone.
jonoc5 that's the thing it doesn't have nothing to offer but a simple UI, locked down OS, no expandability, lack of customization... And the list can go on. I'm sure you get the point. I'm not saying to don't buy them, I would buy one and use it but not as my main phone. I need what android has to offer and in my case I prefer the Note series the most.
The note 4 mic sucks so much it picks up so much ambient noise......On another note, this is one of the best comparison videos i'v ever seen. He gave both phones a fair shot and wasn't biased at all....Keep it up man!
The audio in the video recorded by Note 4 was actually more stereo, richer, and louder than the one by iPhone. If you watch other review videos comparing iPhone 6/6 Plus recorded videos you can tell the much muted audio. But of course, it's more likely just a software issue so Apple surely can improve the sensitivity of the mic in future updates.
It wasn't even close. The Note 4's speakers completely trumped the iPhone 6's. Anyone that says differently is an iPhone Fanboy or has no sound perception what so ever.
Sitting on the fence type of review. Saying which phone suits which type of user can be said for any iPhone with about any android device. In all honesty, there are a few non-subjective points like the sheer definition and amount of detail on the Note 4 screen and camera needs to be mentioned, and you can only see the big difference in a side by side comparison on the same images. Regarding simplifying things, using the Note on a regular basis and ignoring all the other gimmicky complications is not hard at all to do. It's like saying one can be rich but yet lead a simple life.
Axl Crush We don't feel the need to call out "winners" or "losers" in our comparisons. And we clearly called out the disparity in screen and camera resolution. ^M
haha. Samsung fanboy. How can the Note beat any iPhone? Everybody in my family is an android user and I'm the ONLY app user. iPhone is better. It doesn't have all the features Samsung has, that's true. It doesn't have the pen like the Note series do. True. TBH, that's the only thing I liked on my Note 3. I could sign documents on it but other than that, I think iPhone is a lot more user friendly and more reliable.
its depends on the user if you are a techy and a person who doesnt have that much time on going time the note 4 is the better phone but if you are a simple person who likes stylish and big screened phones u can use the iphone
Bilegt Battsooj I don't know what techy and Note have in common. I'm a developer and almost all (80%) of my coworkers including my bosses all use some kind of iPhone. It's not about being techy, it's about reliability, speed and security. Samsung phones or any android phone in general lack those main points. They might be fast but definitely not reliable or secure. I can't trust a phone that will pop up things on my screen and open the App Store while I'm actually doing something important like sending an urgent text message. Do you know how frustrating that is? I can't trust a phone that will have call issues, Wifi issues etc.. It's not about iPhone. It's about androids. I would rather use a Nokia Lumia than use any android at this point as they're a lot more secure and reliable than any android phone I have ever run into.
Bilegt Battsooj Why would I use a 7 series? They're talking about Note 4 so if you want to mention Windows OS then talk about Lumia 1520 or so, not some 720 that I would still choose over the first galaxy phones.
Iphones only record audio in mono while the Note 4 records audio in stereo. For some reason you don't really see North American reviewers commenting about this.
Ibraheem Al hadede Yeah I watch him too. I like how he does his camera comparisons. If people only watch North American reviewers I can understand why they think that the iPhone is so great. It wasn't until I saw SuperSaf and other Non-American reviewers that I realized that iPhones don't have the best camera overall as most American reviewers claim.
The iphone ruins the concept of "smartphone." The reason people choose it is because it is simple and easy to use. If they want that, they should just get an old flip phone. It's a lot cheaper. There is nothing on the iphone better than a flip phone if that's what they want. The flip phone is very easy to use. They want classiness? A smartphone can't be classy if it doesn't have smart features. And it's not like the note 4 is crazy hard to use. Smartphones are for people who want good phones with features. Those who don't want features should get a flip phone.
I didn't say the iphone isn't a smartphone. I said that the reason people choose the iphone over the android phone is because it's a lot easier to use. I have used both, and the only thing the iphone does is take pics, social media, and play games. You wouldn't be losing much if you used a keyboard smartphone that has internet as well. It's a lot cheaper. The note 4 has a lot more features and is definitely a smarter phone than the iphone. It's a lot more versatile and is not so limited in terms of what you can do like install roms and change your launcher. Sure, you can jailbreak the iphone but it still is limited compared to an unrooted android phone. The specs on both devices are good. The software is the problem.
I don't need ask mkbhd, I owned them before you were allowed out of your house after dark. i.e. Motorola q, palm treo (which was TOUCH SCREEN BTW) etc...the Iphone revolutionized the experience, then Google jumped on the lucrative bandwagon.
Rocco Muffoletto okay bro. I don't stick to one brand. I go for what's the best. I used to like the iphone since like you said, it revolutionized the smartphone experience. However, it is not that smart compared to android anymore.
where apple fails with the 6 plus is that it is literally the same phone as the 6 just bigger. only thing that is different is the resolution. The note excels in the sense that it is a completely different phone from the regular galaxy phones. it has tons of features and the specs are better. In my opinion, apple was just lazy with the 6 plus. It doesnt even allow you to do multitasking. With a screen that big, you need to have some sort of multitasking functionality. In the end, the 6 plus seems like a mini mini ipad.
Multitasking on a six inch screen is no fun. I use my computer if I am doing anything productive. I and tens of millions of others buy a phablet for a bigger screen, not to split it into two smaller screens. All the multitasking like copy and paste on the Note can be done just as quick with an iPhone with gestures and apps that facilitate this. But both phones have the positives and negatives so done to preference.
If theishit6+ has multitasking like the note 4 with that spect you will have to wait 2 hours before it will open. They only way why ios is snapy becouse it's a skin down os or bare bone. If you add 1 or 2 features you will strain the cpu and ram and damage it or brick or it will lag like hell like my niece ishit4 when I updated to ios8. Now I have to sell it on kijiji and buy her a new one ( I am glad she like her s3 now )
the 6 plus is bigger and better ! not a big difference but the battery is big so it's better and other things that i don't really know. And it's for this that i am going to buy the 6 plus
And this, my friends, is why Samsung fans are hated around the world. "If you don't like what I like or if you choose something else for whatever reason, you are dumb." Thanks, God!
My job is working with a computer, and things are very complicated, so i prefer to have something simple and easy to use in my pockets, plus it looks better.
Ill go with the iphone 6plus i see myself using apple pay more than an s pen. Also i hate the audio jack at the top of the note 4 its easier to slip in your pocket while its on the bottom like the 6plus. I tend to be outside more and the iphone 6 plus has less glare on its screen than the note 4 but the note 4 does have multitasking and that is what i want very bad but i just hate touchwiz..
wow next time just go into an apple store, they get shipments more frequently. Most people think its hard getting one the first few weeks in a apple store but it really isnt
I like both phones. I prefer iPhone because of its consistency. I like knowing that when I pick up my phone I'm only a swipe away from my camera, a fingerprint away from unlocking my device, a swipe away from turning volume and brightness up and down and that it only takes a few seconds. No hate on android, it just feels more complicated for no reason. I used HTC One M8 for a while and was bored with the phone very easily, even despite its "many" features. Of course, you should get a device because it appeals to your needs. People don't buy apple because its easier to understand, they buy it because its a device that allows people to make life itself a little bit simpler. Making calls, sending texts, checking emails, watching videos, listening to music, taking notes are all LITERALLY a touch away on iOS. People shouldn't be called stupid for not wanting a phone to be the same as a PC. Yeah, you can do alot of shit with your Android, but do people REALLY want to? I shouldn't have to change tons of features on one of the "top of the line" phones in order to make my experience better. In conclusion, I don't use iPhone because it costs alot of money, because alot of people have it, to simply take selfies, or because its an Apple product. I use it because it makes handling things easier, and theres nothing better than knowing a phone is going to do EXACTLY what you tell it to do, and with excellent performance. I like android too though, it just doesn't make things easier for me, and lets be honest, if you're going to pay over $400 for a phone, it should make things easier in at least SOME ways.
If you are willing to actually customize your phone then I believe android is simpler. I have a gs4 and love it. Touchwiz kind of sucks so I changed it. The lock screen kind of sucks so I changed it. Anything you dislike about android you can change. I have rooted my phone and deleted all of the crapware so they don't take up any ram, and my custom os uses less ram than stock so my phone is incredibly fast. I didn't like having to search for my music so I put it on the lock screen, I can literally play my favorite playlist without unlocking the phone. I also get tired of turning the volume down for work and back up afterwards, now I know that Iphones make this incredibly simple by making it just a switch on the side. But by using tasker I have set my phone to go into silent mode any time I am at work. I also have it turn my WiFi on once I arrive home and turn it off when I leave. Now that I have made my phone mine (something you can't do with Iphone) I think it is simpler to use than Iphones. Once I set up everything to just how I liked it became much less complicated and very easy to use. If you are willing to put in some effort, then Android is the way to go.
John McGaughey Thats just it. I don't need to make my iPhone mine, because when I use it feels like mine. Although I know tons of other people have it, it doesn't feel that way when using the phone. I agree you can probably make your experience much more enjoyable on Android devices, but I feel like the iPhone appeals to what I do without making it complicated so that I don't need to change anything. If iPhone wasn't so simplistic and performance wasn't so damn flawless as soon as you get it, even with some Stock apps and installations then I'd consider getting an Android. I remember when a friend of mine got the Note 4(Which is an awesome phone) he said he liked it, but was tired of having to change so many little things that he felt the phone should have had right from the get go. That's what I mean, when you pay that much for a phone, it should be a simple, clear and enjoyable experience right from the get go. I think if Customization or Simplicity isn't a big deal to someone then I'd recommend either phone, because as far as performance goes, I think someone could be happy either way.
After waiting for a month to get the Galaxy Note 4 and turning in my old iPhone 5 for $275 at Best Buy yesterday.....I was super excited and couldn't wait to check out all the bells and whistles. Well, day 1 is been brain damage to me because like the video says it's complicated to use "Android" and the 800 options it gives you to do. I am simply overwhelmed by all the tools and how to do them. I can't even take a picture that is on my screen by pressing 2 buttons at the same time like I did on my iPhone 5. Samsung is beautiful but it's like a BMW with the iDrive and the complexity of it. I own one and at first ( year ) it drove me crazy that I had to go through menus to adjust this and that instead of the pressing this button or that button. Simplistic sells and it doesn't mean you're dumb. 10 to 11 million people on the weekend of the launch speaks volumes. When I went to pick up my phone yesterday at 11:00am there was no more than 8 to 10 people. Apple's lines at their stores, Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart and even the worst store in the world to by anything ( RADIO SHACK ) had longer lines waiting to get their hands on the iPhone 6. YES I know it takes time to get use to the adjustment one must make but I have 14 days to try out this phone and I can honestly say I am having separation anxiety and I am not exaggerating at all. Good thing I have an iPad Mini to center me some what. Anyway.....Both great phones. The specs are miles apart but after looking at the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus, it's not like the iPhone is a weak suck and has completely slow working products and the pictures are not bad at all. Best Buy opens in 45 mins from now and I am so tempted just to go and get the iPhone 6 the normal size one. I couldn't fit my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in the cup holder in my Beamer. Really?? So no sense getting an iPhone 6 plus. Anyway, I have said enough. To those who like either phone, no matter what your choice you ARE NOT buying or using inferior products either way. Samsung has way more toys to play with and options with is all. Oh and I do agree that the iPhone is not looking solid like my old iPhone 5 did. It looks cheaper and the Samsung is just killing it with it's looks. IMO :)
Is none of my business I know, but I think that wouldn't be a smart move. Iphone is just like any other medium specs phone, rather mediocre but with a faithful technologically castrated blind herd. The only thing that is really big with Apple products is its price tag. Give the phone (Note 4) at least 6 months, get to know it, visit forums , you tube videos to learn more and more about it, you'll find yourself amused and fond of it , I was myself an Apple Brain washed turnip, till last year I traded my 5s for an Xperia Z1 to give it a try to Android, best thing I ever did, I just regret I didn't make the switch sooner. Iphone whatever number it is, is just a phone, boring soon, Note 4 is the best phone money could buy in the planet today, it is the Non Plus Ultra... Regards
Adolfo thanks for your feedback. I called Best Buy and they only have i phone's available for sale for Sprint. So I'm thinking this sucks!! Well, I picked up this Note 4 that I'm using right now and tried learning "new ways" of doing things. I could not take a screen shot and I went on RUclips and it just had videos for the Note 3 and all the guy did was "swipe" his hand over the phone and I did it too and it worked. Total smile on my face!! So now I'm thinking why press two buttons to take a picture for example when you can just give it a simple gesture. I'm going to agree with what you had to say and I'm going t I learn this thing and tough it out. I do not want to take the easy road and back to what I know and give Apple the satisfaction of gaining or keeping as a customer for their phone (s). Just watched a video on here in high Def and it has beautiful colors, clarity and mind blowing screen display I've ever witnessed on a phone! Have a good day!! ~Melanie
***** you can take screen shots by sliding from one end of the screen to the other it's a feature you have to turn on or just use your volume and the home button at the same time
I bet it took you some time to learn what the iphone 5 could do and how. It's the same with anything new. There are awesome tips on youtube that will show you how It will soon become second nature Is it better to have features to discover and be able to turn on/ use or have a device with less features - that's the question only you can answer.
Eager to see if Google added any Note-like software features to take advantage of the massive new Nexus. I'm sure they could do a better job of replicating the utility in a more user-friendly way. Best of both worlds.
? Well, apps often have the same price on the App Store and Google Play Store. Also, most of the most popular apps are iPhone-only or iPhone-first. In Android, you can get apps for free by downloading the AFK, though I don't think that should count considering it's illegal.
+Hands Down he's right. There are games like angry birds that are free on android but not on iOS. I had a Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and had friends that had iOS devices. The iPhone 5S was the first phone I spent $ on the mobile store
I would prefer Note 4 to 6 plus. I have iPhone 6, I don't see point of larger if no point. I must question you though, you say you have to pay for every single app in iOS. You couldn't be further from the truth. You mention Angry Birds. 79 Pence or unlimited advertising in the app? I prefer the former.
I don't care about the whole iOS vs Android debate. For me it's a case by case basis. I would prefer the N4 over the i6P, but just as easily, I'd take the i6 over the S5.
The only time I use the speaker is on GPS navi in a car but I use head phones for music not the external speaker its not even stereo so the only one with the right idea is HTC
TheGoodguyperson It's tough to convey the audio disparity on video. We asked for second (and third) opinions on the sound quality, and everyone agreed that while both phones were loud, the iPhone produced fuller, richer tones. Apologies for the short sample used here. ^M
The Galaxy might be louder but its sound is a bit more dirty, it depends on the taste, if you like loud speakers upon the sound quality well the galaxy is for you, if enjoy more the quality of the sound i should recomend iphones speakers, however i dont think that might decide wich would you buy haha
I don't even see the iPhone as a competitor for the Note 4. In my eyes it is only an option if you don't like or hate the Note 4. Simplicity is something that I wouldn't want to see on a Pagani, Rolls Royce, etc... but yeah, to each their own.
Not everybody eats clean slices of bread these days. They want a bit more, a bit of salami, a bit of salad, a bit of everything, and they want it to be affordable. The Note 4 is king of kings at the moment, and learning is a one-off situation. It's a challenge. Learn it. Master it. Rule it. This, coming from an iOS user.
By far this is the best comparison and most helpful. Right on time because today is the last day I can exchange my iPhone 6plus for the note 4. #stillundecidedlol
Sophia just give the note a chance. I felt it an bared the fruits of its nectar an it is good XD. But seriously my step dad has had the note 3 since the month after it came out an its faster than my moms iPhone 6 so the note 4 will be unstoppable
Derek Leung Actually no, if you were a software engineer you'd know that the iPhone is much more impressive and performant than the Note. With a 3rd of the ram on the iPhone, the phone operates much smoother, faster and preform more operations. Being able to move folders around on a GUI isn't really customization, customization is developing your own applications that do exactly what you want and need.
pezaventura iOS isn't really that impressive if you understand the nature of the OS. They can achieve such speed and performance with less memory spaces... well Android doesn't either. In fact, how much memory available doesn't even matter because during normal usages the system will only use a very small portion of it. Aside from that, Apple has implemented very few built-in features and doesn't have a fragmented ecosystem, which enables them too further optimize their code. However, this dependency on specific hardware is a very bad idea, since hardware can get outdated very quickly and ends up not being supported. This is why old iPhones/iPods and iPads eventually get laggier and laggier over time. Performance-wise, the iPhone is no match to the Note. One thing I hate as an engineer though is the fact that Android uses a virtual machine to run it's Java code, which potentially produces slower runtime than objective C.
Derek Leung that's the thing, performance wise the iPhone is better than the Note 4. Also Java doesn't potentially have a slower run time it does have a slower run time. Java has to run on a VM that not only makes optimization impossible, it has an unpredictable garbage collector that causes bugs and memory leaks. Android's JVM not only uses up extra memory, but it sucks up more power and many apps quickly bloat up the available memory. But iOS uses a complied C language that runs in machine code and developers can efficiently allocate and free up memory.
pezaventura yet the battery life on the Note 4 is way better... turn on the UltraPowe savings mode and u can have your phone all day and not waste any battery as to the iPhone u have to turn down the brightness to lowest and still waste a significant amount of battery... performance? are u serious? the Note 4 excells in performance... u can have unlimited apps running in the background before u see a stutter thanx to it's 3GB ram vs 1GB ram in the iPhone 6+... camera well there's no comparison here since it has 2X the MP and video recording omg... the Note 4 kills the iPhone in every single category except internal memory which iPhone can support to 128gb internally but then again u can put 128gb memory cards on it and never break a sweat
Seriously?? Okay I like both phones.. Why do you fight for something that silly!?!? Don't say iPhones are bad and don't say Samsung are bad, people get what suits them best.. And they'd really be upset if u say that about their phone I mean come on... Get what suits you best😁
then it wont be a note 4 seriously dude flashing custom rom will waste the galaxy note families skill the s pen without touchwiz the s pen is nothing so guyz never install a rom on the note 4 it wont be a note anymore
Android is nowhere close to beating iOS. Its still the most used operating system in the world. Apple's profits and no. of pieces sold worldwide say a lot about them.
Thank you for removing personal biases from this video. The lack of personal bias is what sets this video apart from the rest. Will return for more videos like this for sure!
The Note 4 simply doesnt has that big screen. It utilises it very well! Wheras the iphone 6 plus is just the same as iphone 5s with no real exclusivity on the big display. Iphone's are damn awesome, but apple should've considered better functunality on the 6 plus considering it is a phablet!
Comparison Apple vs samsung Camera : Apple (slo mo) Design : both Storage : samsung Touch : both Hd display : apple Full access on smartphone : samsung More functions : samsung Speed : apple Not hanging : apple Secured : apple Music : both Videos : samsung Lock screen : apple Home screen : samsung Apps : samsung Smart : samsung Easy and comfortable in hands : apple I think both are AMAZING Its your choice That what you want . A smartphone with more functions so buy : samsung A smartphone with very good speed so buy : apple So please don't fight Both are goods In 2013 i bought Samsung Galaxy note 3 It was amazing i love that but it was little slow and too hangs And now i just bought iphone 6 it is also amazing i just loving it but i am missing too many functions like in note 3 especially airview BOTH ARE GOOD IN MY OPINION sorry for my english i am from asia
Apple has retina display And we all know (i am not talking about you) We all know that why apple have to many haters Because it is expensive And samsung is cheaper So the difference is clear
Elegant Amto camera and display apple? Are you mad? 16mpx 2.2f wide angle 4k camera vs a 8mpx 2.1f 1080p? 2160p quad hd super amoled vs 1080p ips? You should inform better.
I'm currently using note 4 , I never feel in love with Apple there systems hard to use and limit software - Microsoft ( windows PC Os ) No 1 - Samsung ( google and galaxys ) No 2 - Apple ( iphone and macbook ) No 3
If you're holding your iPhone in one hand, then chances are you're holding a grande, quad, nonfat, one-pump, no-whip, mocha starbucks bullshit special in the other
Lmao!!! Truuuuueee!!! I had an iphone before, was loyal for years until i played around with an android. First thing i noticed was the ease of file sharing and customizations. Didn't even need a jailbreak. Sure the iphone is simple, but it gets boring fast! Got myself a note 4 and did a side by side comparison with the iphone 6+ with a co-worker of mine. And the note just...well...its better. I mean think about it. If not for the iphone finally hitting puberty we would have nothing to compare the note to.
Jesse Madison Thank you, someone agrees! I had a 4s for the longest time, it got laggy, so I bought a note 2 to replace it. Although it is somewhat outdated, I still found the note to be leaps and bounds ahead of the 4s. I rooted it (just for kicks), loaded a custom rom, and now I am frequently taking advantage of the nfc and otg functions that the 4s never had. I love it!
Note has three mics I think and it shows when the reviewer records the music video Recording those memories of parties will have better sound as well as image qualities but Apple will perfect this in a couple of years - They really are falling behind th tech.
Keeping it real this isn't even a true legitimate comparison. The Apple iPhone 6 plus is nothing more than a big screened smartphone with no purpose or true multitasking/productivity options. To Apple fanboys it means something cause they walked around for over five years with small screened handsets that were a Industry joke. To Galaxy Note owners since August 2011 we've walked around with a legitimate product with a Worldwide track record a total multitasking/productivity beast. One thing Apple and now Google has just done was show you why their silly so called phablets simply make no sense big with no purpose. At the end of the day SAMSUNG is the GOLD STANDARD everyone feels the need to copy one way or the other and they aren't bringing anything to the table that would be considered legitimate.
No point in a big screen if it's useless! The nexus 6 is just a mini nexus 7. Well they'll keep proving our point for them this enjoy their device they'll root and install new Roms xD
Most don't even see the real reason behind what Samsung has done here. Which they had time to profect . And the rest just lack the wright recipe to make a great device in this class.
I've been a die hard android fan all along. And I currently own a galaxy note 3. I utterly detest samsung for ruining the android experience. When I first purchase the phone, it was a beast. Absolutely untouchable. But after recent software updates it's laggy, buggy and the battery life is pathetic. Not to mention the samsung bloat ware that keeps running in the background. I have an iPad mini retina display, which I use as an ebook reader and to browse the internet. Despite its limitations it's been utterly loyal and a workhorse for the last two years. Not once have I had an opportunity to berate the device. I would earlier defend and boast about android to all my friends. But with my phone I feel cheated.....hence after taking back my words I'm now considering an iPhone. :((
Simple is for technologically impaired people, or idiots if you prefer. If being more easy to use its the only argument Apple has then perhaps its buyers shouldn't be looking for a smart phone at all. When it comes to "smart" the note 4 is obviously superior. Let's stop saying that it all comes down to user preferences, it doesn't. It all comes down to which phone is simply better. The Note 4 is the best phablet period.
For software and specs. But the main reason of buying an iPhone is basically the design, it's a nice and sleek design, but apple doesn't seem to really focus on innovation. (Which they should)
Nope. The note is crammed full of useless feature that don't belong in a phone, period. That multi window looks bonkers, they're trying to add to the feature list without considering whether it's worth it. This idea that they specs make the phone is so damn naive it's ridiculous; for people that actually use their phone and don't judge others based on their choice, all that matters is the experience of using it and whether it meets their needs. It is pretty much 100% personal preference.
How about older people? before to long the only phones out there will be smart phones. iPhone's will be the choice in the matter due to their simplicity, therefore making apple superior. Now it comes down to money, apple realizes this so they opt for simple. Thus making the transition from a regular phone to smart phone with less hassle. Apple owns the market on smart phones just remember that. Samsung has to pack all those useless features in there phones just to stay in the game!
jonoc5 Just because it's in the phone doesn't mean you have to use it.. You can disable all of those features btw. Whereas with the iphone you won't have those features to begin with.
Note 4 is WAY better, it's just TouchWiz bringing it down. Nova or Apex launcher should fix it right up. Or a custom ROM would be better if that's your thing. Personally, I think iPhones are for the technologically incompetent.
thank you very much Michael F., by far this is the best review I've seen so far, and I like the way you point out te features and suitable owner for each device. thank you very much
I never understood why people think Android is complicated and too hard to use. I just don't understand why it's hard. Also if you really needed to Samsung has easy mode or you could download a different launcher, even iPhone ones, to make it easier to use but like iPhone users that have used Android why is it hard? I went from a feature phone to an Android about 3.5 years ago and I never had any issue in using it. I had an iPod touch before that and that was easy to use as well. Off topic, but people also tell me that Windows 8 is hard to use. Like why? Why are these things hard to use? What is hard about them? They seem pretty straightforward to me.
People are stupid and lazy. Android is not hard to use and Windows 8 isn't either. If they took more than 5 minutes to teach themselves more than an on and off switch they'd be fine.
xXxJokerBoyxXx no kidding. I have had a wp8, android, bb10 in the last 2 years and every person gets confused on how to just unlock it. People say that my blackberry is impossible to use because they have trouble remembering to swipe up from bottom to unlock and go home. each of my phones have been easy and the worst part is that people still don't understand iOS. they just buy smartphones because they want to have apps and because everybody has them instead because they can actually use them
I've had my white note 4 since November 2014 and it's pure white, no dirt whatsoever, but I take care of My phone like it's my child so, kinda figures....
Android phones will always win because they can do what apple does and more. all of apples "innovations" have been done on android before. Android phones are definitely about value you are getting what you pay for when with apple is over priced mid tier tech.
Austen Young I use Android's but I do love song of those features that only apple has. Face time, imessage, and a few others. I wish we could get those things on android or better yet I wish we could go cross platform with them.
yannick bus Im not talking specifically about the finger print sensor, overall apples features are much better executed in design, functionality and reliability.
Lovely review guys !! Tough i would have wanted more comparison of the displays. But i loved the test what you guys did for the cameras !! I felt the 6 plus did a better job in videos and also i would suggest you guys to keep a better thumb nail picture for your video as i just did not see the video initially as the thumb nail looked bad !! Thats jus my opinion :) And also i would have appreciated if you guys had told which one you guys prefer the most !! Any ways its an excellent review and keep up the great job !!
No screen comparison, battery, and you didn't even begin to mention the specs. I know you don't want to prefer one phone over the other in these type of reviews, but this was terribly done.
Different screens and the OS makes specs and nonstarter since they both work super fast on there platform. Quad HD on 5.7 inch display is over kill, I think the ram is a bigger issue and one that makes me lean towards the note.
Touchwiz is just launcher specific to Samsung devices and not an operating system and if we have this comparative Samsung will win also because Android offer Google services like play store and other services for Google And they can change by galaxy apps and other Samsung services S-health and Watch-On and ultra saving power mode and rate sensor and multi window are a Samsung services
The phones I've used: iphone 4, iPhone 4s, iphone 5. Htc one M8, Galaxy s5 and now iphone 6 plus. I was torn between the 6 plus and the note 4. After being in the android ecosystem for over a year now, I really appreciated the features android had to offer. My home screen had all the widgets that I use that shows glance able information. I have a widget that shows sport scores for my favorite sport teams. A music playlist where I can scroll down and look through my music. Email widget that shows me all my recent emails. All these features were awesome. Absolutely loved it. Now after switching back to iOS. I noticed how my home screen is just a grid of icons. It was very hard to find the apps I use everyday so I started using the spotlight search. But then you bring OS X Yosemite and your iPad Air 2 in the picture and everything works great. The handoff features. I love being able to text people with my iPad or calling people with my iPad. It's the perfect combination for a person who has a Mac and an iPad. So when I reflect back to iOS and android. I like each OS for the functionality it can bring to me as a consumer.
I see no point in the iPhone 6 plus. It's just a huge iPhone with nothing beneficial from the size. The Note 4 though... geez as a guy who HATES Samsung I gotta say it really is something I'd buy and I don't even like phablets. Still I'd take a Nexus 5 or a 2013 Moto X over both.
*I will delete any hateful or unproductive comments so don't bother* ^^ There's currently only one thing keeping me from buying the Note 4 - because it is the best phone out there - and that is the one-handed use (my other choice would be to wait for the Galaxy S6). I use my Galaxy S3 quite often one handed and it's really important sometimes. So I'd like to hear from people who own this phone, do you use it one-handed often? If not, is it because it's too big, (meaning you'd like to but can't)? Do the special features (like shrinking the screen or floating menu) improve one-handed use and work reliable? Do you get used to the size (when I got my S3 it was kind of awkward at first, now I think it's the perfect size)?
I have a Note 4 Gold 32 gb, i don't barely use it one hand, not because u can't, but because i don't wanna, i only use it one hand, just to scroll right or left on the menu, or up & down on facebook, the video is missing some good features of the note 4, and something sayd in the video, isn't true anymore, the battery of the note 4, last longer than iphone 6 plus (my sister have an iphone 6, and i was an iPhone user for almost 5 years buyed the iPhone 4 at first), after some heavy usage routine everyday, i don't recharge my note 4 during night, and i still have 20% plus battery the other day, if u hold the back button, the phone displays apps and things u can do with 1 hand like a shortcut, u can scroll easy the menu with 1 hand, u can open the phone with fingerprint 1 hand, but sometimes is a bit difficult(the fingerprint isn't as good as iphone's)
Sorry but it could be that my hand is excessively large or yours is too small but I have no trouble using mine one handed besides android had a setting which allows you to use the device with one hand
I use it one handed, but then again i'm a dude. The Note 4 is not meant to be used one handed, it's best to have both hands on it to keep it safe from drops and falls plus you have to use the stylus at times...that is if you want to get funky with it. I love this phone, I upgraded from the GS3 to this and i'm happy and you will be too.
Yes you swipe from either side of the screen to the middle (easy gesture) and the screen shrinks to a size that you reach the top left/right corner depending on your dominant hand. It also puts a task menu switcher, home button, back button, and volume up/down buttons switcher below the shrinked screen. I use it all the time when I want to use my note with 1 hand :)
i have iphone 4 , 5s , 6plus , moto g , nexus 5 , Nokia lumia 635 in this 5 years , I can tell you iphone is the best in my opinion , at least overall iphone is the best . the iphone 4 that made in 2010 still run more smooth and more reliability in overall performance , especially in web browsing . the android phone that I use always have lag and crush problem . and android device always have youtube and video problem , android device sometimes cannot load youtube or browse video properly . it just can't load , which this youtube , video problem have never happen in my iphone 4 , 5s and 6 plus . also if your apple device , iphone have problem you can always go to apple store which they have apple store all over the world in every different city , but if your android device have problem you have to fix it yourself or sent it back to google or motorola or those companys to fix it which takes a lot of time and they can't have face to face help like apple store did . apple iphone web browsing is amazing , it smooth and you able to browse all website browsing all features without no problem at all , meanwhile android device ( nexus , motorola ) always have problem when it comes to web browsing ( lag , freeze ,! crush !) and a lot of website features , click in , is not able to browse in android device ( nexus , motorola ) and I m talking about google chrome browsing in both iphone , android , windows phone . windows phone is smooth like apple at some point , it is very cheap , only £50 ( lumia 635 ) . I use it to send microsoft word document and office purpose , windows phone will beat android soon if they improve the App Store features . the only thing android good is it most likely cheaper and it do gives more "function " and " customisation " .which you can do it on iphone too if you jailbreak your iphone and those "function " do better in a jailbreak iphone then a rooted or non rooted android device . iphone better at my opinion
Why is the squarespace logo so small on the iphone in the beginning of the video....Apple really needs to learn to use the whole screen. They havent gotten that simple concept yet. It is so ugly....
I think the simplicity and choice argument is getting a bit stale. It's 2014 you should decide which one you believe deserves a higher rating at the end of the video and declare a winner. Personally, the simplicity factor is blown way out of scale and the note 4 has to be the winner here. Considering it out classes it in almost everything you would want the phablet device to do. Simplicity only takes you so far, and it's 2014 and apple iPhone 6 is lacking so many key features. On the other hand the note 4 has all of these key features and then some.
I said iPhone 6, I meant iPhone 6 plus*. That shows you the difference between the two is minimum that people could be mixed up on which ones which. Only difference between the two is a larger screen.
What key features, please elaborate? And no the S-Pen is not a key feature for 99% of normal users. Most of the so called "features" are gimmicks that you may play with for a few days and then never use again. Being waterproof is a key feature, but it isn't, so some of these killer features please, rather than just saying so. Thanks
Well tell me about what the iPhone 6+ has over the iPhone 6? And at least samsung has made an attempt at differentiating the note 4 from s5 rather than just a larger screen. They beef up specs, and S Pen is a key feature because when you have a phone as large as 5.7 inch an S Pen helps a lot(I'm 6 ft tall and have large hands so I don't need it but I still use it due to the vast features it's capable of). S Pen being key because of its mouse like capabilites and ability to copy and paste paragraphs with ease. Another feature is the ability to truly multitask. In my 4 days with the note 4 I've done that quite often. And it's not your regular multitasking(it's some next level sht lol) I'm able to drag pictures/files(important for students), and capable of using three windows simultaneously. And a lot of the key features come naturally being an android phone and being able to utilize size better due to android having accelled in creating larger sized devices for years. And note 4 really doesn't have those gimmicks you talk about, the eye scroll and all those s3 gimmicks are gone. Also the note 4 has better one hand use if you enable it in the settings, and you can make the keyboard to float anywhere while typing which helps in multitasking.
Thanks, but none of these are of any worth to an oldie like me. I never do anything productive on a smart phone, I use my tablet or computer for that. I am typing on a Sony Z3 at the moment and I would never swap this for a N4, never ever. I have the big screen and the smoothness of an iPhone. Though I might have been tempted by the Nexus 6. I have had the N2 and N3 and both were too laggy. I hope the N4 has rectified this as then it will be a good phablet. Time will tell. Thanks for the response and yes a student is one of the niche markets that a N4 would be useful. 35 years too late for me unfortunately.
a haimes Yeah the lag is gone from previous TouchWiz iterations. A lot of the gimmicks have actually been taken out (such as eye scroll) and the Z3 is a solid phone, if there was any other phone I would get if I didn't get the note 4 it would be the z3. The reason why I chose the note 4 over it was due to the fact that I liked what the note had to offer me overall compared to the Z3. And I felt like the Z3 might be a bit too smooth and stock-y for my tastes. Coming from an htc one m7 with sense 6 which runs very similar to Xperia ui, I wanted to try out touchwiz. And I'm kinda liking touchwiz overall, it's not too childish(not this new iteration atleast) and what I like that a lot of people hate, is that when I go into the settings I see a whole bunch of icons. All the icons make me feel like I have all the features in the world (while not always useful I feel good in knowing it's there).
Android is always crashing, is slower than iOS, and it has lower quality in their apps. At the end of the day if you have to manage your company or go to school, what do you need? Send emails, write some notes, calendar, camera, calculator, some pdf or office suite and iBook, and iPhone makes that very easy and faster. I have used a lot of android phones, almost one different every month, and I was uncomfortable because regardless they were the most expensive (note 3, Galaxy S5, HTC M7,M8) all of them seems to me very disconnected from that huge hardware to software. In other words, iPhone is more efficient, makes the same or more with less hardware power and because of that battery can last longer.
Even though the Note 4 has a pen for taking notes, an sd card slot for managing files for your business(you can put it in your computer), can create diagrams with the stylus, can open the same pdf/office files while having a larger screen, and being able to swap out batteries while on a business trip completely contradicts what you just said, it seems like you just want a simple and easy to use UI.
nelson verdugo Honestly my iPad crashes more than my android phone and the apps look about the same (imo) better on android due to material design. But from a day and productive standpoint there is nothing I can't get done or can't get it done Fast on either on it's that much of a gap between the two os. You might have felt uncomfortable because you were so use to the apple ecosystem
Its funny, what the Note 4 does offer that the iPhone doesn't, is complex compared to the iPhone, but what the iPhone offers that is simple(like swipe down for notifications and swipe up for control center) the Note 4 does that in the same simple manner. The point of my comment is if you take away all of the features users aren't used to from the Note 4, you have a simple iPhone iOS interface.
henrystrikesback i have an iphone 6 plus and note 3 and you wont beleave i dont have an extra battery for my note 3 like why do i cry another battery for me it feels stupid
***** that's what I mean. If I wanted to use my Note 3 as a simple phone like how someone would use an iPhone, I could! But if I wanted to be the power user that I am, and for reasons why I bought the Note 3 in the first place, I could just learn its complex software features.
This is exactly what I was thinking during the video. You can run the note 4 as a simple app drawer like the iPhone and then when your ability or needs change you have the added features to take advantage of. I'm heavily embedded into the apple eco system at home but I use a nexus 5 and a note 2 until I can get the note 4.
Zain Rajpoot because it can break, that's what those batteries do, and you can change them. i usually change 3 in 2 years. if i'd use iphone i would had changed 3 phones in 2 years. that's the difference.
If you want a expensive phone, be seen to have one, splash out on a iPhone ..if you want a fully flexible multi media device then Note 4 will win by a country mile ...I'd put it [iPhone 6] third after Sony's Z3 ...
much rather have the iphone 6 than the galaxy note 4. i mean i'm sure it's fine, but i don't have a good record with flagship galaxy products. i bought a galaxy s4 at full retail last year and it was amazing for about 3 weeks, then it just started freezing constantly and shutting itself off. the internet would take forever to load and freeze even when the 4g lte was lighting up..... i'm sure it was a defective unit, but i've literally never had an issue with any iphone or apple product other than their horrible mice. iphone 4s worked great from 2012-2014. and my 5s is flawless other than the problems with the shitty sprint network.
I've had the opposite. The 5s must have been defective but it was an absolute pain to use. Laggy, poor battery life and the freezing. Just a bad apple lol.
Yeah this is basically my entire experience with the galaxy line, only I had the s3 and my i5 is basically the same as the day that I bought it. I just can't justify going to the i6 though, since its really the same phone as the 5.
Matt Rawson i've been considering a moto x actually. other than the camera it looks perfect. samsung phones are killer up front but i can't spend that kind of money on an s5 and have it take a shit on me like the s4 did.
people buy the iphone because its' exagerated price shows or indicated that people have money. it's an expensive,m overpriced phone, therefore people buy it, to let others know they can afford it. if the iphone's price fell down by 1/3, nobody would buy it anymore because it would not represent the financial status it represents now. and there's the simplistic design, which adds to it, and matches almost every outfit, every accessory. it's as simple as that. people who say 'i am just used to the iphone, i like the simplicity' are basically saying 'i know android is more functional, has more features and is more user friendly but if i switch, people won't look at me and think i've got more money than them' anymore. and don't even get me started on the teenager iphone trend. it doesn't matter whether you've got the iphone 4, 5, 5s or 6. if it's an iphone, it shows you can, or once could afford an overpriced phone, therefore you must have more money than others.
So i used to be an android fan. I had all the galaxys untill the s6 edge, and thats where i drew the line. Yes, android has better specs ON PAPER. But the iphone will always be fluent and premium. I recently switched to the iphone 6. I love that the finger print scanner always works, ios never lags and its just so easy to use, its fast, and not to mention the iphone 6 is beautiful, sleek, and it feels so good in the hand. I even got a couple compliments on how pretty it is. I used to bag on iphones all the time, but now that i got one, im NEVERR going back to android. I dont care about customization at all, and android lags a shit ton. Nobody cares that your phone has 4 gb of ram. Mine only has 1 and its still fast and never stutters or lags. Yeah android music is free, but at least Itunes doesnt give you shitty remixes. Rant over
so galaxy has more then just the "S" series. the notes in my opinion are way better then the "s" phones. and iphones really cant compete with specs at all.
Glad ya feel that way-but seriously, Android and Galaxy note (all versions) takes a giant chunky shit on every iPhone-past present and future versions. Sorry-deal with it!
yeah i like galaxy way more, i would much rather to be able to customize my phone and actually have good use out of it. iphone just has a decent camera. not even that its just got good slo-mo thats it
***** Actually, if you like either/both, go with the Note 4. A few years back, Steve Jobs said at an interview "If you want to watch porn on the go, buy an Android phone." That same year, Android sales increased about 30% and Apple sales decreased about 15%. This is not a joke.
I got my Note 4 a few days ago and I LOVE IT! The iPhone 6 is a decent phone, but cannot compare to the Samsung... The Note 4 isn't hard to understand either, It will take a bit of getting used to because of the sheer amount of things you can do with it, once you know what you're doing, no other phone on the market comes close.... I'm not going to rip into the iPhone 6 and says it's crap, because it isn't. It's a great phone for what it does and people do prefer simplicity... The Note 4 is more powerful, has Multi-Tasking, the 'S Pen' (which I didn't think I'd use a lot, but have used it A LOT!), Better battery and is absolutely packed with features... If that is what you're after, then the Galaxy is for you! I hate the divide of iPhone & Samsung Users, both saying the other is crap and how they don't like it, but it's what you get used too.... I've had the iPhone 4, 5, 5S and Samsung Galaxy Note 2, 3 & now 4 and in my opinion, I found the Samsung phones better. But that's only my opinion. Everyone's different!
Ive come to realize note is like battlefield hard to learn but when you do it's better than iphone, but iphone is like call of duty where it takes no skill to play but more people buy it because they are too lazy to learn how to do something.
ok guys of course iphone is a good phone and has a good software but dont you think they are too expensive for 750p screen? and plus very bad battery life?? it takes to long to charge it too about 2 and 30min or longer wich is very bad i had an iphone 6 and 6s and they didnt even last me half day so the rest of the day i was just charging them for hours lol
Apple had three years to come up with a way to move this size device. Comparing it to the Note is wrong because they are completely different devices in ability and features. A more realistic contest would be with Sony, HTC and Nexus 6 devices
Is it really necesarry to have a screen protector on the note 4?? How durable/strong is the screen for those who dont use a screen protector for their note?
A small computer vs a large smartphone.
Note the difference.
the note is the larger phone ^^ in any dimensions except height
***** I guess you didn't get what I was trying to say but okay...
Maybe he did and you are the slower one....
whiteandnerdytuba Maybe lol
goff0103 that has to be in your opinion and not a general view because I find ios quite dull and boring but that's just me. It's great that we have choice.
Both Android and iOS make great phones. iOS is more simple to use, and is decently fast and Android allows you to customise your smartphone however you want. There are people who prefer iOS, and there are people who prefer Android, and both users should allowed to use any without everyone nagging about it.
Android also has great performance
probably the best comment on this video and yet nobody wants to read it because they'd rather just wage war.
I totally agree with you
Liam Keepa Thank you for being a voice of reason.
Preach it brother
Amen.
To be fair, we didn't say *Android* was complex. We said Samsung's third-party UI atop it is. Which we stand behind. ^M
So, if they don't customize and don't use the complex features, why don't they use an iPhone?
Dvich Sorry, but what a dumbass question that was.
i use a note 4. someone called it a 6+ a few days ago. they are now on my least favorite people ever.
🤣
I Velcro my note 3 with iphone6splus
No one cares and you are probably the least favorite person by THEM too. Hahaha. Imagine that. Groups of people hating on u. Lol
Hey folks! Want more detail? Our full written review is hot off the presses at Pocketnow, featuring the Note 4 video review, additional comparisons, and much more: pocketnow.com/2014/10/17/samsung-galaxy-note-4-review ^M
how to contact to you make video?
Are u living in cave? If you want best performance and good quality phone just go for iphone!
bbqqreen Hope that was a joke....
It doesn't really matter which device I own, their both capable of watching movies in HD quality from "imoviesapp, com" so that's all that matters to me.
Luke Tyler
Michel you nailed this comparison you can't be more unbiased.
rounak dutta Thanks very much! ^M
Sean Zander Yeah he's obviously an Apple fanboy.
yeah Michael you did nail it we love you :D :)
Nice comparison. Well used of verbs and not much negativity. A recommended review.
Windsor Lim Thanks for watching; glad you enjoyed it! ^M
I guess the main feature of the Iphone is a mute switch.
+Gustavo Duran They don't look anything alike.
+Gustavo Duran you're dumb if you honestly think that.
Gustavo Duran lol suuuuure
Except they made it better the glass is way durable on the s6 and the sides are different you can clearly tell the difference between the two. 1. The camera is in the middle 2. There is no apple logo. 3.Why would anyone want to copy the iPhone 4
no long talk..note 4 all the way
Agreed
im commenting using my note 4
welcome to the note family where we will s-note everyones life.... where the s-pen can be capable of controlling and editing values of the internet or applications
this is just bullshit but the note 4 is still the best phone
Yeah baby!
Darius Maxim bullshit.
ok so to sum up your video: iphone for simple minded and note 4 for customization and utility. got it! thx!
took the words right outta my mouth
These phones still can't even really be compared. One is a computer that fits in your pocket, with all the learning curve that implies. The other is just a big smartphone.
What abut the Hard rate sensor, the Air blaster (ir), the Air gestures, the SD card slot and the optical video stabilization???
*about, *heart
Who is the person, that started this "iOS vs Android" battle? Just get the phone you want and be happy with it and don't bash over people, because they have an iPhone or an android phone that you don't know. Like "My phone is better, iPhone is shit". Seriously, how old are you people.
My guess would be the first android users, since iOS came first. It was hard to be on any non-GSM carrier in those days. I Remember...
Agreed. samsung fans are so butthurt that they've never come out with a phone that can outsell the iPhone that they have to go on every video and bash iPhone users even though their phones have been proven to be inferior.
Jose all I have seen you do is complain about Samsung on all these comments, get a life kid, and know what kind of trash iPhone is packing. Its like paying for Beats, Great hardware, shit specs and software for an absolutely retarded price.
Blazedragonsword
Awww look, another samsung sheep hating on Apple when he's probably never owned one lol. Start thinking for yourself loser :)
Don't even forget that you can't come up with good insults such as "samsung sheep" wtf? Come back when your balls hit the ground iSheep.
***** I know right. There's nothing to compare. Plus you get more for less cash.
So you have to be simple minded to just want a iPhone and don't really feel android? Hm great logic
TeleFire3 Thanks for the support! ^M
Full of shit.
Are you serious???? it was the better MIC it records in actual stereo unlike the Iphone mono, you must be deaf or something....
It wasn't even close. The Note 4's speakers completely trumped the iPhone 6's. Anyone that says differently is an iPhone Fanboy or has no sound perception what so ever.
Wtf i am watching it in 2024
This has got to be the most unbiased review I've heard yet. Good job Pocketnow. :)
I bet you can compare the note 4 against the iPhone 7, and the note will still win
I would rather use a Nokia Lumia than use any android at this point as they're a lot more secure and reliable than any android phone I have ever run into.
oh u should use the lumia 720 the pop upps and os is so nice
Bilegt Battsooj Why would I use a 7 series? They're talking about Note 4 so if you want to mention Windows OS then talk about Lumia 1520 or so, not some 720 that I would still choose over the first galaxy phones.
I love how you do your reviews! Always well made, and unbiased. Hard to find!
Was debating before but now I see how amazing note 4 is. Also is it me or does note 4 pick up the sound quality in recording much better.
Iphones only record audio in mono while the Note 4 records audio in stereo. For some reason you don't really see North American reviewers commenting about this.
Mountain Dew good to know, that seems like a software issue?
Mountain Dew I know about this from SuperSaf TV :)
Ibraheem Al hadede
Yeah I watch him too.
Um. The iphone CREATED the idea of a smartphone.
Also, there were a lot more smartphones before the iphone came out. The iphone is one of the first touch screen phones. Ask MKBHD.
Unknow you do know that the note 4 has a bigger and better battery
amfrepo RUclips while browsing the web. Do tell me how i can do that on an iPhone.
WOW! This was the most awesome comparison ever!!! Keep them coming!
Did you really draw that Enterprise D, Michael? If so, you just gained even more respect from me, which I didn't think was possible.
Sure did, Will! And thanks! ^M
He made it clear, if you are rich and stupid get the iphone ... if the ability to get how the new technology works get the note !
LOL
And this, my friends, is why Samsung fans are hated around the world. "If you don't like what I like or if you choose something else for whatever reason, you are dumb."
Thanks, God!
My job is working with a computer, and things are very complicated, so i prefer to have something simple and easy to use in my pockets, plus it looks better.
Julian Pamplin hahahahahahahhaah because Apple fanboys are so loved the reason i dont use an ishit like you its probably cuz im smarter
Julian Pamplin and while you're making one of the most dumbest comments in the world ppl at apple are whipping their asses with your money
I ordered my 6 Plus for Verizon but it only ships November 7.
Pat Dow I ordered mine from Apple and its just arriving on 20/10/14 (I ordered 15/09/14)
Patrick Usher where do you live because that's a long time
UK
wow next time just go into an apple store, they get shipments more frequently.
Everything you've described as being a swipe away in iOS, can be handled and performed the same way on Android, just as easily.
TreDeShawn performance is NOT flawless.
Dante Bradley Have you used an iPhone 6?
~Melanie
Enjoy it, I envy you :-) , won't have it in Mexico till the 24th... Regards
***** you can take screen shots by sliding from one end of the screen to the other it's a feature you have to turn on or just use your volume and the home button at the same time
I bet it took you some time to learn what the iphone 5 could do and how.
It's the same with anything new.
There are awesome tips on youtube that will show you how
It will soon become second nature
Is it better to have features to discover and be able to turn on/ use or have a device with less features - that's the question only you can answer.
Note 4 is better for me, because plus micro sd card slot, removable battery, S Pen, ir blaster, premium design and large battery.
Eager to see if Google added any Note-like software features to take advantage of the massive new Nexus. I'm sure they could do a better job of replicating the utility in a more user-friendly way. Best of both worlds.
Very classy review!!! Great work!!!
One of the reasons I don't like IOS is because YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR ALMOST EVERY SINGLE APP!!! And in an android you don't...
But Android gets a bunch of ads on some of those.
esa es una de las razones de por que las apps trabajan mejor en iOS lol
I would prefer Note 4 to 6 plus. I have iPhone 6, I don't see point of larger if no point. I must question you though, you say you have to pay for every single app in iOS. You couldn't be further from the truth. You mention Angry Birds. 79 Pence or unlimited advertising in the app? I prefer the former.
I don't care about the whole iOS vs Android debate. For me it's a case by case basis. I would prefer the N4 over the i6P, but just as easily, I'd take the i6 over the S5.
Good point
*****
my brother paid $70.00 to trade in his note 3 for a note 4 pretty good deal to me.
i got the 6+ and the biggest upgrade is the battery.
The iphone has horrible speakers in both loudness and quality whats michael talking about
yeah i think the samsung had a better speaker too
The only time I use the speaker is on GPS navi in a car but I use head phones for music not the external speaker its not even stereo so the only one with the right idea is HTC
Samsung note4 has poor graphic & gaming performance
Great video. The different backgrounds are a nice touch
If you eat all these components you going to have gonorrhea , which you will never have on an iPhone :-)
احمد محمود Would you live in a house that was made of marble, but had nothing else in it? No bed, no TV, no kitchen, no food?
By far this is the best comparison and most helpful. Right on time because today is the last day I can exchange my iPhone 6plus for the note 4. #stillundecidedlol
Sophia just give the note a chance. I felt it an bared the fruits of its nectar an it is good XD. But seriously my step dad has had the note 3 since the month after it came out an its faster than my moms iPhone 6 so the note 4 will be unstoppable
Simplicity is just another word for "we didn't put much effort into it" but people are still going to buy it smh.
ikr actually i would like to work at apple, u don't have to think to make anything different just change the name and ppl will buy it
Derek Leung Actually no, if you were a software engineer you'd know that the iPhone is much more impressive and performant than the Note.
Apple is shit
i personally don't give a shit if someone likes my phone
Love my 6plus. Love my note 4. Just sometime my note 4 stuck on my games. N glitch wheny to switch apps. Hmm.
your everywhere
+Rose Gold
Apple is shit, yet, somehow it's always the best when it comes to speed and fluidity. So go fuck yourself
>Get note 4
>Root note 4
>Install custom ROM of your choice
You're golden
> Trip Knox counter
> Warranty is now fucked
> Priceless
>>>Needing warranty
then it wont be a note 4 seriously dude flashing custom rom will waste the galaxy note families skill the s pen without touchwiz the s pen is nothing so guyz never install a rom on the note 4 it wont be a note anymore
tombrero > end up with a useless wacom pen
> phone is unstable now
> some features like camera not working
#rootedforlife
I realised this after I got one, I thought touchwiz was really as bad as people were saying, but it's really not (after I installed Nova anyway)
Android always beat apple
Yep
How much has Samsung sold compared to Apple? Exactly
Zing Zang I don't know but he said *Android* anyway
Android is nowhere close to beating iOS. Its still the most used operating system in the world. Apple's profits and no. of pieces sold worldwide say a lot about them.
Little butt hurt bitches. Its one mans opinion.
***** most andriod apps have dual pane portriat modes. It's nothing special.
***** maybe iOS 11 or even 20

We all know that why apple have to many haters
Because it is expensive

So the difference is clear
Elegant Amto atm in my country the 32gb note and the apple iphone 6 16gb are the same price

I'm currently using note 4 , I never feel in love with Apple there systems hard to use and limit software
- Microsoft ( windows PC Os ) No 1
- Samsung ( google and galaxys ) No 2
- Apple ( iphone and macbook ) No 3
SEeeed Ksa cool
SEeeed Ksa I'm using a note 4 to watch this
@@SRM13 yeahhhh... I dont think the note 4 is good these days
Bcoool 2017 yeah mine shit itself
@@SRM13 yea it's an old phone now
Fantastic!
Of all the comparisons done on these two VERY DIFFERENT phones, this has been the only unbiased one.
Well done.
Note 4 is my first choice my second is the nexus 6 my third Sony xperia z3 the iPhone 6 plus is like in 10 place on my list what bout u?
Just got an iPhone 6 Plus! Why? to look cool, duh!
Lol
When im looking for a phone, looking call never crosses my mind.
got a galaxy note 4 because the battery life is good, faster, bigger, better software s pen, duh
If you're holding your iPhone in one hand, then chances are you're holding a grande, quad, nonfat, one-pump, no-whip, mocha starbucks bullshit special in the other
LOL!!!!!!
I love it!
+Jack Duno Someone finally realize that people only buy Iphone for Fashion. People will rather have a popular item then a Functional one.
+Jack Duno True that. If you are holding and android on one hand, chances are you're holding a bubble tea slash with extra pearls :D
Watching on note 8 in 2019...a beast it is...love this note series
The galaxy note 4 is still a good phone but I am so sad about my galaxy note 7.
Wow. The Note 4 video and audio is better than the 6 Plus. Well, at least in this video.
Note has three mics I think and it shows when the reviewer records the music video
Recording those memories of parties will have better sound as well as image qualities but Apple will perfect this in a couple of years - They really are falling behind th tech.
Does the iPhone 6 record it's video sound in stereo? I read someplace else that it didn't, but wasn't sure.
I don't know either Carl Sims.
Carl Sims It doesn't, Iphones have always recorded mono
I agree. It's not even in the same class as the NOTE 4. Its just a BIG IPhone. Nothing more....
Simply better... Very interesting choice of words, so simplicity is desirable?
You forgot the front facing camera samsung improved it lots. Or did I miss that?
***** We cover the front-facing camera in the full Note 4 review, which is processing as we type this. It'll be up later today. ^M
Iphone 6 improved their front facing camera too?
***** And theres that one apple fan.
YES BISHI I AM A APPLE FAN
Note 4 is WAY better, it's just TouchWiz bringing it down. Nova or Apex launcher should fix it right up. Or a custom ROM would be better if that's your thing. Personally, I think iPhones are for the technologically incompetent.
Ethan Slick I agree but custom ROMs are not easy to install so yea best option is a 3rd party launcher
thank you very much Michael F., by far this is the best review I've seen so far, and I like the way you point out te features and suitable owner for each device.
thank you very much
I never understood why people think Android is complicated and too hard to use.
People say that my blackberry is impossible to use because they have trouble remembering to swipe up from bottom to unlock and go home. each of my phones have been easy and the worst part is that people still don't understand iOS. they just buy smartphones because they want to have apps and because everybody has them instead because they can actually use them
Android is for down syndrome ppl use. They dont ask for the best, they just want normal use.
bbqqreen that argument suits iOS better
Ikr I was SEVEN when I got my first tablet which was android and in 1 week new everything! So apple if for 6 or under XD
Note 4 is the best phone ever... And perfect size 5.7 inch..... I didnt say it is the fastest but the best! Iphone just has one button
note4 has a richer sound
Watching this on 2020 during Quarantine. YT again with it's weird recommendations
What does a white galaxy note look like after 6 months? Does the white turn stained yellow?
no
I've had my white note 4 since November 2014 and it's pure white, no dirt whatsoever, but I take care of My phone like it's my child so, kinda figures....
that's probably because you've got a case for it
K Stanford I actually don't have a case for my phone, so ok yea
Brenster2223 I take care of my phone more than my child actually lol
Android phones will always win because they can do what apple does and more. all of apples "innovations" have been done on android before. Android phones are definitely about value you are getting what you pay for when with apple is over priced mid tier tech.
Yes I agree with you, it's just Apple does those things better. For example Touch ID works much better on the iPhone.
Austen Young 1 thing SAMSUNG IS NOT ANDROID. There are more android phones with better sensors
Austen Young I use Android's but I do love song of those features that only apple has. Face time, imessage, and a few others. I wish we could get those things on android or better yet I wish we could go cross platform with them.
atheistmecca download a 3rd party app then :P
yannick bus Im not talking specifically about the finger print sensor, overall apples features are much better executed in design, functionality and reliability.
i have note 5. but note 4 is better.
note 5 is just an iphone in samsung.
I skipped the Note 5'cuz I'm waiting on the 6. I didn't get 5 cuz they took away SD card. I'm still enjoying my Note 4.
+LJJ r. i heard they skip the note 6. note 7 is coming.
note seven is out now :)
Miranda Galussio note seven explode
reza muzaki pretty much😅😅
Lovely review guys !!
*Grabs popcorn and watches review while a flame war happens in the comments*
This man knows
No screen comparison, battery, and you didn't even begin to mention the specs. I know you don't want to prefer one phone over the other in these type of reviews, but this was terribly done.
Um, He did both screen and battery...
They review mobile phones instead of flashing specs up on the screen as the video.
and also the specs ... they don't matter... at the end its performance on both sides
Andre Wolff Well some specs do matter and have a direct impact on performance.
Different screens and the OS makes specs and nonstarter since they both work super fast on there platform. Quad HD on 5.7 inch display is over kill, I think the ram is a bigger issue and one that makes me lean towards the note.
Nice video! But I refuse to see this as iOS vs Android. It's iOS vs touchwiz.
agreed.
Right
Touchwiz is just launcher specific to Samsung devices and not an operating system and if we have this comparative Samsung will win also because Android offer Google services like play store and other services for Google
And they can change by galaxy apps and other Samsung services S-health and Watch-On and ultra saving power mode and rate sensor and multi window are a Samsung services
Touchwiz is android
Tommy Lee now is not android Touchwiz is independent from Android
*I will delete any hateful or unproductive comments so don't bother* ^^
There's currently only one thing keeping me from buying the Note 4 - because it is the best phone out there - and that is the one-handed use (my other choice would be to wait for the Galaxy S6).
I use it all the time when I want to use my note with 1 hand :)
i have iphone 4 , 5s , 6plus , moto g , nexus 5 , Nokia lumia 635 in this 5 years ,
I can tell you iphone is the best in my opinion , at least overall iphone is the best . the iphone 4 that made in 2010 still run more smooth and more reliability in overall performance , especially in web browsing .
the android phone that I use always have lag and crush problem . and android device always have youtube and video problem , android device sometimes cannot load youtube or browse video properly . it just can't load , which this youtube , video problem have never happen in my iphone 4 , 5s and 6 plus .
also if your apple device , iphone have problem you can always go to apple store which they have apple store all over the world in every different city , but if your android device have problem you have to fix it yourself or sent it back to google or motorola or those companys to fix it which takes a lot of time and they can't have face to face help like apple store did .
apple iphone web browsing is amazing , it smooth and you able to browse all website browsing all features without no problem at all ,
meanwhile android device ( nexus , motorola ) always have problem when it comes to web browsing ( lag , freeze ,! crush !) and a lot of website features , click in , is not able to browse in android device ( nexus , motorola )
and I m talking about google chrome browsing in both iphone , android , windows phone .
windows phone is smooth like apple at some point , it is very cheap , only £50 ( lumia 635 ) .
Mario McIntosh That's a function of how Google displays Image Search results in Safari. ^M

Mister cra cra here ^^^
Such a slick review with great narration, pleasure to watch.
You might have felt uncomfortable because you were so use to the apple ecosystem
my ipad need at least a restart every 2-3 days, idk but my s5 doesnt
Natanael Agustinus Neither my Android phone or my iPad needs a restart. You guys has such of problems lol :p
Natanael Agustinus you should upgrade ur os.
Great review, love the way you did it! thanks
Note 4 is just miles better....
agree that phone is a beats but I learn something the note 3 battery last longer then the note 4 I don't know why
much rather have the iphone 6 than the galaxy note 4. i mean i'm sure it's fine, but i don't have a good record with flagship galaxy products. i bought a galaxy s4 at full retail last year and it was amazing for about 3 weeks, then it just started freezing constantly and shutting itself off. the internet would take forever to load and freeze even when the 4g lte was lighting up..... i'm sure it was a defective unit, but i've literally never had an issue with any iphone or apple product other than their horrible mice. iphone 4s worked great from 2012-2014. and my 5s is flawless other than the problems with the shitty sprint network.
And that is why you get something like a Moto X or a Nexus
Matt Rawson i've been considering a moto x actually. other than the camera it looks perfect. samsung phones are killer up front but i can't spend that kind of money on an s5 and have it take a shit on me like the s4 did.
Note 4 for me please. I don't want simple, I want to get the most experience out of a phone that costs 700ish,
Cool sunglasses, on the intro. And the intro too of course!
people buy the iphone because its' exagerated price shows or indicated that people have money. it's an expensive,m overpriced phone, therefore people buy it, to let others know they can afford it. if the iphone's price fell down by 1/3, nobody would buy it anymore because it would not represent the financial status it represents now. and there's the simplistic design, which adds to it, and matches almost every outfit, every accessory. it's as simple as that. people who say 'i am just used to the iphone, i like the simplicity' are basically saying 'i know android is more functional, has more features and is more user friendly but if i switch, people won't look at me and think i've got more money than them' anymore. and don't even get me started on the teenager iphone trend. it doesn't matter whether you've got the iphone 4, 5, 5s or 6. if it's an iphone, it shows you can, or once could afford an overpriced phone, therefore you must have more money than others.
Rant over
+Meagen Kasey Lol ^-^
so galaxy has more then just the "S" series. the notes in my opinion are way better then the "s" phones. and iphones really cant compete with specs at all.
Glad ya feel that way-but seriously, Android and Galaxy note (all versions) takes a giant chunky shit on every iPhone-past present and future versions. Sorry-deal with it!
yeah i like galaxy way more, i would much rather to be able to customize my phone and actually have good use out of it. iphone just has a decent camera. not even that its just got good slo-mo thats it
the part when u said "ios will never lag..", trust me after one software update, you will see stutters. i know this because i have the iphone 5.
samsung galaxy Note 4 wins!
Really enjoyed this vid! The breakdown was on point and a very helpful conclusion.
The Note 4 Is Better In Almost Every Aspect.
The iPhone 6 Plus Is Just A Bigger Poorer iPhone 5
Well said, they're mostly same and only thing is different is hardware A8 processor.
انت اتقول جذي لانه ماعندك فلوس الايفون
حبيبي الايفون حق rich people

If you like glitchy phones, the note wins, hands down. If you like smooth and responsive, stick with the iPhone.
***** Actually, if you like either/both, go with the Note 4. A few years back, Steve Jobs said at an interview "If you want to watch porn on the go, buy an Android phone." That same year, Android sales increased about 30% and Apple sales decreased about 15%. This is not a joke.
ROG2000
Lmao. Are you serious? This comment is gold. Well said. 👍
I'm the Real One. This is true. And thanks.
summary of all this... iphone still sucks....
rowena orbita Great summary
Ive come to realize note is like battlefield hard to learn but when you do it's better than iphone, but iphone is like call of duty where it takes no skill to play but more people buy it because they are too lazy to learn how to do something.
my note 3 is still better than the iphone 6 plus for me.
i don't hate apple, but it's nothing for me,
note 4 is the way to go.
Note 4 user here, since the day it came out. Looking foward to the Note 6. ALL POWER TO THE DROIDS 💪💪💪
💪💪💪Hell yeah. Droidhead for life!
***** what phone did u order?
+Oxydizer Note 7 doesn't come out for a few weeks. I'd order that one instead. 😀
😙
people who buy iphone are people who think expensive phones are better.i d rather have an galaxy s2 than iphone 7
chupa chups lol idiot
No, i buy iphone because android phones looks like shit.
ok guys of course iphone is a good phone and has a good software but dont you think they are too expensive for 750p screen? and plus very bad battery life?? it takes to long to charge it too about 2 and 30min or longer wich is very bad i had an iphone 6 and 6s and they didnt even last me half day so the rest of the day i was just charging them for hours lol
are u sure?
i'm samsung fan
Note4 and Android are much better...
Why I'm not surprized that there are only Apple haters and Android fanboys commenting on this video..
