So you have to use the all the m54 accessories, engine harness, trans, dme, and that jumper harness and thts all? What oil pan and pick up did you use?
no sir we had e39 engine and needed e46 sump!! so you will be able to plop that b25 right in but will need m50/m52 e36 engine mounts, and prop and gear linkage from 6 pot e36 (not 328i)

will engine arms from M44 ( 318i engine ) work for mounting the m54 to the engine mounts? You said 4 pot but didn't name which engine you used
You have to use e36 m50/52 motor mounts the 4cyl won’t work

Why do you need to swap the Sump? I'm planning to do an M54B25 swap on my E36 and I read that I need the sump from an E39 M53 why is that?
