I love that you loved Dain at the beginning - it shows your fantasy innocence!!

Its amazing how much the Romantasy fans love this book and how much fantasy fans hate it.
There really seems to be no in-between

I absolutely LOVED this book! Like dare I say that this is in the running for my favorite book of the year! As far as Fantasy books go, the only other Fantasy books that I have read are the Harry Potter series (which I also absolutely adore). Fourth Wing is definitely a 6 star read for me and I could talk about it for hours and hours! One word: Xaden

So all it takes for you to enjoy a book is for the author to say the love interest is attractive enough times?

You shouldn't feel bad. The things you didn't get or whatever aren't because you don't usually read fantasy. They're because Rebecca Yarros is just not at all good at worldbuilding. She only knows enough to put up the illusion of worldbuilding and even then that illusion only works on people who desperately want to convince themselves it's actually there.

Definitely overhyped, could not get past why they talk about her infirmities every 5 pages. but like mid+, it was enjoyable and did the job I needed it to do after a very heavy Daniel Silva book.

Glad I listened and did not try to read this (and many other books) because I stress over how to pronounce the names and places (the “Game of Thrones” books were really rough!!! What is this…Tolkien?)… liked this book but not loved as well .., 😐struggling through next one and, Baby, if you thought this one was slow … yikes!!! Just wanting it to be over so I can check that box. Truly a mid sequel in my opinion. 🫤
