I saw Bob on Outlaws tour a few weeks ago… had front row … he didn’t play this but he was in super spirits laughing a lot….and him and Jim Keltner got a serious bromance going on! Bob is rejuvenated musically by his drumming and I know they go way back being friends. I think Bob just keeps getting better which is impossible …except by Gods grace …go Bob go band go Tony!
Seems like Tony and Jim found a great pocket that really works!!! and the piano is fresh and dynamic more than usual, maybe why it all fits so incredibly well. Bravo. Got me in a trance.
I was there, and this is a lovely recording, Watchtower was (ahem) a little chaotic, Ain't me Babe much better, and the show improved as it went along, Bob in fine voice. Nice to hear his guitar loud and clear on these two songs, even though in the auditorium he did his best to not let the audience see his guitar chops!
