Jazz from Gallus Hall (Ljubljana, Slovenia) series. Ljubljana Academy of Music Big Band plays best swing music. This group of best slovenian young musicians did perform cuban an carribean music in 2013. Now they perfom jazz amazing music from world musical, swing in jazz herritage. They play stunningly under the baton of Matej Hotko, charismatic leader and professor of Academy Jazz department dr. Jaka Pucihar. Energy of this group is just amazing.

Matej Hotko sodi med najvidnejše jazzovske kontrabasiste mlajše generacije. Kot kontrabasist je začel svojo glasbeno pot na klasičnem in jazz oddelku SGBŠ v Ljubljani. Po zaključeni srednji šoli je bil sprejet na Manhattan School of Music v New Yourku, kjer je bil dobitnik najvišje štipendije. Še isto leto pa je posnel svojo prvo zgoščenko Road people. Svoje znanje je pridobival od velikih glasbenikov kot so Mike Abene, Gary Dial, Chris Rosenberg, Mark Soskin, David Lalama, Bob Keller, Phil Chapp, Nancy Marano, Ira Gitler, Jeff Andrews, Slawomir Grenda in drugi, ter leta 2002 diplomiral iz jazz kontrabasa pri prof. Harvie Swartzu. Matejeva dela so slišna v veliko manjših zasedbah in big bandih na mnogih festivalih pri nas in v tujini. V zadnjem obdobju se je veliko posvečal poučevanju in razvoju materialov za kvalitetnejše šolanje jazza pri nas. Matej Hotko je tudi ustanovitelj Glasbene šole B.A.S.E..Leta 2009 je prejel Priznanje za pomembna umetniška dela Univerze v Ljubljani. Od leta 2010 poučuje tudi na Akademiji za glasbo - katedra za jazz in vodi dva Big banda Akademije za glasbo.
