Same with my Bengals and Savannahs... you don't realise how much they are holding back until you wear a glove or use your hand under a sheet so they don't realise it's you.
True. We have a Bengal and she likes to play this rough and tumble game with her daddy. But she knows the limits and she knows not to do it with mummy cos mummy's a wuss.
awe you have bengals an savannahs?! how amazing. I'm looking into getting a savannah are there any legal requirements other than documentations and papers of course) in order to get buy or adopt one? are they hard to take care of what do you usually feed them, are they domestic ?
Yeah, i currently have a female f3 savannah, and ive had 4 male bengals, one is now 17 and lives the quiet life with my parents, 2 i rescued as they could not be sold due to heart problems, they lived only 3 and 5 years but had a good life... (make sure your bengals are checked for heart issues)... They were all let out like a normal cat... male bengals tend to roam and like other cats some have poor road sense, they are no worse than other cats in that area tho. The savannah is great, she lives mostly inside, by her own choice, i let her out whenever she asks, and usually she is only out for an hour or less... i never shut her out.... shes a bit aloof, like most female cats, but really friendly and loves a lap and will sleep on a bed if given the chance.... she is a great cat, a little eccentric but nothing that should put someone off..... she eats regular dry cat food most of the time, again by her choice... but does enjoy a small amount of wet food 3 or 4 times a week...... in the UK there are no rules about bengals or savannahs... obviously a Serval is very different tho and i wouldnt even know.
My cat even distinguishes between me having long sleeves (she gets her claws out for a better grip) and me not having coverage on arms (no claws) - she bites either way, but it's just for show. The "no hand playing" rule only goes for small kittens and some more, eh, exuberant cats going through puberty.
Definitely... Savannah bites but only in play, never bites hard enough to break skin, or even leave an indentation... but she could do so easily... do not get mistaken for food!
1:04 she gave the universal "squeak" of "you're playing too rough". Also brings down the intensity of play until everyone feels comfortable. Kittens learn this with their litter mates. Everything is fine.
No she stops going for his stomach shortly after he bites her 🙄 frikkin humans always thinking they can manipulate the obvious to make them look like victims
Why is everyone saying this cat should be back in Africa and it's dangerous. If she released this poor thing in the wild in wood starve or be killed by a predator. Plus these cats have been domesticated for over 4000 years. Also captivity has helped animals that are going extinct and servals are one of them. This cat clearly has a very happy life. If it didn't it would grieve itself and wouldn't eat and die. The domesticated servals were not taken from the wild they were bred and born in captivity so you people can stop hating. Also where do you think dogs came from they came from wolves that were taken from the wild and over time became the animals we know today and almost everyone has had a dog. SO EVERYONE CAN STOP HATING. AND IF YOU DONT LIKE WHAT SHE DOES THEN STOP WATCHING HER VIDEOS.
YOU need to study more on the wild animals in Africa. There are tons of servals still wild. It's the lions, rhinos and elephants that are having extinction problems... not to mention tigers in other Asian countries. Servals don't even make the list. The #1 problem is, and you said it... these exotics were "bred and born in captivity" SO WRONG, WRONG, WRONG and cruel! When these exotic captive breeds are dumped/given or taken away, they end up living the rest of their lives in an animal sanctuary (if they don't die where dumped)....this is NOT what nature intended. There are zillions of unwanted domestic cats & dogs that desperately need good homes. I advocate that this person and others with exotics pets, stop trying to be special and attention-seeking by showing off these poor exotic pets and instead go adopt a domestic that is in desperate need of a home.
halee Dunaway Fair enough to not send these ones back if they've lived on captivity long, but don't continue this practice. Dogs and cats were domesticated centuries ago and I don't think everyone here is for continuing to breed and commodifying them. I have had cats and taken care of dogs and if we don't need them like our ancestors what we are doing is being their caretakers and companions, thanking their species for their centuries of service and acknowledging how callous we have been to them on some level.

She hasn't hurt my daughter once or anyone else, but you can see how powerful their bite actually is by putting your hand under a blanket, she doesn't know your hand is there. Did that once and she broke skin on my hand. Soon as i yelled out owww she stopped, ran away and came back and licked my hand that she bit accidentally
Remember that scene in Friends when Joey is trying to find the "Hot Girl" in the apartments across the street. So he goes over there and walks in the hallway of the floor she lives on and he says "Hot girl, Hot girl? damn" well that's how I feel watching this video. Oh, also that's a very awesome cat and I thought it was rare or at least very difficult to keep in doors. Thanks for vid, keep on petting.
People keep saying that the serval looks unhappy and doesn't enjoy the indoors well look at him he's sooo happy. She probably got Zeus when he was a kitten or he got rescued. A bad way to get a serval cat is when they are an adult because then they would be used to the outdoors.
Serval's should have a large place to run outside. Like an enclosure. It's cruel to make them stay indoors all the time like a domestic cat. This is a Wild animal that has been raised as a kitten. You can buy them pretty much anywhere they are legal. Nothing special about this one.
Now that is a cat you cannot play too rough with. Good to see he loves you enough to stop when you protest. He would do some decent damage if he attacked full on.

"People are always upset with me when I 'hand-play' with Zeus explaining how he will think of it as prey and he will attack me and hurt me lol" @1:56 as he tries to disembowel your arm - he probably would of if he weren't declawed..
sarah pody... Yep. Most of the exotic pets are declawed. Meanwhile they keep stating how domesticated they are. So why do they have to painfully amputate the end of the bones containing the nails ? Because these animals are dangerous and they know it. Domesticated ! Then why do they have to mutilate the animal ? It's disgusting. 😡
He's so cute and gentle! I cant even pet my cat without her attacking me only when she's sleeping I can pet her and I saved her when she was 7weeks old by the dumpsters. She's ungrateful! lol That's what I get for getting a feral cat.
You commenters are right when you say this pet shouldn't be released into the wild. That's clearly not the problem here. The problem is animal breeders. As you can read in the description of the video, the owner decided to buy this cat from breeders. Animal breeders and people who selfishly buy from them are adding to overpopulation and killing shelter animals chance to have a life. You see, for every puppy or kitten who is produced by any breeder, an animal awaiting adoption at an animal loses his or her chance at finding a home- and will be euthanized. So the owner of Zeus literally paid someone to breed her this cool, exotic looking animal to make her happy, instead of going to an animal shelter where there were already plenty of cats waiting to be adopted. But apparently those cats weren't good enough for her, and deserved to be euthanized. Not only this, but now she posts videos encouraging people to do the same. Please don't buy from animal breeders, and go save a cat or dog life from adopting from an animal shelter.
I prefer breeders. If you get a cat from a shelter then you don't know where it came from. With breeders you know exactly how they've been raised and what breed they are. I don't like breeders who do incest with animals, and yes some shelters do in fact do incest to reproduce their animals, and the animal turns out crazy. Pet smart for an example, they make siblings mate with each other, and that's not good because they're not supposed to have the same DNI or they will end up messed up, and no one wants an unhealthy messed up pet who can attack you at any moment.
Yezz Bich nit all shelters kill animals just because they didnt get adopted. At the shelter I worked at aggression towards humans or health issues was the only reason they would put an animal down. When we got too full we would as for rescues to take certain animals and have adoption fares at petco and pet smart with really low adoption fees. If animals got too stressed out in the shelter we would ses about rescues or foresters but euthanasia is a last resort
Emmanuel Goldstein if you took domestic cats the odds are lower of a human owner being attacked as where with wild cat's the odds are lot higher of human being attack.

That cat may be adorably cute but I think it belongs in the wild if there is nothing wrong with it.
Aww the widow tiny one! cute! A mama and kitten, sweet!
Yezz Bich and why should she adopt a cat from a shelter just because some people shouldnt have gotten one in the firstplace
What you mean to say is that hundreds of public jobs are at stake when people engage in capitalism because you cant justify your budgets.
Get a life you jealous bitch
That serval loves his mama. 😺
I want one really bad
what you 'want' is a fucking brain
I have own mine for seven years, her name is Monica and she owns me lol the sweetest big baby ever!
I love when pet owners project emotions on a species and think they know more than zoologists just because they owned one.
Emmanuel Goldstein if you took domestic cats the odds are lower of a human owner being attacked as where with wild cat's the odds are lot higher of human being attack.
