We use the 2.5” 28gr in open water for walleye, smallies and burbot. We usually clip the front hook to keep this jig from getting stuck to the bottom of the river. These work great. On our last trip I put four walleye in the live well in under 10 minutes. My buddy hadn’t even had his first bite.
I really didn’t have a good understanding of this style of lure until I started doing underwater videos. The erratic action, especially for a bait used a lot vertically, is very impressive. An erratic presentation is so key to getting gamefish to strike oftentimes. Love the attention to detail Acme has put into this lure. They’ve really stepped up their game.
@@AnglingUploaded thanks for your response... I'm about to buy one of this to our local shop.. and btw i'm using curado DC 150xg 20lb. line and carbonlite 2.0 johny morris MH fast action.
Doing these underwater videos has really given me an appreciation of jigging minnow-style lures. They’re so erratic and will trigger all types of predators. Not surprised at all they’re killer on lake trout.

What is the quick connect your using called? I need some
Action is wild on these baits - may have to buy one or two and try them here in the local waters!
Gotta have ‘em. Not only extremely erratic, but also can calm the presentation down to entice. Awesome, awesome category of lures.
I need know if I can cast this 1oz lure or this is just vertical fishing where u need a boat?
You can definitely cast the one ounce version. Just need to use a bit beefier gear. You’d probably want to go with a medium heavy rod.
