Both are 5 year warranty. Transformer rating shown on back of units for Cinema 40 is 710W and Cinema 50 is 680W. Power output difference likely to be not noticeable if driving more than 5 speakers. Specs say both have the same Hdam modules (list). Both have 9 channels of amplification. Both will need an additional amp to enable Dolby 11.4 atmos. Multiple PCBs doesn’t necessarily mean lower noise. Separate dedicated power supplies is what matters most along with high quality filter capacitors. Marantz recommends running separate dedicated amplifiers to lower the noise floor. Cinema 40 does have the front LCD panel, an extra HDMI, two analogue video inputs and an extra zone. I think the Cinema 50 easily represents the best value will cater for 99% of most people. Difference between the Marantz sound engineers warm sound and an unmodified forward bias is personal preference. Speaker selection likely to have more overall impact on the overall sound. Although one is assembled in Japan and the other in Vietnam, the internal electronic components are likely from Taiwan. I will listen to each side by side but doubt I will be able to hear the difference.
Cinema 50 is made in Vietnam has 3 year Manufacturer warranty with 1 single Pcb board, Cinema 40 is made in Japan has 5 year manufacturer warranty for $1000 more you get independent Pcb boards, El core Transformer ,Hdam-X2 modules for better sound separation and is worth $1000 more and boy does it make a day & night Difference!
Get low sensitivity speakers (88db or higher) and the Cinema 50 will suffice. And for home theater, you can use bookshelves all around and they're not power hungry like towers. Save yourself in thousands of dollars in the process vs going with separates and towers. Unless you also listen to a lot of music, then get tower fronts.
Hi Zach, great comparison. One question for you. Are the front panels of both of these receivers made of plastic? Thanks and keep up the great work you do.
Also, don't need the front on screen display as you can make adjustments on the receiver on your phone, via the app. The beauty of innovation and technology.
Contemplating between these two. I am planning on running this as a Pre Amp, and using a emotiva dedicated amp 200w per channel, does it really matter which Marantz I get?
Can't believe they still arent transparent with their Dirac implemetation. And its only that, implemetation not licence... At this point it's borderline scam.

Great comment! Thanks for sharing Domenic!
Thank you so much for this comment, been debating the cinema 40 vs 50 for weeks.

Beside the added power and features I love the use of copper screws om my 40 as used in the 8015.

Hello! They are both made out of a hard material. It feels like sheet metal to me. I hope that helps. Thanks for your kind words!
@@Dreamediaav thank you so much 😊

The cinema 50 is a great unit! Thanks for commenting John!
can you hook the amp 10 to the cinema 40?
Shall we get 5 years international warranty if we purchase from dream media
Great video...liked it totally...can you please help me with the height of cinema 40 including bottom bush
Yes it is 7 3/8” tall in total with the little sliders on feet. I would account for 7 1/2” to be safe
@@Dreamediaav thank you
@@Dreamediaav can you please help me with the width as well
And also the width please...that will be great..thanks.
Does the 40 run hot? Do you recommend getting a fan?
