We guessed she made this sound because of being scared of something, but we can't find out what was that. Others seem ok like didn't care about the sound. Actually all boys were sleeping. 😅😅
GF and I have had 4 guinea pig boys over a decade (3 new ones now) and it was a pretty rare sound. At most once every 6 months or so. It was mostly one of the pig's and mostly at night, but not exclusively at night. He would be eating hay or drinking from his bottle and then suddenly just zone out and start chirping and sit and stare for a few minutes. It never really struck neither me or my gf as him being scared, because there was no panic or complete freezing. We would call it "calling the mothership". :D Fuzzy, as we called him, was a rescue. He was found in a forest, I think and something had taken a little nibble on his ear. I often wondered if he had had other guinea pigs with him, that didn't make it and to me, the chirps always felt like he remembered something or someone and called for it/them. PS: Very fond memories of Fuzzy. He was a very gentle and mostly well behaved pig (he would tilt his pellet bowl often though). He had trouble with mushier veggies, but loved them dearly. We got by with a lowered amount of veggies, and tummy massages for an hour or 2 every evening for nearly 5 years. He would just go completely limp under my gf's fingers and snooze, while being massaged (and fart consistently). He also survived a surgery to get a tumor removed as well and outlasted everyone else of his cage mates.
A volunteer at a rescue I help at says some piggies "chirp" and it's hard to say what causes it. She thinks it's a leftover from some behavior or action domestic piggies no longer need. She also said the cagemate of one chirper would always look at him like he's nuts when he did it. XD
@@hughugaguineapig You're welcome! My theory is that it's some way for a piggy to "check in" and locate the herd. Poor Pippi looks like she was spooked by something, but hopefully she felt better quickly after!
How mysterious! And a lucky break to have the camera there, at the right moment. Sure, a good idea to leave her in the tunnel instead of picking her up. I don’t think that Guinea pigs feel the same psychological reassurance by being held by humans, as do cats and dogs.
We also did the research. Many reasons why guinea pig make chirping sound. We think Pippi was scared of something. She kept on stare at one side and dare not walk to that side. But just a few seconds she back to normal like nothing happened.
Don't be sacred. You are safe because you have your family ❤
Aww 😊❤️❤️
Poor little Pippi, I wonder what scared her. Maybe she saw a bug or something and got spooked 😅 Pippi seems like a scaredy little piggie 😂❤❤
Yes, she seems like scared of something but we can't find it. 😅
Aww Pippi ❤
Mine did something similar once! I sat by him, he climbed up for pets, and then finally calmed down after I started singing to him 😊
Pippi looks SO cute and so silly in that tunnel!

Hope she doesn’t have a kidney stone. My piggy used to make sounds like that when trying to pass urine when he had a bladder stone.
We think she doesn't have bladder stone. She made that sound just a few seconds and no more. She can pee like normal and pee colour is ok. 😅

It's still a mystery but... Snack is the best way to calm her down and make her happy. 😅
Hope she is ok.
She is good now. Eat, poop, sleep and wheek as usual. She made that sound only a few seconds and no more.
Maybe something spooked her?
I didn't see anything there. 😅 But she is good now like nothing happened. 😊
@@hughugaguineapig that’s all that matters :3
Why did she make that sounds? Did you look in her paws to see if there is nothing stuck in there? 😳
We also don't know why. 😅 Yes, nothing stuck in her paws. 😅😅
What kind of coating do you have on the bottom of the aviary?
It is washable pee pad.
