Can I assume it is like a guided tour in a porsche? Wanted to know do we get to push it on some areas and all. I thought you just rent it and drive wherever you want for 300 km and bring it back. Great video btw.
yes, you drive it however (as fast as) you like and wherever you like and bring it back. The group that I was with chose to have a guided tour by the local Porsche club but we arranged that ourselves.
Great video! I just made my reservation for an upcoming trip through sixt. It came out to 2200 euro for a 992 911 GTS for 5 days (including full insurnace) I wasn’t aware I could rent directly with Porsche, and the prices seem relatively comparable! I imagine the experience is much smoother vs. going with a “mainstream” rental company.
You'll love it, but a couple of suggestions. Make sure you check the car carefully before leaving the rental place, especially the underside of the front splitter. It is very low and easily scraped. They will check it when you return! Also, allow enough time for them to explain the controls, I know you think you've got it but my 2024 992 rental had MUCH different controls than my 2021 718 Spyder and I wished I would have had the rental car explained better. Enjoy your trip!
It was a wonderful experience ! A a big shout out to the Porsche Club Stuttgard and their President Dirk Bohmel for all their help with our drive. As one of the coordinators for this drive, I have to say they were awesome. Rick Grant, Membership Chair, Acadia Region - Porsche Club of America
Thanks Rick, yes it was a wonderful experience and we appreciate all that you did to make it happen. This was the first of 4 videos I filmed for RUclips during the trip. The rest will be uploaded during the next month or so, you may want to check those out too. Please feel free to share links to the videos.
@@GaryTheCarNut Hi Gary, many thanks for letting me know about your other upcoming videos from this trip. Will be looking forward to seeing them and will definitely be sharing them with our PCA members. Thank you so much for doing this !
Definitely, book ahead. We booked a month or more in advance and rented all the cars they had available, especially important if you want to book a certain model.
You know you want to....this video explains how!!

Great Rick, that would be fantastic! The videos will be posted to my RUclips channel which is here www.youtube.com/@garythecarnut Thanks
What happens if you get a ticket?
I don’t know for sure but I heard the police take you to their station and you need to pay the fine right then and there.
@@GaryTheCarNut Interesting, thanks! Do you think it’s important to book ahead of a trip, or can I do it just as easily once I’m over there?
Definitely, book ahead. We booked a month or more in advance and rented all the cars they had available, especially important if you want to book a certain model.
