I agree with your statement that hair needs something of moisture. I first tried the Sisterloc or whoever approach of no oils, just wash and go and refresh occasionally with the Sisterloc spray. I had little growth but at my 1 year mark, I started using oil and extending the amount of time for re-tightening to 5 to 6 weeks and have had great growth. During that period of no oils, I lost a loc and others were barely hanging on because it was just too dry. I stopped the loss and breakage by just going back to what I know about my hair. I need oil on my scalp also, no if ands or buts about it!
I totally agree everyone’s hair is different and mine definitely needs some kind of oil. It can be light but it thrives with it!
I started using oils at 10months and I love it!! No slippage. Less tangling, more life.

So has your locks gotten thicker as well? Or just gotten longer?
I think they’re getting thicker because their maturing. Since I’m almost at the year Mark I expect them to get a little fuller in certain areas.
