Hot take: the cookie is better than the creme. The only reason why double stuff is good is because that volume of creme comes off of the cookie easier with minimal scraping for easier enjoyment of the cookie alone.

I'm gonna end up explaining this like Gavin, but Zoe is right because if I want an (1) oreo, I'm gonna take a mega stuf oreo. But if I want oreos (many), I'm going to have several original oreos. The double stuf is too much creme if you want more than one, but not enough if you only want one.

Unpopular opinion: The thin Oreos are the best because it's the perfect creme to cookie ratio. Not too much cookie and not too much creme.

What about instead of names, just a number system? Oreo 0 is like thins, regular is 1, double is 2, mega 3, etc. Then your preference is more like a shoe size

Just keep it simple with a % rating as per chocolate. 50% stuff, 80% stuff, 95% stuff.
The problem with women's shoe or clothing sizes is that there is no universal standard. One brand of shoe in a Size 9 is going to be different from the same size in a different brand, so there's no way to be sure you're buying the right one for yourself. This is why I hate going shopping in the women's sections for pretty much anything.
I actually do think it’s too much cream if I’m having just straight up Oreos, but I prefer Double Stuffed if I’m having it with milk.
Also, the cookie part is my favorite part, why are people throwing it away???

The cream is DEF too sweet. Its just not what I look for in a snack, or a dessert really. I get enough sugar from drinking soda and starbucks thank you.
Then don't drink soda or starbucks, and only eat Oreos. Problem solved!

Counterpoint: What if you made those double-stuffed the new "standard", and someone was like: "I want to eat Oreos, but I'm not feeling super good and the regular (which in this case would be what we currently call double-stuffed) ones might be too much for me". 1:20 I'll stop you there; my favorite part of an Oreo is the cookie. I almost wish the cream wasn't there at all. The amount of cream in a normal Oreo is too much. I wish there were half cream Oreos. It's like how people pile frosting on cakes, of both the cup and full size kind. The cake isn't there to serve as a vessel for the icing, the icing is there to compliment the flavor of the cake. It's the same with Oreos. The cream is there to compliment the taste of the cookies. If the cream is the stronger flavor, it's a bad Oreo.
the way i see it, people who dont immediately eat the uncreamed cookie when splitting oreos are commiting a crime, and also if double stuffed is the norm, them mega would be normal but more and regular would be normal but less.

As a diebetic this is a horror show. I will say on the rare occason that I _do_ eat one, I refuse to discard the tops of oreos. they're not ideal, but they're still cookies, dammit.

I used to live by a Nabisco factory and when they made Oreos it would smell soooooo good Outside if you've ever eaten a fresh Oreo the cookie is definitely the best part it makes the cream filling taste like sugar paste

This may be an unpopular opinion, but my favorite Oreos are the Oreo thin bites which are mini Oreos with thin cream and thin cookies and are chocolate covered. It's a perfect bite-sized Oreo cookie that doesn't overwhelm or get super messy.
I agree with Zoe, double stuff is too much cream. It messes with the milk dunking technique since the biscuit gets too soggy, or the biscuits break when you try dunking them in peanut butter.

Glad to see more people talking about how double stuffed is too much. It's a Goldilocks situation, regular Oreos are just right. If you want to be animal and Frakenstien your own double stuffed you can. If you want to buy double stuffed you can, but leave our regular alone thank you very much. You already have two options to attain what you want, don't say OUR preferred option should be nixed.
The creme is all lard and sugar. If that’s what you like, then cool, but the cookie is absolutely the best part.

Honestly I'm pretty sure what Nabisco calls Double stuffed oreos now is what regular oreos use to be. But now they cut the amount of cream in all the cookies in half to save money.
