Even though she sings her lines in the chorus *in Korean*, in general her voice blends so/too well with the group, especially JK's in the chorus, nobody really notices it's her unless one concentrates on it or made the distinction for themselves.
@@REDEMPTION46 The MV was what they did for all the year. They needed a version that they could do without halsey. She did join them for the BBMAs
yeah, she sounds great on the record. It's this odd mixture of very a prominent presence - if you listen for her voice it's unmistakable - but it also blends so well I almost forget it's there. All I know is the song is richer for it so I'm glad it's there.
They wanted the video to focus more on BTS since it's their song and they would have to perform it without her. Like others have said she does more singing on the Spotify version.

Many complain about Halsey not having a bigger part. The one who doesn't is Halsey who has a special relationship with the group and even included Suga on her album. Even at Jingle Ball, she just jumped in when BTS was performing because she finds BTS fun to work with.

I fully understand them, about Halsey not having much part. I guess it is because they do not know the history of it. They do not know that this was not like a business project where their labels sat down and talked... it was just them wanting to do something out of friendship, which is truly sweet. So to Redemption 46, pls know that this was just a "Hey let's do something" ... "Sure, let's go" kind of thing. It was all for fun. That's what Joonie said, when he was interviewed about it.

Is Jerick the one on the leftmost side? I feel like he needs to hear more of BTS's earliest discographies. I listen to kpop from years back and believe me, BTS has one of the best discographies in kpop. I think in one video he said they're overrated, I beg to disagree. BTS always win in the arena of the production of the song, not to mention their lyricism. They're like this huge pandora box but they do all these genres MASTERFULLY. They have a lotta incredible albums, but the top of my list is LY:Tear.
You should've reacted to them performing this at one of their concerts.

Might be going too deep with this comment, but apparently this song corresponds to the the beginning of Karl Jung's Red Book - as you know Map of the soul albums follow his theory of self. Well the beginning of the Red Book Jung dreamt of a desert, finding an oasis where he meets a beautiful lady (she was Asian, which is an interesting flip as well). And apparently, the desert represents one's subconsciousness and that lady was considered the physical manifestation of his soul, this meeting made him think about and develop his theory of self (which was just as influential as his friend's - Freud's). This explains the extensive pink/utopian sets and even the use of pure pop - oasis, as well as the female feature (some also say that she represents ARMY, which is a fun double if it extends to the self and the soul they want to explore). The whole album can be seen as one (collective or individual) personality exploring itself. Very fun 😄
P.S. this song was the title track for Persona, so our first taste of the Map of the Soul era. Another interpretation of the video is that it represents the bts persona or how people/media sees them: happy, poppy, loved. Finally, it is in opposition with Boy in luv, pointing to maturity when dealing with loving another person (as it follows the Love Yourself era). OK, I'm done haha. That's what I gathered

I really like BTS because, of Them I discoverd Halsey. Before this I never heard of her.
Please check out Halsey's single "SUGA's Interlude". It's easily one of my favorite collabs. Suga's rap sequence there is fire, even my boyfriend who doesn't listen to kpop stuff heard it and checked it out. Also know the direction and the message she wanted to convey for Manic album. Why she chose to collab with Suga has a lot to do with the message she wanted to bring in the album.
- Another great collab is Blueberry Eyes by Max ft. Suga too. Suga is one of my favorite artists. His talent in producing and rapping is amazing.
Everyone always forgets the ARMY Remix MV. There is more Halsey and more dancing.
I’ve watched several of these reactions and it’s misleading when it’s titled “Filmmakers React” and there are no opinions about production, set, camera usage/techniques, or even themes because many of BTS songs and especially videos have so much symbolism. So many amazing things are overlooked. Would love to hear more about your experience In filmmaking and your connections to their videos
I feel the same. Like they have naturally NO INTEREST in the production whatsoever. The ones that are not fans just keep trying to front.

In case you're not aware she's a mother now, also in korean age RM is older than her but global age RM and Halsey are around the same age believe it or not, I personally can't believe Halsey is even that young when she looks old enough to be their older sister or mother.
