I know how you feel. Being the parent of a disabled child is exhausting as we put everything into them.
My 23 yr old is orthopedically disabled and non ambulatory. I also have medical conditions.
We can’t just go….i have to make sure where I’m going is wheelchair accessible and bathrooms available that are wheelchair accessible.
How far is it and will it drain me as I do the pushing and transferring and lifting.
Hugs to you. Sometimes we just have to take a day - get our own shit done and that puts us in a better frame of mind.

The sacrifices never stop and you have to weigh one thing against another all the time. You were hoping that dashing could pay the same and give you more time....and you tried it, which is important. The center of your route is averaging shitty tippers. Go to where the rich ppl eat and shop. Even if it takes u 45 mins to drive there. Don’t be afraid of sitting in parking lots. Especially of restaurants with high prices. Take the trips that pay as close to $2 per mile as you can stand. Even the little ones i.e $5 for 2 miles. That will help ur acceptance rate.
I still spend too much on food while I’m out. Gas you can’t help of course. But gas up in a poor neighborhood. Usually cheaper.
Downtown is a bad mix of crap tippers that live far away. You end up rejecting a lot. The best spots are usually just outside of downtown.
One more thing… don’t be stuck on the “hot spots”. Those just have more drivers.

It might be more that he is standing in one place and not moving than just the heater. The leg muscles help the circulation and can reduce swelling. Hope he can fight this infection! My sister had to have an aortic valve replacement at the age of 32 because of a similarly type of infection that attacked her valve.

Have you looked into getting paid by the state to take care of your son? When my friend had cancer her husband got paid to be able to stay home and take care of her. Not sure if Florida has anything like that to take care of you son.

My DD acceptance rate currently sits at 4%. I had it up to 13% yesterday but they kept sending me junk stack orders not greater than $10.00. I finally just gave up and came home. Luckily I dash mostly on military base requiring FBI background and REAL ID allowing most dashers not to qualify for this work on the base. I am also certified by the State of VA for alcohol delivery providing me another opportunity that not all dashers bother to become certified.

Hey Meaty Momma. I hope you get this message. I am also self employed entrepreneur. I worked in corporate retail as mentioned for over 20 years. I have 7 kids and now the grandkids are coming. I am 43 and I feel the same as you at times. This is what I do. I run a coaching Business. I schedule as many jobs as I can on 2-4 days throughout the week. GREAT MONEY. I door dash sometimes on evenings Weekends or between jobs for lunch rush. Then on Mondays and sometimes Tuesdays because those days are slow for me with door dash I work on my reselling business. I prep and photograph enough items to get me through the week. I know you do You Tube which is time consuming but I think you have a hustle to do as much as you want to protect your schedule. My dad is from the st Pete area so I'm often in FL. I appreciate your video's and wish you and your kids the best

Uber Eats will never pay you for cancelled orders unless you call them and beg them for compensation. Then they will tell you that you have been compensated too many times. In order to get any compensation you have to ask to be transferred to a supervisor. It’s utter BS!

You made me teary-eyed for you and your situation, cuz it’s my situation, too. All I do is work all the time and it’s not fair all those people that get to do other things that aren’t work. I have hobbies and interests I want to do, but I need money. If I ever do get to do something I enjoy, it’s always late at night, so I skip sleep just so I can do something fun. I don’t even get to enjoy my home. I pay all the rent just for a place to sleep cuz I’m never home.
I know all states are different, but is there any way you can get paid to be your son’s caregiver, since he’s legally an adult? Like going through some kind of “training” to get certified or something? I have 2 cousins that that could’ve been an option for, so that they had someone they knew to care for them, rather than a stranger. Just a thought…

Doctors should get to the cause of his swelling. In the meantime, you can buy a foam wedge (ramp) to elevate his legs or maybe an adjustable bed, which may be covered by insurance if prescribed by his doctor. Medstar has adjustable hospital beds. Compression socks may help too.
They did. He was admitted to the hospital for 30 days with endocarditis.

Im disabled myself and I am looking into getting my nephew to help me out with personal and household work, kinda of like a caregiver and have him get paid for it. As I get older Im finding things more difficult. He has Asberger Syndrom but hgh functioning. He has grown up around me and knows how I like things done. If you have a friend or family memberthat can help with your son in the mornings that he gets along with maybe that can help. The Medicaid program here in Va is called The Consumer Direct Network. The dr needs to recommend he needs home health care through his insurance. It might take some pressure off you some?

You are lucky to be living in a beautiful part of the world, no snow. We in Canada are really stuck in our homes. I would love to live in Florida. You are blessed to be there. People wait their entire lives to be there for their retirement and that is only allowed for half of the year. At least you can sit outside all year we only get a few nice months to be able to do that and can't grow beautiful orange trees like in Florida. You are fortunate!

Even though Uber Eats shows you are diamond status, you’re really blue. You have to have an AR of 70% to actually achieve any other status other than blue status.
