I love how Yash is not going a route where prabhas went after baahubali where he was mostly playing this over the top hero role in big budget actions movies. The fact that they are going for a trilogy is enough to make the audience believe that they are not going to chop the story left , right and centre for their convenience, i have full faith in Ranbir, he'll effortlessly mould into the character and it'll be interesting to watch how he manages to portray a character that has an emotional connect with the people of our country , i think the casting is perfect sai pallavi always had a positive aura around her, everytime you see her on-screen you can't ignore the fact that she has a calmness , and Yash is undoubtedly transitioned to one of the biggest stars of the country, if all goes well , i think this is going to put India on a global stage .

Well said! I am glad that it's a Trilogy! Coz Ramayana needs to be told in a manner that we are able to see all the major plot points. Adipurush makers chose to showcase the Shri Ram and Ravaan:s legendary battle and they still failed to showcase even that properly.

Ranbir for Ram's character is a perfect choice he can pull of the role. In my opinion Karthi can live the role of Hanuman. His charm and the dedication for the Prince in PS-1&2 was one of the main attraction of the movies. So I think Karthi will be a perfect cast for Hanuman's role.

Ranbir as Ram is perfect..the actor is really talented and suits Shri Ram's demeanour, Sai Pallavi seems a pure soul and a good actress hence perfect choice for Maa Sita's role.. and if yash plays Raavan I think it will be a perfect balance where we would be forced to see Raavan not as a mere character but as the power he was.

One thing which I really want to see now is a different perspective on these epics. Don't get me wrong, but perhaps we need different dimensions of these ever told epics. Like in the books, for example Chitra Banarjee's FOREST OF ENCHANTMENTS which told Sita's empowering story, exploring her struggles and desires. We also need to draw focus on smaller characters like Surpnakha, Mandodari, Urmila, Bharat, Kaikeyi etc. Like Palace Of Illusions where Mahabharat was explored from Draupadi's relatable yet distinguished perspective. I really hope to see new approaches in the future to deepen the epics' often monotonously told stories. It will be sooooo refreshing!

I am pumped for this movie purely because of the creators involves with it. I have faith in Nitesh Tiwari's work and he's not working alone to make this epic a reality and if the same studios behind the VFX of Brahmastra is involved in it, the possibility of this project being a home run is very high. Though I believe the vast story requires a a large canvas(a trilogy is an apt choice), I hope they adapt the parts necessary to aid the screenplay to be effective, or else it has a risk of being all over the place. As for the casting is concerned, in no point in history has there been any positivity surrounding the actors and their ability to portray these revered figures😒😒 so it is better not to indulge in that debate and just hope that the actors surprise us!!🤞🤞 This movie could be game changing for Indian Cinema!!🤩🔥

Ranbir or Hrithik aren't suited for the role. I don't know why bollywood is ashamed to show the real Rama that we all saw in paintings and was described beautifully in scriptures. A calm, short, dark man. I can't imagine Hrithik or even Ranbir playing this role

I had to double check.. Sai as Sita would be so great.. And Yash as Ravan is a great choice as well, although my own preference was Chiyaan Vikram (take the look from Adithya Karikalan and his character from Raavanan), he would have been perfect.. Some one said Karthi as Hanuman, i can see that too.. Let us hope they do good..

Personally, I love how shrewd Yash is with his script choices. He's very similar to SRK in that sense, an outsider not afraid of taking risks with good character/scripts. Very excited to see his rendition of Ravan. Also, Sai Pallavi is the perfect Sita!

With Nitesh Tiwari giving us something like Bawaal, I have my apprehensions for this Ramayana but I'm hopeful too that he'll deliver considering that he gave us movies like Dangal and Chichhore. He's a fine director, he just needs some time to write his characters well. I'm very much pleased with this casting tbh. I think Ranbir Kapoor has that calmness in his eyes to portray Shri Ram perfectly and Sai Pallavi as Sita!!! There can't be a better casting than this. If truly Yash does the role of Raavan then it'll be massive

The casting is just perfect... specially Sai Pallavi!! I was really worried hearing Aalia will play Sita. This is just my theory but I think Social media addicts can never play such calm and poised characters and they lack the calmness and patience.. Aalia and ranveer still behave like kids.. Ranbir, Sai pallavi and Yash all three are good actors and have really mature personality.. Hope Nitesh Tiwari gives it his best and makes our country proud!!!
The point is why we are making so many version of Ramayana????? We have so many untold stories in our mythology yet to be discovered. Even in Mahabharata have so many separate stories for each character.
Honestly a movie about shakuni would have been amazing, that man was just wow. Yeah he was evil but his cunningbess and intelligence is something to respected. I have read a little about him, I would love an in-depth movie about him.
Of the three main cast, Sai Pallavi is the most compatible casting for the role. Nitesh Tiwary is good director but what he did with bawaal raised some concern of the storytelling for ramayana and perhaps doing some mistake which if misunderstood can create outrage bcuz lets face the simple fact that if adipurush would have been done by anyone else other than BJP favored prabhas and the team then we would be seeing riots and death threats everywhere with film being on the news for months.
Hopefully, This team watch adipurush to learn what not to do and bawaal controversy sort of put nitesh tiwary out of his bubble to make politically right content because that is very important to maintain in such highly intolerant environment we have right now.
If you see the opening credits of Adipurush there were mention of almost every Chief minister of the bjp ruled states and the, majority of the hate went to Om Raut and Manoj Muntashir

But the Over-confidence of BJP that they can make this india's biggest hit by propaganda alone made the makers careless and backfired massively. But no one wants to call out the politics behind it due to fear as it has very sensitive elements. Even Salaar's clash with dunki is happening for the very same reason. As they could have adjusted to next year easily with no big movie coming in first half of the year. But the political interference made them do this stupidity. Now they will face significant losses and same will happen to dunki too which potential to be bigger than both of SRK's blockbusters this year. Which us exactly what current govt wants.

Personally i think epics like mahabharat and ramayan should be made into a series rather than a 3h movie .The world of both epics is so versatile and larger than life that a movie wont do justice for all the subplots happening in the epic and focusing only from one characters pov wont do it justice either.They should make it into a series where each season focuses on each important character and then ultimately all characters come together into a season of mahabharat battle.

I believe in learning from mistakes so I'm not gonna repeat what I did with adipurush😂 I'll be hyped up only on the release day if this project is ever going to materialize... as of now the only Indian filmmaker I can trust for making Ramayan or Mahabharat is SS Rajamouli....
However it is not Ranbir Kapoor's fault but despite being an excellent actor he somehow has that rich brat look in every role... Which is an absolute No No when it is about playing Shree Ram... And secondly his speech hasn't really evolved through the years but still there is a mumbaiya touch combined with the rich brat accent which again is not completely Ranbir's fault but can be a complete disaster in this kind of a role where the actor's speech has to be on point... Basically it is not that easy a job to just select a leading superstar for the role of Shree Ram... A lot of things need to be taken into consideration

I just want them to make the Ramayan as it really is. Ravan was a complicated character, not just some evil presence to get rid of and I want it to be explored. Same for Lakshman. I have always found Lakshman to be an interesting character after Ravan, him having just unmoveable faith and loyalty to his brother and yet he was nothing like Ram, short tempered, sharp tongued, straight forward, very action oriented guy. I really want the characters portrayed correctly instead of some cartoony traditional hero and villain!

Born from a sage and a demoness, he possessed the qualities of both. He was highly intelligent, possessed excellent diplomatic skills, was a learned scholar, a great pandit (inherited from his dad) leading him to receive a boon from Brahma (to not be killed by any creature but he did not mention human) and an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva, making his Tandav Strotam and Mohan Veena. Also, the fact that people forget Ravana actually abducted Sita to avenge his sister's nose being cut off by Lakshman, and he did not even do anything to her except keeping her in Ashoka Vatika with female demons as guards.
He was an interesting and layered character, but in every telling is reduced to some 1-dimensional villain. I would like to see his character explored and retold, as well as Sita and Lashman's.
