They are neither better nor worse, just different; I own the very same amp Paul used to use and I prefer it over just about any Marshall I've ever heard but that doesn't make it better: just different.
i think hes trying still to do things he didnt think he could do at one point... idk if he really wants to metal it up any more... well hes a great guitar player so rock on paul :)
cut his hair off, and bought new clothes... true thing, gilbert is changing, dont know if it is for better... but its not the same gilbert. the metal ages 80, hes gone...

Never was to sure about that tone, I prefer the Laney sound overall but the 80s version has got something going for it.
