お父さんのリック・ネルソン（元リッキー・ネルソン）の死から間もない頃の追悼にて、デビュー前のネルソン登場。スピーチの中で「今年は・・・」と言ってるところがありますが、リック・ネルソンが亡くなったのは1985年12月31日で、この式典は86年1月ですのでまだ年が明けて間もないので昨年と言うべきところを今年と言い間違えただけだと思われます。
ここで披露した曲は95年発売のセカンドアルバム "Because They Can" に収録されている"Be Still" のオリジナルと思われます。アルバム収録版は歌詞やテンポなど相当アレンジされています。どうしてデビューアルバムに入れてくれなかったんでしょう。それにしてもすごいあたま・・・。
あ～素敵なビデオなのに・・・これもすぐ消される運命なのでしょう。

These guys are so good. Their harmony is super, too. Rick would be so proud of them. This was terrific, Nelson.👍🏻😄👏🏻
Kinda messed up they made them so obviously lip sync. You can hear four part harmonies when only one of them is "singing". They were talented kids. should have let them sing for their Dad for real. Such a shame.
There were two other guys on the stage. You can see when they pan out. I doubt they were lip syncing. The other two guys were undoubtedly harmonizing with them. All the interviews I’ve seen they’re pretty sensitive about the fact they “ don’t run tracks” or lip sync.

When I watched this live I didn't realize the amount of backing tracks. The layers of vocal harmonies are amazing.

Wow, never saw them when they were this young. There hair is really cool, for sure. They sing very well also.. There brother Sam, looks even more like Ricky. They are such wonderful guys, from such a wonderful family. Their grandparents, Ozzie & Harriet were marvelous people.

I have met Gunnar and Matthew several times at their concerts and they are so outgoing and friendly, even to this senior cit who was a big fan of their dads. I met Rick b4 he died and have also met Tracy and Sam( met Sam when he was very little and had his face painted at a fair....with his mom Kris) I asked Sam if his dad had to scrape off the paint and Kris LOL. Great family!

Know where the rest of their tribute can be found? I saw one same year on YT but it had Rick’s friends from the music business interviewed & showed Rick singing his songs from different concerts! It was very, very well done & I’m wondering if this was the end or beginning...only the twins are wearing different outfits...??
I had no idea that this song was reworked for their “Because They Can” album in 95’, they are so talented.
They have a harder version of this on their second album. I like this version much better.

ricky toured uk in november 1985 and i was very lucky to have seen him and met him that night .. i culd nt belive 6 weeks later he was dead ............. the world lost a icon that new years eve 1985 ... and around12 years later i was talking to the jordanaies elvis backing singesr and they told me they was ment to be with him on the plane that night
I’m so glad you got to se that concert! I saw a tribute: Remembering Ricky, for which Gordon Stoker of The Jordanaires was interviewed by Ed Powers, a DJ, who loved Rick’s music & played it on the station he worked for. Gordon’s & all the other ps interviews are there in full! It was great to find out things we never knew about how things got done, what an easy going person Rick was to work with & all kinds of things! The twins were also supposed to fly down to meet him & be on that plane, but Rick called them & changed his mind! Saved their lives, according to Gunnar!

Going to their Ricky Nelson Remembered concert in March. Can't wait! These guys are under appreciated...keep in mind they were 19 when they performed this. They have only become better and better.

Wow! I love these two!! I can't tell them apart in this video! And I gotta say, the Nelson family is one good looking family! They are a unique family! When you see Tracy along with them, you quickly know she is their sister! I miss seeing them!! I wish I got to meet them just so I can tell them how much I have enjoyed their music over the years!! Or, to put it another way, the one over-emoting and looking like he is giving birth to a baby whale, which making the whole song fake and silly, is the lead singer. (Nothing Ricky would ever have done, he 'sold' a song by acting naturally, not with grimaces and facial contortions, which fortunately the other one did not do at all. Who voted for 'I'm miming my electrocution - faced boy to sing lead? The other one was normal and lovely and sang great and didn't make my eyes bleed.). Also, what was up with that "MY brother Sam"...??

I'm amazed that some of these comments seem to not realize these guys had 2 top ten hits 1990 in which one went to number 1 on the billboard charts.

Gunnar is on the left, Matt on the right. These lyrics were slightly different for this show. The lyrics on the "Because They Can" album are published online and the version is a harder rock theme with terrific growling bass. I, too, am going to a "Ricky Nelson Remembered" tribute next week. CANNOT WAIT!
I have been to this concert here in upstate NY. It is wonderful. Listen very carefully to the tribute song to their dad. It is absolutely beautiful.BRING A BOX OF TISSUES. I CRY EVERY TIME I LISTEN TO THE CD. IT REALLY HITS HOME. ALSO BE SURE TO STAY AFTER TO MEET THEM. THEY ARE AMAZING, AND LIKE TO TALK WITH THEIR FANS. VERY DOWM TO EARTH AND VERY PERSONABLE.🙂🙂

I had no idea that they did anything musically before they were the group Nelson and did their 1990 studio l.p. "After The Rain" on Geffen Records? This is cool.
The were playing in clubs since they were 12! They are responsible for the rules being changed so young musicians can now play in places where liquor is served if they get in, sing & leave right after! Here, they were 19! So...they’d been professionals for 7 years by this time! Amazing, aren’t they?! 😊

I know what you mean. I have better luck telling them a part from 23 on. I was thinking gunnar because the vocal here sounds some what like the vocal on the recorded version. I've always loved gunnar's vocals.
